Ordered me updated Vamo V5, a set of 18650 and a set of 18350. Now have to order intelicharger and I will be all set as my backup. So that I can rotate between my MVP and the vamo.

Seems like not a lot of people with vamo post like the way in MVP owner thread does. Hope that changes. :)

I'd highly recommend the Nitecore D2 over the I2 (or D4 over I4 if you want 4 ports to charge).

I've been switching between the MVP2 and V5 the past few weeks and I think I like box mods better. I'm thinking about getting a DNA30.

One question to anyone... Do you know where to buy the SS 510 connector for the V5's? I went to KSD's site and they say they sell replacement parts but no more info on that. I've found 2 sites that sell the part but both are brass.

Something like this? (Although currently out of stock...)

EGO to EGO 510 Atomizer Adapter : L Js E-Smokes, Electronic Cigarettes

Or the 510 to ego/510 ones? Many online shops have them.

BUT - don't know if they're stainless or chromed brass.

OTOH, if you put one of those on your Vamo "forever" and IT gets stripped, cheap enough to replace, and your Vamo is unscathed.

Still haven't heard any definitive answer on whether the stainless V5 has stainless connections though...

I will check Nitecore out. I was thinking about I2 or I4 because the price is right. About $15 for more than decent charger. Nitecore seems to be top notch but a bit pricey.

Like this? I am thinking about picking couple up as well.

I heard that vamo still uses brass. Then again, I saw a lot of people that had use over a year and the thread will be fine as long as you don't drop it or over tightening it. Mix reviews though.

I picked up a D2 for $16 shipped from Amazon.com. This looks like the one I bought but a buck less and comes with 2 batteries instead of a plastic battery case for 2 18650.

I was looking for the press on cap for the V5, not an adapter. I have a few of them and a couple of airflow control valves.

Their latest version has SS 510 connector with a spring loaded pos pin as well as the updated firmware.

I got a v5 from fasttech and it has a spring loaded 510 pin that gave out within a day.
Luckily I purchased a replacement top cap from ecigaretteimpressions for another v5 ,, so I ended up using the extra pin and now I have 3 working vamos!!

When you say "won't work", does it display " 0.0" or "9.9" (check by holding down the top right button)?

Reason I ask is because I recently got the Magma RDA and screwed it in a little too tight, pushing the 510 pin down too much causing a short. The only tank that would still register was my Mini Protank 3.

I had to go to Home Depot and get the Danco #60 rubber washer (10pk) and fixed it. Before you do that you could use a tiny flat head to lift the 510 pin up.

Nick, not sure how to answer this but without an atty or anything it registers settings and all the menu functions. If I push the fire button with nothing attached it says to check atomizer. With all but one pt 2 mini it says check atty. all of my atomizers work with all my mods mech and otherwise.
I can't get access to the pin because I can't figure out how to get the top cap off. Is it pressed ? Right or Left hand thread ? and thanks To you and BobbyQ for jumping in here. I've got over a year without analogs and with one mech and a couple of apv's but I don't have enough experience or nerve to go at this without some guidance. Thanks Much !

How to get top cap off without major damage ?

Try "rocking" the Vamo pin before trying to take it apart. Either turn it off or pull the battery first, so you don't inadvertently fire it while doing this...

Use a small flat blade screwdriver, straightened out paper clip, or...

Lay it beside the Vamo center pin and rock, so you nudge the pin up a hair. Work in a circle around the pin, so you rock it fro at leat 3 or 4 places.

Power back up, attach topper and see if that made a difference.

If its like the vamo I got from ft, it might have the spring loaded center pin..

The top cap is pressed on, also the center pin is pressed in from the inside.
