I will check those out, thanks for responding! :) I downloaded z4 root and it didnt work. :(

99.99% of the time a script "doesn't work" because you have old/incorrect drivers installed, or you didn't run as an administrator...I highly suggest looking into either XDa or Sdx for your answers...the tab is fairly popular...so a script root I'd almost guaranteed

That will work on the Galaxy Tab 7 as well?

very good question...i haven't really answered the questions regarding tablet rooting as, well, i've never rooted a tablet (oddly enough) mainly because i have yet to get a tablet...though i'll probably end up getting one soon....i just haven't found one appealing enough...honestly what i want is to be able to use a tablet PC as a mimic to a wacom tablet for photoshop/gimp....which i'm sure would take a serious piece of hardware for....besides that i really haven't had the need for a tablet yet, mainly just a really big want...

another big problem i've had with tablets is that every one that i have played around with is just lackluster in the performance department (admittedly i haven't gotten to play with a nexus 7 yet) except for the obnoxiously priced transformer prime..that and the market is flooded with cheap, crappy android tablets running cupcake on subpar hardware....which really isn't appealing to me...hopefully though by years end there will be some better options floating around and i'll pull the trigger on something

There we go. That was the easiest I could find. But of a rush job though...there might be an easier solution if you read the forum.

That last link won't work for the galaxy tab 7, it's a nexus root script tool.

if i can get over them being sammy devices i might look into getting one heavily....only because of the "note" branding, and i know they'll have a built in stylus....which will help with the wacom tablet emulation.....but i've had horrible luck with samsung in the past...then again the HTC tablet sucked soooooo...iuhno lol

Interesting! I have been happy with my Samsung and HTC phones. Not so good on the tablets?

samsung phones and i don't get along, after owning a samsung moment, i was really turned off by their product, as far as HTC is concerned, i adore their phones, but the one tablet they produced (EVO view 4g) was garbage, and as far as i'm concerned was a shame to the name EVO....and as far as sammy's tablets, i've played with a few, but nothing that performs well enough to what i would like...lately i have been considering a tablet more, but i still haven't found one that i wanted to pull the trigger on, not to mention i want one that i could sync to my computer as a wacom tablet, which, to my knowledge, none of them can just yet...although i think that it will be coming soon since adobe has broken into photoshop mobile

I think you can link the at100 Toshiba thrive as a wacom, and I think one of the acers as well. I've never tried, largely because I draw like an over caffeinated 4 year old on a bicycle going down hill on a gravel road. (seriously.that bad.)

The new 7" Sammy tablet is ok.. Still not as good as the iPad in my opinion, but that's largely due to that horrid touchwiz ui and lack of "definitive" apps. (iRig is amazing.)

good to know, the main thing with the wacom is that i paint in analog, and have been getting to know photoshop/gimp photo editors, and i've read that NOTHING compares to a wacom when it comes to input into them....and also just as a side note: photoshop makes drawing stupid easy, even if you draw like you're trying to paint a picture while parking your car and a rabid ferret is attacking your genitals :p

Oh, I've been using Photoshop and gimp for ages.. I just can't draw, lol.

You could always toss Ubuntu on a tab and use gimp natively.

this is true...i also have a bluetooth mouse and keyboard for imput if the necessity is required for those imput types, but then the hardware dilemma rears it's head again...as running a full-blown ubuntu with gimp would really eat up onboard resources for a tablet, or at least i would imagine anyways...which is why i was looking for more of a wacom emulator...but i'll see...tbh i haven't done much research on it recently, and there may be a device with native wacom emulation...if not something with the hardware capable of pulling off the ubuntu/gimp combo (that wouldn't cost my left kidney)

If the internets are to be believed, 2 gig ram, quad core 1.4 GHz 5 MP camera with dedicated chip, expandable memory, 1280x 800 125ppi etc etc.

If they release it with good connectivity options (USB 2 would be killer) then I'm getting one. 2 GB ram is awesome consisting everything else has half that.
