I just got the news...and BOY! is he p*ssed...to put it mildly :p It's probably his blood pressure medication that has soooo lowered his B/P that he isn't getting an adequate blood supply to his kidneys <sigh> He's upset because he has NOTHING to do (we left his computer at home and he has only his e-book with hundreds of books and the 900 channels on the hospital cable system for entertainment...poor baby :p) AND they are turning away people at the hospital because they are full <sigh, sigh> He is, to say the very least, very much like a child in that respect...he's feeling guilty about having a room with no real reason other than balancing his medications and *I* have control of his home computer AND Skyrim ;)

In other words...this is the best news possible :) They even cleared him to take limited amounts of his gout medication when he gets an attack :) All he has to do now is find the right combination of blood pressure meds and he'll be fine :) His doctor's over-reacted to a series of tests but they can be forgiven considering his past history :)

But, I can NEVER thank you all enough :) You've been a blessing to me and I'll never forget it :) If ever I can repay your kindness, please let me know :) Good friends like you don't happen often enough in life and I truly appreciate you and consider you a blessing :)

Now I am going to play Skyrim and level my character HIGHER than his and really raise his blood pressure :lol::lol:

Gout? DH gets a touch from time to time - some people seem to have a predisposition.

Friday night here. DH has gone straight from work to spend night on 'boat'. Here's what I want to know: if Friday is his busy day, he's flat out all day preparing the place for the weekend, if leaving work on time on a Tuesday or Wednesday so he can come dancing with me means he has to work extra hard and he just can't do it, how come his kitchen was locked at 4pm (not even 5pm) this afternoon. Hmmm?

Well, whatever. DD & I had a yummy spag bog with loads of cheese grilled on top. We stuck my ipod on the stereo & pumped out some loud (nonclassical, non-ABBA or Elton John) music. Going to hit it with some old KISS next. Then we shall watch whatever we want on tv. And then I shall sprawl all over the king size bed and not care if I snore. So there. Enjoy the mozzies etc on boat, DH.

Do you think I'm getting a little resentful about 'boat'?

Yesterday my order of gold wow blanks arrived (horray!). And Java Mint juice. Do I like it? Nope. I don't think I'll order any more USA juices. That's 0/2 I've liked so far. It'll have to be something really special to tempt me back. Oh well, just nice to have , my gold blanks again. See y'all tomorrow sometime. Enjoy your Fridays.

Thanks again, dear friends :) You support means the world to me :) I talked to him a couple of hours ago and he was, to quote my grandmother, still "as mad as a little wet hen" :) That's pretty angry ;) They wanted to put leads all over his body to do an overnight heart study, which would have meant shaving his legs, arms, chest, etc...needless to say, that got a resounding, "NO!" But, he did consent to a drip so he's connected to an IV now :) I have to say, his heat is in excellent shape and there was no need for the study...except to cover the hospital's you-know-what :) He should be home tomorrow around noon :)

Morandir, I'm not nearly brave enough to do that...but the dragon count is now 2 for me...zip for him :) I consider that "bragging rights" of the highest order :) He'll soon overtake my little elf because he is so much better at this than I am :)

Waylon, yep...dreadful disease, isn't it? He says that air hurts him so that's pretty serious :( Gout is a strange disease...similar to arthritis and yet also like kidney disorders...DH told me it is often called "the professor's disease," but for what reason, I haven't a clue :p He thought it fitting that his occupation and affliction should be the same  I agree with you, there is often no rhyme or reason for why attacks happen...just to bring misery, I guess <sigh> You and your husband have my sympathy because it's incredibly painful :(

Again, my sincere thanks to all of you wonderful people :) I felt your warm thoughts around me all through the day :)

Katz, I find the tobacco taste very strong in the USA juices and the Java is heavy on "black coffee" BUT it blends like a charm with other coffee/mint flavors from the V4L line :) I get more of an analog kick from the USA line so I do some mixing and have vaping heaven :) Hope you can find a signature blend of your own :)

As for the boat...I had one of those in my life, too  Hard to compete with something like that! So, I got revenge of a sorts...I bought one of my own :) Yep, 5 of my friends joined me in buying a houseboat for "girls night out" and just to drive our husbands crazy :) It wasn't expensive when split 6-ways since it was an old houseboat and it didn't have to leave the dock so we never bought gas or had the engine repaired :) We had slumber parties, cookouts, and 24-hour card game marathons :p They were begging us to let them spend time with us ;)

Katz,You may have to sink it.

Good Morning V4Lers!!!

My Dad was in the hospital to have his pacemaker changed.I called 2x yesterday to chat with him and try to keep him company a bit. When I called back, several times,he didnt answer the phone.I was getting a bit worried and called the main hospital phone. They said his room was switched and the woman said she would call back with a number. She didnt and I fell asleep.Poor guy is probably wondering why I never called to say goodnight. If he only knew I was so afraid he died when I couldnt get him.Ill have to go try again this morning. My Dad was an only child and very spoiled so he is a very self centered adult. He just doesnt think about other people or issues they may have. Its not his fault. His mother babied him until he was 45 years old and he never had to care about anything else. When his Mom passed I inherited him.He is always needy and a bit of a pain in the ....,but he is my Dad and I feel bad for him.He almost doesnt know how to survive or function alone.I do all I can to help.THIS IS WHY i say dont spoil your children, teach them to make choices and teach them to see the other people around them and share and care for others. We dont ever want to send our children alone into a world that they cant function in.OK,Im done yacking.(((Hugs!)))Ill go call my Dad.

Morning everyone. :)

Ms. Katz boats are surprisingly easy to sink.... Just saying. Would let Java Mint steep a bit, calms down the coffee and brings out the mint.

Ms. Kanza other than his being mad, glad he's doing well. Any eta on his return home?

Ms. Keyzy hope he's ok and you get to talk to him this morning. Wish you could have just one medical drama free day....

Time to take Loki to the vet. Just check up and rabies shot time. :)

Good Morning everyone, I am so happy to be here with all the rest of the pet lovers. It was around this time last year that we lost Tom. I am putting an address below, please join me by making your contribution to P.E.T.T.

Kanza, I take "mad as a wet hen" as a good sign! Glad he'll be home soon.

Keyzy, I can relate to the room change scare. It's amazing how a small change/miscommunication in hospital care can lead to a lot of family stress for no reason. I'm happy it turned out to be nothing!

Morandir, it must be that time of year for the vet trips/shots. Even though I don't know Loki, I think I'd rather take him than my two cats. Cat's just don't travel well, to say the least. My last three trips I've endured three seperate and different bodily functions (the cats, not me!) occurring during the car trip home. The :censored: is literally scared out of them! I feel so bad........and there's one more next week, for a follow-up blood test. I hate it almost as much as they do.

I hope you all have a great Friday.

katz....you forget we dont know what that aussy food is ? what did you eat ? ;) I have no idea except the cheese part lol
the boat : men are selfish ..sorry guys ,but the older my hubby gets ,the more selfish he gets and does what he wants only.
I should say most are selfish but ....most over 40 are selfish .Go ahead and flame me lol ..if youre 30 youre prob still ok .
@keyzy ..happened to me too except in person :( my dad could have passed anytime and i went in as i did daily ..no one called me to tell me of room change :( and i walked into his room not knowing ...saw the empty room ,made bed ,almost passed out right there ..ran to nurses station ....5 minutes it felt like to look up his records ...."oh we moved him" to room xxx....Iam sure you can imagine what i felt like saying once i got over my own heart palpitations. Its inexcusable that they didnt call to tell family of room change in both instances ,esp when dealing with heart problems .I hope he is ok soon !

Kind of funny to follow up a post about men's selfishness with this one. I promise they're not related! I just HAPPENED to log on right after you posted that

I just got back from my OFFICIAL 2nd employer!!! I now have 2 jobs! And due to our current financial woes and xmas coming, I picked up as much as I could. So, next week and the week after, I will be working 64 hours each week. Including Thanksgiving. Not my idea of fun, but I should clear about double what I make in any other 2 week period. So BACK OFF BILL COLLECTORS!!! Your money is coming! And dear sweet wife of mine, start daydreaming about the house we may own in 2013!

In other, more supportive-of-waylonjessi4ever's-assessment, news "lol" I managed to find a copy of SKYRIM available to rent from the local Family Video. So yeah... time to go lock myself in a room and focus on myself for a while

Naw ..thats not the kind of selfishness i mean ...,maybe its a part of life i don't know and natural after kids are raised and youre tired .Time out is one thing and i do it too .:) mine is an only child raised also by a mom who overdid the doting and is now a monster lol.But my son is a little that way too ,I have doubts as to whether he'll ever get "hitched " requires so much compromise .....I just think they don't know how to do it :(
I know men need their "caves " and that's all they are doing .:) But ya'll still can act like children when you don't get your way :) :p
