I had been looking for vinyl to cover my Vamos with, and came across these 4" by 8" sample sheets on Amazon:
Silver 2 pieces 4" x 8" Sample Size 3D Twill Weave White Silver Carbon Fiber Vinyl Sheet : Amazon.com : Automotive
Black 2 pieces 4" x 8" Sample Size 3D Twill Weave Glossy Black Carbon Fiber Vinyl Sheet : Amazon.com : Automotive
I thought it was worth $3 to cover 2 Vamos instead of buying the large 12" X 60" sheets. BTW, I think the same seller has other colors on Amazon as well for those of you seeking other colors.

I plan to use these templates from peraspera:

Thanks peraspera for making the templates!

I can't believe I missed these. Great find!

Edit: Sorted this seller's results so that the samples are listed first. There are many colors and styles! One 4X8 piece $2.99 or less in most cases, free shipping:

thanks Stoneface just what I was looking for
No problem - I was looking too. I got silver and black carbon fiber samples in today myself. I'll try to get to covering one of two Vamos in the next couple of days. The gold/purple chameleon carbon fiber that ninfreak found on ebay looks really interesting - kinda wish I'd gotten that too. I suppose I can always get it in the future.

I wrapped my vamo in that "white-silver" from amazon. I call it grey. Pic in the wrapped vamo thread.
I hadn't looked at this thread until now - thanks for that. Yours look great, you did a clean install job. The description of "white silver" seemed a little dicey, but I think it looks pretty cool - better in person than photos. It also really helps to see your finished product.

Mine will be similar - I want to eliminate the seam between the head cap and the body section with the buttons. I want to try to skin at least the bottom of the battery cap (with a vent hole) to try to protect from scratches. We'll see how it goes. I could be trying to cut the darned thing out now, if I weren't procrastinating on the forum

Carbon fiber is some remarkable material. Can it be molded to shape and glued into place? It seems very flexible in the products that use it.
I have no idea about the "real deal" carbon fiber other than watching someone else apply it on the teevee. They use layers, epoxies, vacuum equipment, and all manner of other things to get a finished product. We're faking it with self-adhesive carbon fiber-look vinyl sheets. You can see examples here -->http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vamo/390232-show-off-your-wrapped-vamo.html and here -->http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...templates-multiple-configuration-options.html. I haven't wrapped mine yet...I'm goofing off here instead.
