But the winter's are soooo bitter Lynda...very rough..the summers are great, but seem short lived....

I guess I don't think about winter in the mountains. I'm sure they are brutal. One of my "bucket list" items was to see the Rocky Mountains (thanks John Denver) lol Anyway, I got my wish a couple of years ago when we flew to Vegas for my daughter's wedding. I was blessed with having a layover at the Denver airport. When the plane lifted up over those majestic mountains, I cried like a baby. That was the most breathtaking sight I have ever seen. I was amazed at the snow capped mountains and several feet below was lush green vegetation. It seemed the best of both worlds but it was also May and the snowstorms had ceased for the season. The Delta is a different kind of place. I live eight miles from the Mississippi River. The land is totally flat as far as you can see. I do love it when the cotton fields are in full bloom. It looks like snow in the heat of the summer. The really bad thing about this area is the mosquito plague. You can hardly enjoy the evening hours unless you relish the idea of being dinner. They are big and ferocious! We pay for mosquito control on our water bill all year long but it seems to do little more than P*ss them off.

Wow...I guess every place has its good & bad Lynda...The cotton blossoms sound beautiful, but skeeters don't...we have whats called no-see-ums...can't see them, but you sure feel them when they git ya!!!!!LOL...
