what battery brands are known to work in the Stout besides the Brillpower? a lot of 26650's are 67mm in length and are to long? from what I can tell you need a 65mm battery... one of the only ones I can find is the 4000mah Efest @ 65.11mm. I would hate to order batts and have them not fit ;)

Well looks like we have another 26650 NOT to buy. lol
I agree. The Brillipower is not my favorite battery right about now. Not sure why VF photographed the Stout with it.

I'll let you know when I receive them, the Mnke is was 26.3mm X 65.5mm and they were tight. I have the sigelei 75/90W and the Encom TNT80 so I'll have a couple devices to try them on once they show up.

The MXJ's are 26.34mm x 66.61mm so finding a 65mm is tough.

And thanks for the info Matt!

Not many choices at 65mm Mooch. Hopefully a 67mm will fit or VF has another DNA40 flask design flaw. I love my DNA flask but only Sony's fit in my tubes.

And thanks for posting the list Mooch.
In the Mike Vapes review he says you have to use the shorter 26650's in the stout for what its worth. Skip to about the 16:10 mark.

Cheers,
Steve

I took a chance and ordered a couple of the "Boxer" 26650's from GV. It stated they were 67.4mm but they fit totally fine in the Stout. Measuring it showed 66.47mm... hope I'm wrong but that's the same size as the Efest green. :(

The first battery vaped a total of about 16 ml at around 42 watts. It looked like only one bar change away from being empty and I took it out, popped it on the charger and it read 3.5v. On the second battery now.

I sent an email to GV asking who makes the battery and if it was a rewrap... was told they're OEM'd specifically for GV. Maybe @Mooch will have a chance to test one some day.

First time I've heard of this one. If the requests start piling up I can add it to the testing queue. :)

Here are the measurements for the 26650's I'm testing now....

I knew the efsts and AWTs were long but this is ridiculous. They are called 26650s for a reason. Should be called 26670s...

On that note, this is actually a serious problem for modmakers designig 26650 devices. They really have to start taking this issue on board. I have a boxer sx350J-V2 26650 on the way and apparently they have tried to build in some flexibility. I had a play with the prototpye though and I can tell you that anything over 66mm bends the ends of the casing outwards to an alarming degree. I hope this is fixed. I only have the AWTs (yeah I know...bad choice) and some efests. If they dont fit, I will have to find something else and trash about £30 worth of batts because they dont fit...not good!

ps. Just wanted to a give a massive shout out to @Mooch for the fantastic work. A tremendous contribution to the vaping community from every point of view - especially safety!! Nice one!

    @Mooch,

I realize eFest is a four letter word lately but that's all they had where I picked up my Stout. It's the green 4200mah one and I'm getting around 10-15ml of juice through my STM with an NI200 coil running it at 40w/490f. Seems I should be getting more run time, just wondering what you found with that battery in your testing.

    Thanks

The Efest may not be a horrible battery. It's just a rewrap of something else so it's hard to tell for sure what cell it is but if you are getting good run times and it is staying cool then it can't be much worse than what else is currently available in the 26650 market.

TBH, I don't remember. I'm just banging out the discharges and filing the graphs. When I get them all done I'll be comparing results and posting the data. 26650's are significantly less efficient than 18650's though. A 4200mAh 26650 definitely does not have 1200mAh more of capacity than a 3000mAh 18650 at decent power levels. It's only at lower power levels, perhaps under 35W or less, where 26650's start to be able to flex their extra capacity.

You should be seeing better run time than a HG2 or 30Q though. Do you have one you can use as a comparison?

confirmed with kristen at IMR batts that they have both the wide spaced 3500 mah mnke's with the sticker (sketchy one), and 11 of the tight spaced text line MNKEs like the picture posted earlier. I actually sent her the pictures and she went in the warehouse and confirmed. As of now they have 9 left-LOL
If you decide to take a chance on them then make sure to "note/comment" that you want the MNKEs with the narrow spaced text lines and without the sticker.

    Thanks for that update!
The four tight spaced MNKE's I purchased from IMR, in two separate purchases, have tested well and consistently. Hoping their last nine do the same!

Thats interesting. 67.4 is the same as the AWTs and efest purple that barely fit in my boxer. They do cause a little bit of a bend in the casing at the bottom but its not too bad. If they were designed for the boxer, why the hell didnt they get them made at 67 or 66.5mm...Bizarre.

edit: just saw your measurement. Makes more sense at 66.5...
