Thanks! Unfortunately, those seem to be the poor performers. The more closely spaced ones are performing well, I think, for just about everyone who has them.

Sorry, should have added these photos before. Wide and narrow spaced versions.

Where did you get yours?

I don't want to derail the thread, but the one on the right is the wide spaced version, correct? Just wondering because I have the one on the left but no device to try it in yet.

wide space (pic on left w-sticker) is NOT the one you want. The one on the right appears to be the better performer.

I also got mine at RTD and as of yesterday, I'm not impressed either. My 2600 mah sony performed better. I started mine off with high hopes and posted earlier that it was doing well, then it dropped shortly after that and gave me the "low battery" screen. The last 1/4 bar of the battery symbol didn't last long at all. Time to hunt for a better option. Love the device though. Easy menu, small and great look and feel IMO.

RTD has always been a solid supplier so I am sure they are not aware of the issue but they posted picture on there site matches the one Mooch describes as having issues.

Yea, that's what bugs me. RTDVapor is one of the places I really trust for my battery purchases. I haven't contacted them yet because I'm still trying to gather more examples of good/bad performance for both types of the MNKE.

The two sets of good ones I have were ordered from IMRBatteries. But, the certainly doesn't mean anyone else who orders from there will also get the good version.

Just to confirm, you have the wide spaced version?

My MNKEs came from RTD and look like the left-hand picture (wide spacing, one with the white label). Battery life is ok. Between 20-25 watts, I can get a day and half on a full charge.

I notice the same thing about the battery bar hitting 1/4 left. 25% seems closer to 10%. 50% seems closer 33%. 75% seems closer to 85%. It's like a gas gauge. It stays full for a long time but once you burn through half a tank, the rest goes quickly. Not sure if that's the wismec chip or the battery causing it.

I can't fire above 60 watts without hitting "weak battery" though. Both batteries perform exactly the same.

Not being able to fire above 60 watts with a fully charged battery suggests to me that you are getting a pretty big voltage sag when under load. I'm guessing it must have a relatively high internal resistance (the battery).

    Let us know freedog.

Randy didn't know or they wouldn't have been on his site. I contacted him today and he pulled them out of stock right away. For what it's worth, I bought 8.

This is essentially why I buy nearly all my batteries from RTD. Great company.

I dropped in the plastic sleeve for now and sunning the 25R's which perform good in the Stout. It's a little weird because I got used to the weight.
Same here! I actually prefer the weight with the 26650. Maybe because I'm used to my heavy little sx mini and that is with me all the time.

    8...holy crap!! I only bought 2. lol

Haven't heard back from Randy, but expect the same answer as Jonner.

Just for a comparison I ran the same tank (Serpent) today with a LG HG2 and got the same run time (Approx 8 ml). In over 5 years I've always bought batts from either Randy or Illum. That being said, yesterday I bought 2 green Efest's from 101. Felt like I was cheating!! lol

But dammit I really like the Stout and don't want to run a 18650 in it.
