While I agree on the 'follow their own rules' thing in principal, I don't think I would do much to basically say, "Hey, you guys aren't being a PITA enough to me like you said you would"..

I know what you're saying, but I'm just trying to get my money's worth for what I paid for.

If I am forced to pay an extra fee to them for special service that is obligatory, then I would like to receive what I have paid for.

It's like walking into McDonalds and ordering a hamburger and McDonalds has a sign stating that everybody who orders a hamburger must pay $1 more to cover the cheese surcharge on their hamburger, but when I get the hamburger I find out that there is no cheese on it at all and the whole thing was a huge scam.

Only time I would be pist if they didn't try to get my signature is if I specifically went out of my way to purchase sig service. If I'm forced to purchase sig service but the mail man decides he doesn't want to bother, all I care about is that I get my stuff. I see no need in such a case to report it and get my mail man fired or reprimanded.

The hamburger analogy isn't the same thing.

In the past, most places that I've ordered from didn't have any signature options in their shipping, because I probably would've chosen it and I always closely look at the shipping options when ordering.

In my area, it is best to have secure options, so I kind of like the signature requirement now and I do believe that they should do their jobs properly and deliver the items to me according to the law and according to what they promised and what I was charged extra for.

Due to Covid most major carriers are not doing personal signatures.
Not sure what USPS is doing now.
How UPS is responding to the Coronavirus | UPS - United States
    They do say this tho...
"In the interest of employee and customer safety, UPS’s Signature Required guidelines are temporarily being adjusted such that consignees will no longer need to sign for UPS Signature Required deliveries. Despite this adjusted process the driver will still need to make contact with the consignee. The consignee must, at the time of delivery, acknowledge that UPS is making a delivery and, if applicable, show government issued photo ID."

Yes, the virus has sure changed a lot of things.

The dumb, corrupt and incompetent lawmakers should have thought of that before coming up with the vape mail ban and requiring signatures.

I think there is going to be a distinction between signature required and adult signature required on how they handle delivery, more likely to get your adult signature? If USPS performance is any indicator there will be no consistency. My mail carrier would never leave a signature required package if it wasn't signed for by someone here, just a notice on the door.

Here they dont even go out for delivery you get a notice to pick it up at the post office. That was true before the plague hit.

If you have informed delivery in your area, you should be able to have the package held for pickup.

    https://informeddelivery.usps.com/box/pages/intro/start.action

I am signed up for all of the mail services, including informed delivery from USPS.

I get pictures of my mail in my inbox everyday, letting me know about any mail and packages coming, but most of the time there is no option for having a package held or picked up at the post office. The last time I got a pink slip from USPS was many years ago. These days, your package will be delivered and left, regardless if you are there or not. I suppose that USPS routines vary greatly, depending on where somebody is located.

The one service that I am able to get packages re-directed to another site for pickup is Fed-Ex.

I also order a lot from Amazon, and I get those delivered to secure Amazon lockers by me, of course there isn't that much in the way of vaping stuff on Amazon.

Okay, this is weird. I had a package from River Supply due today UPS. I got an email saying it would be there soon and a link to watch the truck on a GPS map - which I did. For several hours, well past the due time, I watched the guy come as close as a block from my place only to take off across town. This kept happening over and over until it was over 5 hours late for delivery. Into the 6th hour I get a knock at the door (truck at this point is still across town) and it's my package, sitting outside the door and a FedEx truck rolling out of the parking lot. The GPS map on the UPS site changes to a "Your package has been delivered" notice.

    WTH??

Yeah I posted about this a month ago, about the GPS UPS map. It's a worthless "tool" because just becuase the truck is 1 block away it doesn't mean you are going to get your package anytime in the next 7 hours lol. The truck goes all over.

But what I don't understand is...are you saying that UPS was supposed to deliver but it ended up being FedEx delivering it? If so, was the label a fedex label or a UPS label.

    Wow.
That is some serious Delivery Logistics Hoodoo going on there, lol.
    That is bizarre.
I get this visual of some UPS Dude stopping a Fedex Truck and saying, 'oh hey man can you deliver this', lmao.
COVID has stuff sooo messed up, I'm not surprised at all by this.
I've had stuff say that it was coming either Smartpost (Fedex to USPS) or Surepost (UPS to USPS) and the Post Office never sees the Package - either Fedex or UPS directly delivers it and I'm like
