I vape freely unless I'm told by an employee or someone is uncomfortable around the smoke. Recently at the fair one of the workers were telling my and another friend who was vaping to quit smoking and immediately another employee defended us by saying we weren't smoking but were vaping. There was even another person behind us vaping too and was admiring our mods.

Only been vaping for about 3 months but no issues here. Realistily most of the time I stealth vape or vape with others smoking/socializing but the only place I've had an issue with has been at work (Air Force regs).

IMO, the AF (the whole DoD as a matter of fact) needs to get on board with ecigs, instead of treating them just like regular cigarettes. The tobacco AFI needs to have vaping expressly allowed, there is no tobacco in them. They want us to quit smoking for health reasons, then they shouldn't make us go out to smoke pits with smokers.

Thank god my boss is cool about it, as long as we aren't being obnoxious.

Off my soap box now, I vape in public, but try to be respectful of others. I do get lots of questions, and I try to help out. Always have had positive comments, never anything negative yet. We vapers should try to be good ambassadors for our community!

Thanks everyone. I worry most that my nursing instructors might have an issue with it. We're not allowed to smoke during clinical although part of the reason is that hospitals don't allow smoking and also we don't want to smell offensive to our patient... understandable you wouldn't want your healthcare provider to reek of cigs or anything! I also just think CT may not be as aware about vaping as other places in the country. I got the opportunity to show a couple people in my clinical group my ecig and they thought it was a cute idea...

One of my daughters is a Labor and Delivery RN. Her hospital encourages their patients who smoke, and are going to be in the hospital overnight, to vape instead.

At this point, I only vape in areas I would have smoked (except my car, no smoking allowed!)

I've taken a couple puffs at my desk at work when stressed, and people outside have commented that I can just use it at my desk, but I haven't inquired about policy and I'm sure if I bring it up rules will change. People on other areas do, but my area tends to be extra strict due to our client audits.

I don't think society has embraced it, and I already draw enough attention to myself. Tattoos = drug use, so someone like me vaping, all hell may break loose in a store or restaurant or other establishment.

But hi from Connecticut! I'm from Fairfield, displaced to Stratford since the hurricane. Wish we had more brick and mortars around. I've taken a few trips to Northeast Vapor Supplies in Branford but it's about a half hour for me.
