I'm not sure if the departure from Beijing is for another delivery attempt, or if it's going back to the warehouse in Shenzhen.

That would be crazy (for lack of a better word because it's too early for English right now) if the packages are being sent back to China only to be shipped right back to the USA.

It would appear that my package was also sent back to China, and I'm not sure if the departure from Beijing is for another delivery attempt, or if it's going back to the warehouse in Shenzhen. The last update was 2 weeks ago. Hopefully with CNY being done, more info will come soon.

Since your package Started in Zhuhai (or there abouts) I'd say it is going to Go Back to Zhuhai from Beijing. Which is like 1,400 Miles or so.

I most certainly agree. I hope those packages are wearing seat belts, cuz this could be an interesting ride.

I'm beginning to wonder now if the last tracking entry "return to proper investment" is just a poor translation for "return to recipient" (me). Maybe when it gets to the USA it will then be sent back again and just stay in an endless loop of USA to China to USA to China to USA...etc.

Or maybe it's being sent to Michael Bloomberg.

But seriously, all I want at this point is to know what is happening and why.

From the carrier's perspective, "proper investment" could also be the vendor using their service.

Your/our packages are going to have a lengthy story to tell. They're also likely to be covered in an extensive amount of shipping labels, lol.

fwiw, I have had several packages over the past 2 years that were returned to China. These were not vape related nor from a vendor of anything vape related. In one case, the item showed up 7 months later lol. I had already done a charge back to cc at that point.

I hear this is common when you order certain major US brand products from China and US customs has reason to believe they are counterfeit. But this is on the Customs end, never gets to USPS. But from what I understand, in a case like this, they don't get sent back to China, they are "destroyed".

This is why my shipment issue makes me believe it's a vape issue because it cleared customs and went to a USPS distro before it got sent back to China. It seems US customs had no part in this.

This has me wondering what they wrote on the package for its content description.

My package is 41 days in transit. If I don't get a confirmation that it was returned or that a new shipping attempt is being made by day 60, I'll be doing a charge back as well.

Yeah, that's what I'm wondering too. Although they said they no longer are declaring as "ecig/vaporizer", I don't necessarily believe them. They did not tell me what exactly they did declare.

The package that I ordered a week after the one that's currently playing Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego has already been received and was described as a product in the field of cosmetology. Both packages contained strictly mods. I can't imagine a week earlier that they would have labeled it any differently, but who knows. They could be using various descriptions to see which label descriptions are working and which aren't, or our packages could have simply been the subjects to randomized searches.

Yes, this could be the case. "Filters" was what fasttech was using up until 2020/Covid. Then they had to switch "metal tubes", something to do with PPE import/export restrictions and China customs was rejecting export packages with "filters" declaration. But they are back to using "filters" again.

The random search theory doesn't tickle my fancy because Customs does random searches, my package cleared customs. USPS is not allowed to do random searches, at least that is what I hear...unless they good reason to believe illegal items are in the package. However, I do happen to know USPS does do random searches for packages shipped by Media Mail or Bound and Printed Matter, because people use those low cost services against the rules to save money on package shipping.

    Who knows!!!!!

Sorry, I know this is off-topic but I haven't had to order for 11 months and am distraught (though I should have known!) to learn of the current vape mail status. I switched to unflavored nicotine base 2+ years ago and have been perfectly happy w my orders from Nude Nicotine but now find out they're not shipping :(. I'm now following UncleJunkle (thank you SO MUCH for your super helpful posts) and am hoping either Z-Lee or UncleJunkle would let me know where I can buy reputable unflavored nicotine base - or lead me to another ECF forum for info.

As of a few weeks ago, Delosi Labs was supposedly shipping to just about anyone and they also happen to be the cheapest. Not the most well-known supplier but I can't find complaints about them. Their new site is NicBase.com You can see a list of others here... List of US Retailers Still Shipping 100mg Nicotine Base | E-Cigarette Forum

They did, lol. Everything filters. I haven't ordered from them in a few months, but I just put in an order a few days ago. Still haven't received a tracking number however. I do like that they send you a picture of the package with its label on it when they send it out - sometimes you can read what they labeled it, sometimes you cannot.

You have a point, but who's to stop them from suspecting anything "looks fishy". If I remember correctly in the wording of the final release of the mail ban on the 21st of Oct, 2021, they amended standard searches and seizure practices specifically for USPS. You have reasonable suspicion, and probable cause; the latter legally allowing for the act of search and seizure, and the former requiring a warrant to do so. They used the terminology "probable suspicion" (or "reasonable cause" - I just remember it was a combination of both terms because I wrote about it) which to me tells me they've legally allowed search and seizure practices under reasonable suspicion conditions, empowering the USPS strictly for vape mail. At least that's my theory for now.
