Kaleb - I still use it when I go on a cross country train trip ;) Great protection. I have the small one Amazon.com: OtterBox Commuter-Series Case for Samsung Droid Charge (Black): Cell Phones & Accessories

Hmmm, never seen that one, but I like it! Heres mine, Amazon.com: BoxWave Colorsplash Samsung i9300 Galaxy S3 Case with Stand - Durable, Protective TPU Case with Foldable Stand Featuring Sleek, Dual Colored "S" Design on Back - Samsung i9300 Galaxy S3 Cases and Covers (Jet Black): Cell Phones & Accessor I like it alot! I havent used the kickstand but its fun to play with and slightly less annoying to people than my pen clicking habit I have. :) Im a fidgeter, what can I say? Lol

The Best buy guy had his phone in a black silicone Otter Box case. It looked huge with it on, but he keeps it in his pocket anyway. The silicone would probably allow it to bounce and save the screen, so it's probably a good idea.

I've just gotten used the the hard shell rubberized holsters over the years. They crack after a while, but that's why I bought two while they were cheap.

I was using my ballistic case which protected it perfectly but the one time I was using my extended battery I dropped it during a battery swap, then mid air I kicked it into the stove which cracked the screen from the top speaker to the bottom casing straight down the middle :)
Which leads me to a question, How many batteries do you all carry around on a daily basis?
I have 2 extended batteries and 3 standard batteries..
Usually I carry around either the 3 or the 2.. Without streaming I can make it sometimes on one battery if I'm super busy, but the moment I throw in 8 hours of streaming it's 2-3 for sure

Does anyone know how to save something on your sd card on android? I caved and I have decided to root my Galaxy Tab and the directions I got said to save the file on to your sd card, boot into recovery mode, click apply update from external storage and find the file, but I cant see the file. The odd thing is when I use astro and look, it says its on the sd card. Needless to say I am confused!!!

Dave I like the Otter Box because it is two pieces - the rubber goes on first, then the plastic shell. It may have a stand, I can't remember. But what I really like for a stand is the charger I got.

I install roms with " install zip from sdcard" ..
"apply update from sdcard" has always been for unofficial updates for me anyway.. Someone with more knowledge prolly can help you more.
DOn't forget to wipe cache, dalvik and all that good stuff before..

if you want tough, otterbox is ok, but trident is infinitely better,i know from using both products, trident also comes in a variety of colors and performance options, check them out:

Trident Case Home Page

also i once wrote a guide as to how to paint the hard plastic portion of the otterbox to add more of a "custom" flair to it....let me know if you guys want a few pointers on it.

On the GS3, the easiest way is to copy it to the internal storage using windows explorer (assuming you're using windows).
For some reason CWM Recovery looks to the internal SD for files on the GS3. ADB pushes it to the external.

I could get more specific about doing it with ADB but it really is easier to just copy it over.

If you're not using windows to push the file, I'll figure out how to push it to the right location from the phone.

Oh, and what was said earlier is correct too. If you select apply update.zip, it's going to look specifically for that filename on the root of the sdcard.

If you choose 'select zip from sdcard' you should be able to browse to the file you want. I'm not sure if that's actually your problem though?

Thanks for the help everyone, I now have a rooted Galaxy Tab and soon to have ICS! Yayyyyy!!!! So I was trying to just download the file to my tablet and put it in the external sd card but it wouldnt let me for some reason (said permission denied) so I transferred the file through my computer and it worked! I had transferred the file from my computer before and then couldnt find it when I put the tablet into recovery mode, but then I realized that Safari on my mac was automatically unzipping the file and I needed to have the actual zip file, so I figured it out! Thanks again everybody! Now then....do I dare try and root my GS3?! Lol.

Glad you got it figured out.

I've rooted mine but I haven't gone with a custom ROM yet. There's features of touchwiz I wanted to play with first (mainly the camera and S-Voice) and the CM ROMs still seem a little rough around the edges.

I'm about this > < close to putting CM10 on it though.

I am so excited right now, I successfully rooted and flashed ICS to my Galaxy Tab. FINALLY!!!! I love it, its buttery smooth and pretty freakin rad! Couple of qustions for ya'll:

1. What is your favorite launcher and why? When I was still on honeycomb, I had Go Launcher HD, but I deleted it when I got ICS because it didnt look right so I am back to TouchWiz now, which is ok, but not ideal.
2. Do any of you use Tapatalk? I am subscribed to a lot of threads here on ECF and so I would need some kind of notification about new posts, I have them going to my email now.
3. Also regarding Tapatalk, can you "like" posts?
