Right now, the FDA is working on legislation that will classify electronic cigarettes like all other tobacco products. This includes allowing only face-to-face sales, no internet sales. No flavored nicotine liquid, only tobacco or menthol flavor. This is a serious threat.

PLEASE, if you haven't already done so, join CASAA. It's free to join.

Please join us for the bi-weekly CASAA Member Meeting tonight at 7:30 EST. If you cannot access the AnyMeeting program for some reason, email your 10-digit phone number to board@casaa.org and you will still be able to participate (audio only). We will call your phone when the meeting starts.

Bumpin for the cause....

But, on a serious note... I have to wonder now, is the time to "stock up" upon us? I defiantly want to get to writing and e-mailing some letters. Wondering when such legislation is actually on its way. Is now the time to urge politicians to try to be..... I dunno... human beings to their fellow human beings about this?

Doesn't the President of the USA smoke an e-cig? What is he saying about all this crap?
No, there has never been any report that Obama has ever used, or even tried an electronic cigarette.
We do know that he was sent at least two of them, but no word on whether he even opened the packages or not.

OK so it's not just me getting the sever error.

I did the next best thing and fired off emails to the two senators and congressman for my district. Also said I would forward them information and places where they could actually talk to people who use PVs.

Change.org petition to the FDA.

This guy makes a good point about calling your elected officials as well as signing petitions and emailing them.

The idea of trying to add extra taxes and banning Personal Vapers will be detrimental to the hundreds of thousands of user already in the United States. We have given up tobacco. If a ban is to go into effect for electronic cigarettes (the name itself is a misnomer) than the ban should go for all nicotine products including gums, inhalers, lozenges, cigarettes, et al.

Claiming health risks and that children are attracted to Personal Vapors without anything but conjecture is not in the public interest.

What seems to be behind the bans on Personal Vapor Units is that big tobacco and big pharmaceutical companies are losing money. The FDA is supposed to be in place to protect the consumer, not to pander to lobbyists with big pocketbooks.

If the argument is made that flavors may be attractive to children why are can someone buy flavored liquor at a liquor store? Shouldn't the only alcohol available be pure grain alcohol?

Obesity is a bigger problem in our society than Personal Vapers will ever be. Why aren't high sugar cereals being banned? Surely the marketing of McDonalds high fat food to children in an obese culture is a major problem. Shouldn't we ban Happy Meals?

There is no logic to the infringement of rights on adults who choose Personal Vapers over tobacco products.

I have written to my congressional representatives about this issue.

There are already enough laws on the books barring children from products containing nicotine. More are not needed.

Submitting comments seems to be working now! Please don't hold back you want to comment!! (just politely, rude comments are naturally ignored)

Exactly, to play the game you have to make your point. We are all adults here and being rude will only draw more ire. We are the powerless and have the most to loose. Hopefully reason will work. A calm and collected argument carried more weight than a rant coming from passion.
