Link between Mesquite BBQ flavored e-juice and porkerface?

I find this both disturbing and erotic.

Constantly read up on the studies about nicotine and the science around vaping, etc. It will help you feel more in control of this guilty pleasure if you are health conscious. So far, I am not scared to vape and freaking love it.

I am a practicing medical Esthetician and have never been a "smoker" and still am not a "smoker". I actually think that "smoking" a cigarette is disgusting, I can't stand the smell and the clients that come to me, that are smokers.....well, I can see and tell their frequency of usage. No matter how stealthy they are about the smell, it does reflect in your skin. I don't want to offend if that is your choice. It is just my opinion (for what ever it is worth.....).

I love vaping though. I formulate my own juices so that I KNOW, exactly what is going into my body. Unless you are using a really horrible juice with crap in it, I can't imagine what kind of effect and affect it would have on your skin in such little time. Stress, hormones, lack of sleep and hygiene are on the top of my list when it comes to rapid dermal changes.

Bottom line; I would have to look at your face under a maglamp to maybe have a better idea on my definitive opinion. But I am a bit skeptical of the vaping as the cause/correlation to your current skin changes.

Hey mate,

First of all, I'm sorry you're aging, things like fat receding and such are normal, as is your nose and ears starting to look larger because of it. All part of the normal aspects of aging that accelerate at certain points. Second of all, to my knowledge the aging effects seen from smoking come from two things:

1. Pucker face (repetitive motion of your lips around something -- always drinking from straws does this too)

2. Dehydration appears to be much more of a kicker -- the smoke dries out the skin, almost tanning it over time.

Both would appear to apply to vaping, and the dehydration aspect may be even stronger due to eliquids being very hygroscopic. It's entirely possible in 20 years you'll have photos of two twins, one who started vaping in their 20s and one who didn't. If this concerns you aren't able to grow a beard, generous use of moisturizer is probably a good idea.

It is real. You are sucking a device. Of course your face is gonna look like a Char Pei.
It's not only vaping,, it's smoking too, even smoking cigars, which is what I did for 45 years.
Now, my question is: What got you vaping in the 1st place?.
I don't know if you're old enough to remember the Brook Shields commercial against smoking.
She illustrated exactly what happen to the face of a sucker.
If I didn't need my nic fix, I wouldn't vape either. Ah, but it beats the hell out of smoking, even good cigars.
And I can watch the game inside the house, not peeking through the glass in the lanai.
Life is good. Think of it this way, it was just a matter of time before you got old, ugly and wrinkled.
You just accelerated the process. Face the music You should know that every action causes a reaction.
Sorry bud, but it's your own doing. Don't blame vaping.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for all your responses. For more information, I was 22 years old when I started vaping, never smoked before, but I needed something to relieve the stress from college. Vaping seemed like a awesome Idea considering low doses of nicotine induces happy chemicals to go on in your brain (I don't want to get to technical). When I vaped age of 22 and 23 I saw absolutely no signs of aging at all (Vaping simple e-cigs like the E-Go 6mg/2-4ml every other day), but then I turned 24, I decided to become more of an advance vapor (RBA,RDA, so forth and so on). In a span of six months I gradually started to notice a lot a facial features changing. Mostly the whole smoking pucker face. However, I do know that nicotine suppresses appetite also, does that mean it could possibly destroy baby fat on your face. It enlightens me to know maybe it's just me aging and that it had nothing to do with vaping, but I have to be skeptical and say maybe it was vaping? Who ages in a span of six months. In those six months, I was definitely chucking out more vapor because that's what RBA and RDA's do. So, 6mg/ 8-10 a day would be a good estimation of how much I was vaping. I want to keep this thread alive because im going to try to quit vaping for a good three months and see the results.

I work in a very stressful career field. It's fast-paced and frantic most of the time. So I often have periods where I will drink coffee all day long then to unwind, drink beer in the evening. It can go all week like this on occasion. This will sho nuff dehydrate a person. Even if your routine is not that extreme, as mentioned before dehydration is a risk for vapors. You have to will yourself to drink water more than ever, especially for a heavy vapor. My guess is that if you will commit to drinking as close to a gallon of water per day for the next few days, you'll notice several improvements. I can always tell when I'm dehydrated because I'll have double vision first thing in the morning.

Your stressed from college? Stress in itself can cause rapid aging. Also the college lifestyle. I am not saying that is how you do college but a lot of people party it up during college and it can age some faster.

You mentioned "baby fat" some people lose that in their teen years and others later. It is possible that just in out growing that you feel that you have aged.

High stress and dehydration are two of the controllable things that cause visable aging. A diet, physical activity, and sleep are some of the other things. So if you are in a high stress enviroment, don't drink enough water, eat junk, don't work out, and have a bad sleep cycle then you while visably age faster.

Granted that genetics and other uncontrollable factors effect how fast you visably age. But for the things you can control if you are worried, make sure you do your best. Relaxation and hobbies to reduce stress, drinking plenty of water, eating a balanced healthy diet, getting on a balanced sleep cycle. Exfoliate and moisturize your skin. You will notice an improvement within a month.

I'm pushing 40 with grey balding hair and I look about 30. Shaved head and face brings me down into 20s.

One day I looked in the bathroom mirror when I got up and said good morning to my grandmother, I was still half asleep. Then it dawned on me that it was a reflection of myself and decided then and there to not look in the mirror first thing in the morning.

Life just happens. I don't begrudge looking like my grandmother, she was a beautiful woman. I'm thankful I've aged because it means I'm still alive Lol!

Look around your family and see if they also have it, you may find it's genetic.

First off, I don't suggest any non smoker pick up vaping. While we can confidentially say that the effects are far less than smoking, we can't say it's safe.

Second, I can't say from personal experience what the effects are on a non-smoker, I can tell you that people have noticed that lines on my face have disappeared compared to two years ago when I quit smoking and started vaping.

I forgot to mention about my family in terms of genetics. I have three siblings, two older and one younger. Oldest brother is very fit and is thirty three however, due to a very healthy lifestyle looks very young and retains the youth that I have lost, he is currently in residency to become a doctor. Second oldest brother smoked for a good five years, definitely looks older than my eldest brother because of that. He quit a good three years ago, he's twenty nine now. Youngest one is twenty two years old, he looks like a sixteen year old kid, literally. So, I have good reason suspect vaping caused my youth to disappear. I'm not condoning vaping, but for people that have never smoked or vaped, shouldn't. I'm hoping I can retain all the attributes I lost by stopping vaping all together.
