If all the regulations go into effect still have 2 yearsk up. I don't start hoarding until its for certain. But should the worst happen il get a fair amount of mechs/rdas and probably a few more vv mods. Batteries wire cotton are safe but liquid il probably stock up on Abunch of diy and freeze it . And a decent amount of my favorite juices of course

Without getting into the mechs and such I think they way they will hit us with that 400% sales tax is on the one item they can ..the nicotine...everything else is just a battery and wire with a button...you have that and nicotine your sitting pretty..my next purchase is going to be a couple of gallons of nicotine and maybe vg/pg just to have..heck if the Zombies hit I will be set either way lol..good luck

I bought a couple of Twists and Spinners, too. I plan on at least two more Itaste vv/vws (total of 4 unused in box). I am going to buy another one or two MVPs. Throw in a mini Provari and that APV Mod I just linked to, I should be good for at least 5 years or more!

I am getting plenty of Nic to go with what I have. Not worried about things that can be used for other things, like cotton, wire, flavoring, pg/vg. I just want to make sure "they" can't interfere with my vaping.

Somebody else mentioned this earlier, but sticking batteries on the shelf unused is a bad idea. The vv and mvp have internal batteries. In 5 years when you open it, it will likely not charge up. If I was prepping, I would look for mods with replaceable batteries only.

Here is my prediction, based on the idiotic consumer behavior and naked, raw profiteering seen post-Sandy Hook:

The FDA will publish something that has no chance whatsoever of being passed and/or implemented, and there will be a panic. People will buy up all of the nicotine, batteries, kanthal and pg/vg they can find. Some will be hoarding, some will be hoping to flip the supplies quickly and make a few easy bucks on the panic. In a month, nicotine will be impossible to find....even though zero steps to make it unavailable will have been taken at that point by the US Government. The producers will recognize the market forces, and the price of nicotine, which will be mysteriously all but impossible to find through normal supply channels and snapped up immediately upon any 'limited release,' will shoot through the roof. When the situation reaches a kind of statis, with the FDA backing off the more egregious restrictions and taxes, nicotine and e-juice will remain difficult to find, and the price will never come back down to the 'pre-panic' levels we see today.

And you know who will get rich? Not the short-con profiteers who snapped up all the nicotine - they'll take a bath on their purchase just like the d-bags who bought 40k rounds of .22 long rifle ammo the day after Sandy Hook. It'll be the larger manufacturers and distributors.

Everyone, take a deep breath, stay abreast of developments, read the entire text of everything put out (NOT the commentary attached to it), get involved, stay involved, but don't feed into this. Please. My wallet begs you, do NOT artificially inflate the price of this thing we call a 'hobby' but is in actuality probably saving our lives.

I am NOT going to panic. Two years of planning does not make a panic. YOU do YOU, and I will do ME. If I want to stock up, I will. I asked for no lectures, just helpful suggestions.

Not every post is an opportunity to lecture someone on what they "should" be doing. If you had followed your own advice of "read the entire text," you would know that.

My stock will not go to waste as I will USE everything I purchase. I am not trying to inflate prices or turn a profit, only to enjoy my vaping without interruption or price fluctuation.

TIA.

I am fairly well stocked already but am currently loading up on mech mods/ apv's that use rechargeable batteries, kicks, and RBA's like the Kayfun. If you haven't already- start practicing building coils. I have been using the same old vision vivi novas for the last year and a half so I always get them when on sale as they last me with rebuilt heads, have about 25 of them now. I like the vamo with the aluminum shell, the ones I have already lasted me a year now so have 6 now with more on the way. Besides nic I think everything else should be available but I always figure just in case. stock up

Assuming the worst-case scenario here: vaping has been banned worldwide, full stop:

Hardware - not really a problem if you're handy with tool. After all, any half-competent handyman can whip up a functional mod in half a day. It's only a resistor with a battery after all. And if you can do basic electronics, you can make a VV mod very easily too.

Nicotine on the other end? Hmm, now that's a problem. You can't really grow tobacco in you backyard and extract nicotine from the leaves unless you have land, a lot of time and dedication, a lab, a solid degree in chemistry, and you know what you're doing.

So I say concentrate on hoarding that first.

Personally, I have a variety of mods and toppers of all kinds (just because it's easier to buy now than rolling you own). I bought a lot of things from different manufacturers to hedge the risks of mechanical and electrical failure, and to cover the planned obsolescence that's built into all of these devices. I use some of them and store the rest, and in the meantime, I'm currently designing a fully open-source vaping system that only relies on things you can find at Ratshack and at the hardware store.

As for juice, I have 3 liters of nic base and a bunch of flavorings in the freezer that I deplete and replenish on a first-batch-in first-batch-out basis. If I see our powers-that-be start getting nastier, I'll immediately increase my stockpile before it's too late. And if I run out, I will go black market.

Anything to stay off cigarettes...

I feel confident enough that someone out there will design a variable powered flashlight that can have different bulb attachments screwed on and off with a 510 connection. They will come in a variety of sizes to accomodate different sized batteries with different charge spans. Some will also come with internal batteries that can be charged via USB.

As a Vamo fan, I've been ordering some extras for stock piling. As they come in, I put a battery in and a topper on to verify that they are working correctly. Once confirmed as good I put them back in the box and into the drawer. I've also found clearos, both polycarb and glass, that I like so I have stocked up on them also. Naturally I have a good amount of nic in the freezer also. I've been doing this over several months. If the FDA or state laws don't turn out to be as drastic and punitive as most, including me think, then I will still be vaping for free for the next few years.

Any PV with built in electronics is going to wear down over time if not used. A mech is just a tube that you put batteries in, some have better top caps and bottom switches. It's a matter of pref for most users like everything else. Batteries will always be available as they are used for so many other things. Mods came about because of flashlight enthusiasts building their own. A mech with a kick is almost the same as any apv. As much as I like my smaller spinners they will quit on me eventually no matter how many I have.
