I felt the same with my trident rda clone. My vamo with a protank 2 is my main one for all day use,but i bought the rda mainly to test out new diy mixes, but found i really enjoy dripping, and with the vamo i have to build at high enough ohms to work within it's range,so i bought a nemesis mechanical mod clone to use with the rda,and it's a world of difference being able to lower the ohms, but the vamo is still my main go to for the majority of the day, until i have time to sit back, relax, and enjoy some dripping time haha.

Just got my vamo v5 from fasttech $32.43 Vamo V5 Variable Voltage/Wattage Mod / APV - stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping (the $32.43 model). It works fine and has the latest software. It displays the power (or voltage) and the resistance and a battery graph. It still defaulted to mean instead of rms. I just held down the down (left) button for 15 seconds or so till it gave the menu to change to rms. It can give puff duration instead of power if you want. You get coil resistance if you hold down the right button and battery voltage if you hold down the left. It is an impressive device for the price. The revised software and display is a plus. I don't know if it has improved the performance as I don't have an old version to compare it to.
I still prefer my mpv2 because of the usb passthrough for charging. I'm next to a usb port a lot of the time. I do want to try out my dual core dripper on the vamo.

I concur with everybody who thinks the Vamo V5 is a great VV/VP Mod.
I've had mine for about a month. It is a clone but you can feel plenty of quality in the metal and electronics.
I've been vaping with it and a Protank 3, a Stillare with dual coils and now a Kayfun 3.1. I also use several cheap clearomizer tanks (Ego thread) where I put the different e-juices I'm testing. They all perform great.
Having said that, I must report that at one point the connector pin shorted out. No consequence, the Vamo handled the short. I must have used a tank with an extra long screw (Stillare) that pressed the pin and smashed the rubber sleeve grommet that keeps said pin isolated. I fixed it with minor work using a fix posted somewhere in this forum.

I've found something that might be considered a feature: After installing your tank (20mm or wider), unscrew the V5's connector cover ring (beauty ring?) a turn or so against the tank. This will help stabilize the tank and remove any eventual torsion strain from the connector screw.

Thanks for all the helpful posts.

All Vamo owners can learn from my mistake...

You know how sometimes you screw a tank in, and it looks a touch crooked, so you just push it straight? That's the top assembly coming loose, a fraction of a millimeter at a time. Think of wiggling a tight PVC pipe connection loose. Eventually, you'll get what I just did - the thing will tip and fall and the entire top assembly will be hanging from the wires, likely with at minimum the two small buttons rattling about inside.

Dead, right?

Nope. Pull the battery, wiggle the plastic 'half-moon' piece holding everything in out, and then gently remove the chip assembly. Replace the buttons, slide the control assembly back into place, and then replace the half-moon sleeve. Push the top assembly back on, being careful of wire placement, and gently urge it back to fully seated. Replace the battery, and vape on!

My very 1st mod was/is a Vamo V5. It's right about a year old now and still running strong. The body is worn out and flexes but it doesn't affect the function at all. The 510 threads wore out once and the head was replaced with a V2. While I had it apart I went ahead and sand blasted the body. It was looking pretty nasty. I run mine pretty much all the time with a KF clone set at 1.3ohm's. It's not the end all of mods but does a fine job.

Ready to join the group, my Focalecig SS Vamo v5 from the $19.90 group buy should be here tomorrow. Already have a pair of Efest purple 18350 batteries and the i4 charger waiting with my Aerotank Mega clone. Tobh v2 SS 1:1 clone is still in China.

Hey vamo people,
I just received a new vamo v5. I upgraded from an ego c-twist and I am completely new to vv/vw. My twist has vv but I just put it at 4.0 and puffed away.

Now, I have a couple questions, remember, Im clueless.
Because I didnt buy a new atomizer or anything yet, I was happy to see my half dozen evods fit my new vamo.

My evods have 1.8 ohm coils, so what should I set my volts and watts at?
Does it matter? Is there any settings to stay away from?
Sorry for the dumb newb questions but I will learn.
Thanks for any pointers.

I do feel very powerful with this vamo, ive already threatened my girlfriend and my dog with it.......size does matter.
