Funcoland is pretty much all i remember honestly. I remember in 87 getting my first atari when the entire system and 30 games cost NOTHING. I still have all my atari games. A few months later i got a Nintendo basically 3_4 months after it came out in Ny. Been hooked ever since.

Funcoland!!!! HAHAHAHAHA I remember taking my son there :)

Oy we had a Commodore 64 as our first computer. So many cool games!

The funny thing is my son never changed. He still loves video games as an adult. When he was little he used to have me schlep him to this one store in the Chicago area that had the Japanese versions of the Nintendo games. And it had to be the freaking day they came out, too!!!

Tech Question:

Can you guys help me? I recorded an audio file with my Android phone. It made a .amr file. I opened it in Audacity and cropped it, and exported it into a MP3 file, and also saved it as an Audacity file. I want to put the lyrics to the song on it and put it on YouTube. How would I do that? I tried iMovie, what a pain.
Thanks!

Best buy had the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for FREE with a 2 year contract, so my wife and I went there yesterday and walked out with one each. Previously, she had an LG feature phone and I had the HTC Eris w/ Android 2.1 (as far as VZW would take it).

Android 4.0.4 ICS is a new ball game coming from 2.1. Mine seems to have the Nexus bug where it will drop the signal and eventually re-acquire it ... maybe. Last night making test calls, I'd had two bars and when I dialed it would not complete a call. I'd text with no bars and when it came back up, it would send it, though. Googling that problem revealed that 4.0.4 ICS inserted that bug all over the world, although there were people complaining about it previously. ICS brought on an epidemic of new symptoms for Nexus, it seems. I found a thread where people were discussing it from virtually every country in the free world.

I'm running the No Signal Alert app and filling the log with up and down transitions in signal. It's actually getting hilarious. My wife's phone is also running the app and hasn't lost signal once. I can have two bars, make a call, and it fails with "no signal". When I Googled this phone to compare it to the Razr, it was neck and neck with some favoring the Razr and others favoring the Nexus. I love the phone, but it's going back for a swap in the next day or two, once I have a log full of failures to show them.

UPDATE: I went to Best buy this afternoon and they gave me a brand new Nexus with a stable radio. I have reception bars that don't go away and a phone that will actually make phone calls and surf without burping.

Once I showed them the log from the No Signal Alert app, they looked at each other and one said, "DOA". The other agreed. The SIM card was not registering when they checked the "about phone" entry in Settings and the SIM card from another phone wouldn't load either.

Glad that's settled, anyway.

We paid $7 a month for the "insurance" with Verizon for 2 years and never needed it, but I understand they are picky about the water stickers in the phone. My Eris had a red sticker not too long after I got it, but the battery sticker was always white with red dots. They put one sticker right next to the USB charging port where a wet hand from a rainy day could introduce a little moisture.

Best buy charges $10 a month and they don't care what happens to the phone as long as it's in one piece when you bring it in. I watched one of the reps last night selling the insurance to a lady. He said, "I hope this doesn't happen, but it does sometimes." He dropped his tablet on the floor from 4 feet up (in a cover). Then he said, "If the display breaks, bring it back and we'll give you a new one. If it drops in a mud puddle, wipe it off and bring it to us." In fact, there was a lady there last night with a broken phone screen getting a new one under the coverage."

I'll stay with Best Buy for my phone service from now on. For $3 a month more, I'll have peace of mind.

The nexus has a lot of issues. Its likely due to the 3 year old hardware they used in the construction.

Love the nexus for its camera and version updating, but after that, it isn't worth it... Not with the skyrocket, note and g3 out there. (among others. The RAZR maxx is pretty sweet too)

Vaping since: a while
Cigarettes avoided: lots
Money saved: probably not
Devices: Yes

lets not forget they don't charge a single cent for replacements through black tie either....and their black tie warranties on major electronics like TVs and computers are second to none.

I am so frustrated today because I want to check and see if my Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is ready for a firmware update to ICS and stupid Samsung Kies wont work on my iMac G5! So im stuck on Honeycomb I guess because I dont want to root it and my computer is ancient. Sad day for me!

wow a G5? that thing is ancient lol....man you could probably sell that thing for parts and build a new PC for around 200 bucks or so on newegg.....just a suggestion...also if you opt for linux as the primary OS (or until you could afford a new one) you'd have a better overall sync with android phones, most don't even need drivers to be recognized by linux because the OS's are so similar

Whoa! Dave, you mean, if you get the battery wet, Best Buy will still replace it?
