when I get a chance I'm going to try to do a very basic and simple beginners guide to temp control vaping. I know there is tons of info out there but it may be overwhelming for someone just starting out with only basic mech experience to get started.
That would be great! :pop:

doesn't making the cutoff lower, allow for higher watts at low levels? or does the dna ignore this setting in actual operation and relies on its own battery readings? So basically does lower the cutoff give you a looser breaking on the watts?

yeah, making the cut-off lower will allow you to hit higher watts at lower levels of battery charge to a certain extent. the dna does use this low voltage cut-off in it's regulation and control calculations.

**** most of the people who were sent requests for inclusion have responded and those that have chosen to be included have either been added, or have added themselves to this list themselves. there are still 2 or 3 people who have not responded yet. from what I can tell it appears they have not been on the forums in the last few days and these are members that I respect and want to give every opportunity to be included here, so I will still leave this list as "open to possible alterations" for the next few days ****

now as far as how I am going to work with these woods as far as reservations.

I want this to be as fair as possible for everyone and I want to try to avoid having several people "fight" over the same block, so....

what I'm thinking is,

***anyone can choose any of the "stock woods" at any point. reason being that choosing that type of wood is somewhat vague in the final look that will result, and also because I usually have enough for more than one mod, AND because I should be able to get more of about the same or very similar wood at any time.

*** as far as any specialty woods or stabilized resin resin/hybrid blocks, these will wind up being allowed selection by order of list priority... in other words, someone at the bottom of the list shouldn't be able to reserve a specialty block therefore not allowing someone who's ahead of them on the list and who's turn is up to select that block.

for me and every one else involved here(meaning you :) ) it would help smooth out the flow of this list if everyone chooses what they want and also if everyone knows what is or will be available to them too, so I would ask that anyone on the list who specifically wants one of the specialty blocks would please pm me with there choice. as I can asign a block to a name it will make it much easier to eventually smooth out the flow of this list, and eventually I would hope to be able to do this a little differently.

what I would like to do in the future is, when I get a specialty block and show it here, allow say 4-5 days for someone on the list to request it and then sort who would get it in order of priority on the list, and if it goes unreserved for this time period then open it to anyone on the list regardless of there list position on a first come first served basis AFTER this grace period

all of this is done in an effort to try to be as fair as possible and to attempt to not show favoritism or any kind of unfairness here. if anyone has any input to these ideas or objections I'm open to discuss any of this, again in the end all I really want to try to do is make everyone happy and avoid any tug-o-wars over any particular block

so with that being said, I will give an initial 5 day grace period for selection before allowing anyone to specifically reserve any specialty block. I would ask that anyone on this list who specifically wants one of the specialty blocks shown here would please pm me with there choice so I can sort these out in order of priority. also anyone on this list who knows that they will be sourcing there own block would also let me know this, and finally if anyone on this list thinks they may want one of the stock woods shown here would also pm me and let me know that too, and while we are at it, it would also help if you would let me know if you have decided whether you are wanting a dna200 or dna75 mod. hopefully within a little time this will all smooth out and flow better. I would ask that you please make your choice of specialty blocks in particular known to me through PM and not on this thread so everyone can place there request without bias and conflict. THANK YOU :)

**as far as pricing on these specialty blocks I will add specific pricing a bit later but these particular dyed stabilized and stabilized/resin hybrids range from $60 to $85 in cost but you will receive a $20 discount on this price, so the final up charge for any of these blocks will be between $40 and $65 **

well I finally completed the dna200 final design, 100% done, finalized, finished completely!!! and I assembled a final production version. didn't have to add much to the size at all really, just a very slight amount over my first prototype before adding the varitube 510, and it still feels just as good in hand.

I got some pics for you of the final dna200 design

first a few pics of the internals. all contacts are copper base plate with silver button contacts. positive and negative orientation is easy to determine as the negative contacts are larger than the positive contacts, just as they are on the batteries themselves, so just line up small to small, large to large and you're good to go...

here is the positive and negative contacts:

and here is how they sit in the mod:

here is the bridge that connects the 2 cells, the spring itself is not part of the circuit and doesn't add any voltage drop at all

IMG_0874_zpselfkiuy5.jpg

a few more internal shots, all wiring is 16 ga., here's the 510 ground

IMG_0875_zps04dabcaz.jpg

and the positive connection, same as the dna75

IMG_0877_zpsg0n8hizh.jpg

and the 510 all connected

IMG_0878_zpsu8emdlxv.jpg

here is how tight the fit is, yet everything does fit comfortably and the batteries are easy to go in and out no problem

next up some side by side shots next the the dna75 and a few other mods for size comparison ...

ok, here is the dna200 compared to the dna75 and a few other mods for size comparison. the dna200 is not final polished or waxed yet, just finished final assembly on it, still need to cut a squonk hole and make a bottle door then I'll make a video for you guys...

here you can see where the difference in height comes from, it is simply the addition of the bottle and the bottle door, adds up to .83" taller and just a hair wider...

here is the difference between the first prototype and the final production design , it's just very slightly taller but well worth it for this awesome new 510 design, I'm very happy with the final version, feels great in hand :)

in the next few days I intend on showing all of my new products here that I have been developing in anticipation of beating the 8/8 deadline of the fda. as I understand it I do need to sell at least one of each before this deadline for it to be considered "on the market". I will not be selling these new products in any kind of volume in the beginning, and my main staples for now will be the dna75 mods and the dna200 mods shown here, which are currently available in exotic woods and also some plastics, including delrin and ultem, but I do still need to make a few tweeks to my machinery for the plastics, I intend on doing so before 8/8

the new products will eventually be rolled into my lineup as I come up with ways to build them more cost effectively for production, but for now I need to at least complete one of each of these products and bring them to market, even if initially I wind up taking a loss on each and every one, which is why they will not be available to the masses initially. if anyone wants any further info on any of this please pm me :)

as soon as I can, I will show more. basically I want to bring a mod to market with evolves 2 latest chips but I'm still waiting for delivery of them. the dna60 and the dna250. I'm not so excited about the dna250 because personally I think the dna200 is more than enough and it is what I intend on using for the foreseeable future in my mods, but having the option for the newer chip can't hurt.

the dna60 is a chip with the form factor of the older dna40's but it uses an external add on usb board giving it escribe capabilities and of course more power than the 40's and also the latest temp control algorithms. I need to at least bring these to market by the deeming date but again, they will not be generally available to the masses for some time yet.

I also have a few other things in the works that I will show here as soon as I can. one is a mod with a built in atomizer. one is a mod with a built in solid tank for squonking instead of the soft squeeze bottles. I hope I can get these things to market in time. part of me thinks the whole deeming thing is bs and will eventually get overturned, but just in case I'd rather try to at least get these to market before the deeming date. again don't hold your breath for any of these to become generally available as that will still take some time, I'm just trying to prepare for the future :)
