Our mutual hobby tends to get a bit expensive too, the main component is a 23T Altered Roadster with a Mopar 440.

That's great. My girlfriend took a good interest into my rc helicopters. We now go and fly together. Granted not the best hobby to share because they are barely affordable for myself. It's completely worth it to have something we can share together.

15 year smoker... almost on a full year after quitting officially. The only thing that bothers my significant other is the loud "whistle" noise from some of my atomizers.

my little nieces and nephews always want to try and figure out what flavor it is my smelling it. everyone else is just happy im not smoking

Savoir-Faire is everywhere!
I think (hope) everyone knows we were just playing around and were in no way serious (god forbid!)

No, no...I'm positive you were completely serious and I've already reported you to the proper authorities.

Expect the clown squad to arrive and take you down any moment.

My daughter (going on 14) complained loudly and bitterly with every cig. Hubby never pestered me to quit, but about twice a year would very gingerly ask if I have given any thought to maybe thinking about considering the possibility of perhaps cutting back. My son never said a word about it.

Since I quit the only person to give me props for quitting is my son. Go figure!

Excellent topic!

My significant other was straight edge before anyone knew what straight edge was. Don't smoke, don't drink, what do ya do? Goodie-goodie-two-shoes (this reference is probably lost on many).

But she loved me, I loved her (still do, not past tense). But whenever we traveled she always requested a smoking room because she was a long-suffering sweetheart and I was the smoker.

When I finally switched to ecigs she had two reactions: 1) no more stink! and 2) no more sweet-smelling tobacco on my moustache. She didn't like the smoke smell but she loved the smell of tobacco on my 'stache.

All in all, though, vaping definitely improved my relationship!!!!!!!!

Adam ant! Yeah baby :) (80's man here.. )

My wife and I both quit smoking after my heart attack. My cardiologist turned me on to vaping, and I've never once desired another cigarette again.
Since then, two of our closest friends have quit and started vaping, and just recently, my two brother in laws have quit smoking and started vaping.

My heart attack and switch to vaping had a ripple effect on a lot of people around me. I was 38 when I had it, and barely had a chance to tell my wife and mother that I loved them before they loaded me up on the helicopter. The nurse told me that I had a 5% chance (because I asked her to level with me) of making it, and to tell my family whatever I wanted to say to them.
So, I told my mother and my wife that I was sorry and that I loved them very much.

Later on, they asked me why I said that I was sorry. My answer to them, was that I had done this (heart attack) to myself by smoking for 20+ years, almost 2 packs a day.

My cardiologist confirmed that my smoking is what caused the heart attack. No family history of heart problems. I am 6'5" and weigh 210 pounds and was in excellent physical shape, except for the smoking, so everyone was shocked when they found out I came very close to dying.

My three daughters all are SO happy I quit smoking, because they all want their "Daddy" around for a long time. The only thing on my mind in the helicopter, was trying to remember what the last thing I said to my daughters, because I didn't get a chance to tell them goodbye. I don't ever want to be in that situation again!

If you want to share my story with someone, you can see it here: Why I Vape - YouTube

So...vaping has done nothing but enhance all of my relationships around me, and to this day, has helped a lot of people around me to quit smoking.

If you have children or loved ones around you, make sure you tell them you love them, because I've learned the hard way, that you really never know when your time is up!
