I have not smoked in my car or house for many, many years. It is nice when it gets cold out (and in Florida it does get cold sometimes) that I can go inside and vape away. Or in my car.

I was happy about vaping in bed too... Until I read the Cat Pg issue thing. Since my cat sleeps next to me I no longer vape in bed. I never noticed an issue prior to reading that and of course I did not blow vape in his face but I still worry that even blowing it just in the room could somehow harm him.

I am surprised at how many of you threw your butts out of car windows etc.

Good and bad. This delicate little cat (with tiny feet) is now happy to spend lots of time in my lap. Good, because I can't get up and do things when she's there, bad because that's a lot of lbs. per square inch on each of those feet.

Yeah almost as soon as I quit smoking, our cat decided that my right hand (smoking hand!) tasted just as good as my left. She's in the house a lot nowadays, but I figure if I'm not blowing it directly at her, she'll be ok. She doesn't like the vapor anyway; once when she was on my husband's bed while we were watching TV, some of the vapor went in her direction; she woke up and jumped down like her .... was on fire, and gave me a look that CLEARLY said "I was SLEEPING, thank you very much!" :D

Let's see:
1. No burned holes in my clothing (especially always on my favorite shirt of the moment)

2. No smells, no worries about vaping indoors at home

3. No problems with cig butts, lighters, ashes or ashtrays

4. Most importantly for me... No yellow fingers anymore! It might not make much sense for most but in the last couple of years I smoked natural tobacco leafs so the tar content must have been higher because my right index and middle fingers were really really yellow brown. Under bright sunshine / day, it looked horrible. With 38, I had the hand of a 90 year old smoker. I tried to wash, scrub with alcohol, lemon, anything but I never could get it off completely... Now with vaping... Gone!

I didn't mention the obvious advantages like health because that isn't what this topic is about.

I completely agree... I happened to notice that when I had been smoke-free just about 30 days, I no longer had that yellow finger, with the inner-edge of my right index fingernail completely brown... it was as clean looking as all my other fingernails! I was amazed at how fast that staining disappeared!

When I first laid the smokes down, my mom was rather disbelieving, with good reason, as I had told her not very long before that, when she asked if I was ever going to quit, I said "No." So she pops off with "If you're still smoke-free, in a month, I'll give you $100." So when I told her I had passed 30 days, and could I please have my $100, she says "I bet you're just saying that." So I showed her my fingernail -- that was all it took; she had smoked for 40 yrs before she finally quit, so she knew exactly what that non-brown fingernail meant. :D

I work within a major medical center that bans vaping inside, so I still take my two breaks per day on the sidewalk with the smokers. I no longer have to deal with the constant begging for cigarettes from patients, visitors, and random people getting off the bus up the street. Also, my car is much cleaner, as the Ford Escape's window angle blew ashes right back into the car unless you flicked within a 2" area.

I know that this has already been addressed, but being from rural, northern Michigan, I've gotta say it.

1# Not having to trek 25 feet away from my workplace (Or any business. City Law), through a foot and a half of snow, in -10 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT and -20 WINDCHILL from a constant breeze, all of that just to light up a coffin nail and stand there for 5 minutes, several times a day. None of what I said was exaggerated, believe it or not. Every time, when I would get in from my smoke break, my face, feet, and worst of all, my fingers, would be numb, stinging, and not far off from being frost bitten (I've cut it VERY close a few times). Now, I just vape in the warm break room, with a newfound extra 5 minutes that I used to spend putting on several layers of winter gear. God, things are so much better now.

I know there are tons of other benefits from switching over, but that benefit was just the biggest and best for me.
    Happy vaping, everyone!

A friend of mine bought a brand new Mustang decades ago. Fastback. Finished the paperwork, got in his brand new chick magnet, lit a cigarette and burned a hole in the seat before he got out of the dealerships parking lot. I told him that's what you get for buying a new car.

I used to dread sneezing. When I sneezed I felt like someone hit me in the chest with a sledge hammer. Hint: maybe I should stop smoking. Nope. Tried to stop sneezing. It was easier.

I've saved $10,000 since quitting smoking and I'm still broke.

Sometimes I carry a non-functioning 26650 mod in my pocket now just for the visuals. False advertising, I say. So now, I just carry a cigalike battery in my pocket. Even now my gf says, you wish. I say no, you wish!
    Sorry, ADD drifting.

As a former Iowa state employee, where there is no smoking on state property, I know exactly what you mean! Weeks of sub-zero temperatures, ice everywhere, and there I was, trekking down the block to have a smoke. Right now, the weather is spectacularly comfortable in PA, so I've been going out with the smokers (who all have questions about this vaping thing), but come winter, I'll take a few hits in the stairwell and call it a break.

Hahaha, I completely relate! Although I haven't been smoking for nearly as long (about a decade or so), I find that white tips did not make my fingers nearly as yellow as brown tips... That might be placebo though. :(

I *know* that's no exaggeration; we visited Rogers City, MI, once to visit my husband's sister, and let her see our son when he was first born (we lived in Pontiac)... this was JULY... and it felt like FEBRUARY! Lake Huron looked like the ocean, with the wind and waves breaking on the shore. I was appalled (and freezing... I was dressed for July, not FEBRUARY!!).

Pretty up there though; much more scenic than industrial-hell Detroit/Pontiac/environs.

But I agree; we had the worst winter in over 30 yrs down here, and I was tired of freezing my bits off, out on the porch, and all that on-with-the-coat and off-with-the-coat got really old!

I also forgot to mention: I had always felt a certain social pressure to say yes when someone would bum me a smoke. Needless to say, some people really knew how to get under my skin. Say no more! I no longer get bummed for smokes, except for the occasional friend who desires a taste of "what smells so good". I mean, I dont have a phobia of germs but I really do appreciate not having any smokes to give away, they were so ....... expensive.

That was another of my major reasons, when I first started -- the guy who lived next door then, he bummed smokes off me EVERY SINGLE DAY... sometimes would show up with a handful of change. When I finally got a *real* mod, I gave him the Blu I had bought, because it sucked, but I thought it might keep him off my back for a while. I even gave him the last unopened pack I had. A week later, he sees me at the mailbox and says "you don't have any cigarettes?" I *SCREAMED* at him "I GAVE YOU MY LAST PACK!! GET A JOB OR QUIT SMOKING!!!"

Also there was some thieving punk on my street, pilfering my half-smoked ones from my ashtray on the porch -- I smoked 120's JUST BECAUSE they were so long, I could smoke them twice and save money, so that REALLY ...... me off. The last one that got stolen, I screamed up the street "ENJOY YOUR LUNG CANCER! I'M QUITTING, YOU [SO-AND-SO]!!"

Now, we have ADT, with ADT signs all over the property -- haven't seen any pilferage in a while. :D

No more being begged for a cigarette was a good one! I had a homeless guy look at my mod once and say "every one is on these now!"

Clean inside car windows. They only need to be cleaned because of dust, mostly from driving through construction sites. I also save money on rags.
Clean walls. No more taking an entire weekend or two every year to clean walls and ceilings. More savings on rags, sponges and warm water.
My paintings will live longer. They might never be worth any money, but I'll save money on replacing them.
Less time spent cleaning the TV and computer.
I'm saving at least a dollar a month by not needing to hang a sheet of Bounce in every closet, not to mention how much I save on incense when I expect visitors.(6 years and counting for a new shiny!!!)
My place now smells like whatever is in it: food, incense, laundry, freshly cut or drilled wood, lemon pledge, forgotten garbage or beer farts.
I now know when to take the garbage out or when to burn more incense.
No more tobacco dust in my pockets and drawers.
Dogs don't avoid my left hand anymore (not all of us are right handed).
I can vape in coworker's cars and in my relative's homes.
I can vape while walking to any door even if it's only seconds away from my parking spot, contrary to standing still or moving real slow to finish a stinky cigarette (I quit smoking in the car before vaping).

LOL I've been sitting in my car with the window open in a parking lot when waiting for hubby to run into a store to get something, and while vaping the cloud would go out the window. Every now and then someone will come by and try and bum a cigarette.... haha, I kind of wave my pv around and shrug, then say sorry, I don't smoke anymore. :)
