I had to grind off the powder coat on a few because of issues with the clear coat being to thick. I had 2 choices. One was to ship it . The other was to strip it and hold up your order another week. I'm sorry but they all will be unpainted on the inside if the head caps are coated or you have clear coat, its the only way they fit. Much like the ugly resistor under the cap, you cant see it when its together. Remember this is a first run so there may be issues I never considered . I only want happy customers so give me a call so I can make it right for you.

Personally for me, I'm more for functionality than looks. Regardless of what this looks like on the inside, a long a it performs, I'm still down for it!

im still waiting on one of the minis, and if that is the worst thing wrong with it, ill be completely happy with it. right now, there is nothing else like the glv3 and youre always gonna hit snags when you are putting something new out there and not recycling the same ideas everyone else has done a thousand times. from what i can see, you did an awesome job and im glad im getting one of the first glv3's

Alright, cross-posting the pics I posted in the "don't hold your breath" thread.

Here's my shiny new first run Nebula Green GLV-3...

...and a close up of the custom laser etching:

vaping some TopVapor Fried Apple through a bottom-fed carto and she's hitting very nicely. I think I'm gonna try some Ms. T's Strawberry Lemonade or Snickerdoodle Cookies next.

Got to be honest Jay I think informing people of this would've been a smart idea instead of just letting people find out for themselves. It's kind of irritating and disappointing to find that a device that you have been waiting a fairly long time and paid a lot of money for is going to look as rough as a the back of a brickies van on the inside. I realise that this may attract incoming from your fan club and I also realise that this is purely cosmetic and in no way effects the functionality of the device but it shows a lack of respect to your customers that you didn't inform them of this when you realised that there was going to be a problem. I would have much preferred a quick 2 seconds of your time to post a quick "sorry guys there is a slight hitch" then to find this out when the device arrives.

Hind-sight is 20/20. Perhaps a heads-up would have been nice but would it really have been a deal-breaker? If I had received such information through the forum, email or whatever, my only response would have been along the lines of "umm...okay... thanks. When will mine be shipping?"

And realistically, a "quick sorry guys there's a slight hitch" wouldn't have been so quick if many people shared your concern and Jay got an influx of "what about mine" emails, PMs, or phone calls and it slowed production.

With any first run of a new product there are bound to be some issues that some see as problems and others don't. Sure, it would be nice if the inside looked as sweet as the outside but as you pointed out, it doesn't affect the performance and in my opinion, it really isn't a cosmetic issue as the "grinding" isn't visible when the device is in use.

It's unfortunate that you're dissatisfied and it will be interesting to find out what other new GLV-3 owners think. I'm not suggesting you're wrong, I'm only sharing my opinion and asking others for theirs.

I realise what your saying scottitude and I am not trying to cause a drama I just think that it would've been a damn site more professional to have informed people first. Also powder coat only retains it's strength and durability if it is completely intact grinding the inside away without re-sealing will comprise it's integrity which will eventually Lead to cracking and flaking around the whole device. I know that customer loyalty let's people forgive slight defects in a product both cosmetically and in performance I just think that Jay should have had enough respect for his customers to let them know in advance. I am not saying that it's a deal breaker it's just very disappointing. If you bought a new car and opened the boot to find bare metal no Capet and rough trim you wouldn't be happy and would have to say something even though it doesn't effect performance.

I know mine will be ground because I requested every part of mine be powdered and clear coated. Am I disappointed? Nope. Do I feel disrespected? Nope. Am I worried about the powder coat flaking away? Nope. I haven't been dealing with Jay and Sarah from day one, but long enough to know that IF I have an issue with the product that I bought from them, all I have to do is give Jay a call and it will be taken care of. If this turns out to be a complete deal breaker for you, just put it in the classifieds. You'll get your money back in a few hours and someone who missed the first run can have it and enjoy it for what it is. No harm no foul. This is nothing like "The mod which shall not be named" incident. Take a step back and ask yourself if you really care. If you do, sell it. If you don't, well then, what's all the fuss?
