trying to kick analogues, new to vaping and forums

Lisa, I am not surprised that you mentioned the anti-depressant factor of cigarettes. Before we purchased our eGo's, we tried to initiate quitting by switching to organic rolling tobacco. I could deal if it was an emergency, but that was the moment I realized just how many chemicals are in brand analogs. I am curious to find out exactly what is in them now.

I spent last night trying to learn my vape inhalation method and it was a fail. I was using a low resis atty (which felt too strong) then tried the regular addy (way too weak) and ended up choking and losing my dinner. *yuckkkyyy* I am wondering if the scarring in my throat due to my GERD (stomach acid issue) is contributing to the coughing.

I have increased my water intake so we will see if today is any better. I am going to restock on my "throat coat" tea which I am pretty confident will help. Has anyone used cough drops or a chloraseptic spray? The thought crossed my mind last night, but I wanted to check here first.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!!
Always,
-Epi

Never tried it but it doesn't sound like a bad idea. When I vape, I take 3 or 4 slow drags into my mouth then inhale when I take the pv out of mouth. I think the low resistant atty's are too harsh for learning though, I would stick with the regular ones until you get your technique down. Don't worry just takes some practice you will get it soon, don't be too hard n yourself.

Bobby,

How many days would you say it took for the energy level to increase as well as the "throat issue" to subside?

I noticed the energy increase in a little over a month, when I did my anual run, which is the only time I run. It was nice not to stop for air lol. The throat issue resolved after about four days, but sometimes people perfer pg or vg, you just have to see what works best for you.

THE TEA IS WORKING!!!! I used a squirt of chloraseptic spray while I was brewing the tea and just finished a cup. The gagging and coughing has reduced a good 75-80% than what I experienced last night (I actually had trouble finding the Traditional Medicinal brand, but Celestial Seasonings recently put out a sleepytime throat tamer blend that has a similar herbal mix. It isn't as potent as the TM Throat Coat but it has made a world of difference)

Still smoking analogs, but the taste of them is off putting. Last night I was vaping the 16mg Desert ship but as I said in an earlier post I am not thrilled with the taste of cigarettes to begin with. I just deal with it due to my addiction to analogs and dislike of menthol. I am in love with the Wyatt Earp juice, it reminds me of the lovely smell of my grandfather's pipe tobacco.

My issue now is finding the right dosage. The sample of Wyatt Earp that came with our order is at 24mg which is proving to be too much for me. I am getting the vertigo/spinny & woozy feeling from it so I switched to a 12mg Honey for now which seems to be a safer level for me. Going to order a lower dose of the Wyatt Earp.

I am so excited to get off of analogs. I eventually want to stop vaping as well. Ed and I want to start considering having children, which means coming off of my bipolar meds as well as anything that could be harmful to the fetus. Before I found this forum, I truly thought i wouldn't be able to pull this off. But now, man...I cannot tell you guys how empowered you have made me feel. Especially all of the people who also suffer from bipolar and addiction taking the time to share their stories and wisdom. It truly is a blessing to have a place where I can write from the heart and work through this in a stream of consciousness fashion without judgment.

The next step is to go 12 hours without an analog. Once I can (AND I WILL) do that, I will go analog free for 24 hours. I think that once I can get through an entire day...zomg...I can't even tell you how proud of myself I will be!!! Once I am able to go a week, I am going to reward myself with a deep tissue and lymphatic draining massage to assist in the healing process.

Thank you Team ECF!!!! I send you all love, strength and immense support!!!

Epi, you'll get there. You have a hubby that is actively helping, so the easy part is up to you.

I smoked and vaped for many weeks. Had to find flavors that worked. Then had to find a nic level that worked. Had to get used to a high water intake. Big deal, huh? Well, one day I discovered I had forgotten to smoke. Just didn't occur to me until the next day.

So vape when you can, smoke when you have to, and keep trying as you can. It'll happen.

You'll find plenty of support here too, so your hubby and you don't have to do it all.
