Apple everything else but using Galaxy Nexus GSM running minooch x Franco V2 JB 4.1.1 for my phone.

GN has kept me satisfied for a while. I had GS2, GS3 and switched back. Who knows what's gonna happen when I'm up for renewal or if there's a handset that interest me. I might upgrade and extend or I might buy out of my pocket.. Thanks for this thread!

Just so's ya all know I'm a Mac lover (for now, sort of still)

1st Mac - A boxy thing with a black and white screen. It was tall, with maybe a 6 inch screen
2nd Mac - The one that looked like a baked Alaska. Awesome design with a goose neck screen. Imac G4 I think
3rd and 4th Macs - iBook G4
5th Mac - MacBook
6th and current Mac - Mid-2010 MacBook Pro 15" 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 256 MB graphics.

My current Mac fries my left hand and the fan comes on anytime I use video or something that uses a lot of memory. I probably should bring it to a Genius Bar but I dread how long it always takes. Plus as you all know, it does NOT play nice with Chrome.

Chrome and Android FTW. I don't remember how long I've been using Chrome as my PC browser now. I've had an HTC EVO 4g since Feb11 and love it. My smart phone background started with PalmOS on a Samsung i500, then a Palm Treo650. When the 650 flaked out finally they sent a Centro as a replacement (Not a replacement for a 650 in my book). I was due to upgrade to I went Blackberry with the Curve 8330. Did me good for the 2 years I had it. Now it's all Android in my book. Looking at the new EVO LTE for when I upgrade in December, unless Sprint has something else from HTC at the time.

Now here's a Chrome/ECF quirk I've noticed. This big box we type in right? Under it are the "Show your signature" check box, then "Post Quick Reply" "Go Advanced" and "Cancel". On the IE only boxes at work, I can hit TAB twice and "Post" is selected and I just need to hit the spacebar to post my message. On Chrome it won't tab at all. Anyone noticed this?

(Even this many years later, I'm still very keyboard centric from my DOS days :) )

Using the galaxy skyrocket, on a custom ROM. (all the s3 goodies, (50 gig dropbox, s voice etc) plus bravia, beats audio, lenovo notes mobile, etc etc) and love it. I had a g nexus for a while, and sold it.. The hardware was not as good as the skyrocket, although for it's time, the camera was great. (better camera on skyrocket now.)

I've managed to achieve an overclock of 1.8GHz (stable) on both cores using a custom kernel and ROM toolbox pro...undervolted to 192, this thing flies when I need it to, and has the best battery life I've ever seen. (25 hours regular use, including Web browsing on lte and wifi, GPS active.)

Not buying the nexus 7.. Again, the hardware is disappointing, and it only has 1 gig of ram. Jellybean is ram intensive, so I'll wait for uncle Sammy/google to roll out a 2 or 3 gig model before I upgrade from my Toshiba thrive. (full size USB..love it.)

Here's some screens from my phone, I do themeing, app development and mess around with roms, although I have yet to build a full one myself :)

Hawkeye - can you post a screen shot? -- it's hard to visualize. (Actually on Chrome for Mac, tab and space bar seem to do nothing on ECF.)

Sure thing. Here it is. On IE, the first press of TAB would goto the Show your signature check box, second press goes to where my crudely drawn arrow points. :p

So ok, I consider myself pretty tech savvy, but I have a couple of questions for ya'll if you don't mind....

1. What is a bootloader?
2. What is overclocking and whats the benefits?

I had my T-Mobile G2 rooted when I had it and was able to flash a custom ROM but thats all I did. I LOVED that phone, but sadly, my finances got too tight and I had to go Cricket for awhile. I have a Samsung Transfix and it is alright, has a full keyboard but its definately nothing to write home about! When I first got it, I looked everywhere for how to root it and I couldnt come up with anything! I dont really care now though as I will be on Verizon soon with the Galaxy S3! Eeek. Im so excited!!!!

A bootloader starts the manufacturer loaded operating system at the initiation of your device. Rooting your phone is basically "unlocking" your bootloader, and allows you to flash roms.

Overclocking allows your processor to perform more operations per cycle, resulting in faster performance and reduced wait times. It can cause overheating and ultimately wreck your device.. Not for novices!

Oh, and no, I don't use chrome. Dolphin on my Droids, opera on my PC. :) (I find chrome buggy, laggy and bloated)
