I was in Wal-Mart here in Fairbanks Alaska so I decided to test the waters. I just vaped all through the store and the manager saw me. He walked up to me and said "Thats one of those Electronic Cigarettes, isn't It." I said yes and he told me that Walmart is in support of them and gave the go to vape freely in walmart:D I don't think this applies to all stores but it does this one. Ima so Happy.

Funny, we vaped in the mall today, no one said anything, but we walk in Spencers and this dude all runs up to us, Hey yall cant smoke in here! We laughed and explained, and he said "ok, but if security comes after me, im gonna point yall out" by the time we were leaving the store he came up and said "no really, what are those?" so we sat there another 10 minutes, giving him the lowdown, and telling him to come here and read all the forums, so yeah, another person converted! hopefully lol

My wife and I tried to set off our home smoke alarm with my 510 at point blank range and couldn't get it to chirp. I removed it from the wall and rigged it so it was running (some have a little arm that disables the alarm when it is removed from the wall) and cupped it into a towel and bathed the heck out of it with vapor and still couldn't get so much as a chirp out of it. So I think you cannot set off a smoke detector with one at all. I do know with a fog machine like what you use for stage shows will set off a smoke detector like mad. But a PV doesn't seem to do the trick.

I hate to break it to you, but they most definitely can set off smoke detectors. There are more than one type, and they have different triggers. You have the ionization type at home. CaSH already tested it on a plane and set it off; I'm assuming the detector was PE.

I have vaped in WalMart, Home Depot, Lowes, Super Petz, Food City, Food Lion, well heck, every where I go. I do not try to hide it, but I also do not put on a big show of hahaha I am smoking inside a building. I have only had one person take an attitude toward me and that was in a KFC. A very rude older man yelling across the restaurant that this place was a no smoking place and he could smell my stinking smoke. I was about ready to calmly explain to him when wife jumped in and tore him a new uhhh.. well shredded him.

Most of the time I just get curious looks. But I do have to explain over and over again what I am doing. Which I have no problem with. But so far I am the only one that I know of in my area. Well I have seen no one else.

In Virginia, you can still smoke in a restaurant if they have an enclosed smoking area (like the bar).

I sat down at the bar in Applebee's, refused the offer of an ashtray from the bartender, and happily vaped away. Was asked questions by bartender and other patrons and was happy to explain.

We'll see what happens next Jan 1 when the law changes.

I've vaped in supermarts and other public enclosed areas and I've noticed more than twice recently a common reaction from someone to the effect of "I can smell it" and in all these cases I'm inclined to put it down to using tobacco flavoured carts/liquids. Then again, maybe it's simply the placebo effect in peoples heads-they see smoke and and their nose gets mixed messages from their brains? Maybe it depends on airflow. If it's stuffy, with little air movement then these odours will build up.
I dunno. Tobacco flavoured liquids evoke more reaction than non tobacco liquids. Anyone else have that opinion or experience?

I don't do tobacco flavors, but it wouldn't surprise me if they get more of a reaction than others. I find people do notice an odor, but so far (with non-tobacco flavors) when I've asked if its offensive the answer has been that it's either pleasant or nothing to think about.

I got my Jantystick v2 yesterday and of course I just had to use it. My wife and I had some errands to run and I actually ended up vaping in Walgreens, Target and Wal-mart. I got a couple sideways looks but noone said a word and I was blowing out some monster vapor in the diaper section of walgreens haha. I was ready with my argument but happily didn't have to use it.

I just ordered the Blu as my first, and was explaining to my manager ( i work at wal-mart, and I get chewed out for smoking outside in our "corall", a part of our garden center separate from the main building where we load softener salt and mulch and whatnot, because we're not supposed to smoke on the clock and they're just as anti-smokeless tobacco) and I got the reaction i expected: not on the clock. Which trips me out as every single one of my manager's smokes. i also fully expect to not be able to get away with it as a customer as I can be reprimanded for things occurring on my time as well. Flippin wal-mart :(.

I vape in walmart sometimes. I was outside and some guy came up to me and my brothe and says "Wouldn't it be great if you could smoke and shop." My brother just says, "We can." We ended up having to explain it to him and then he called over a security guard, both were very interest. We then went in and ran into the security guard again and ended up showing other employees. They kept requesting that I take a puff so they could see it.

I'm confused....
We are (as a group) attempting to be accepted as we choose to vape where smoking is not allowed.
Why would anyone find it necessary to blow clouds of vape everywhere just to get attention? (or prove you can)

It's easy to vape and hold the vapor so that little if anything goes out on the exhale.

It's really irritating to continue reading posts from nOOOBs that seem to take on a 'I CAN DO THIS - In your face' - or even 'I'm ready for my argument' attitude.

For gosh sakes people think for just a minute and take a look at the legalities and restrictions in process of being adopted at everything from the local to national level.

There's nothing anywhere that specifically gives you the 'right' to vape in public places. And there is nothing that specifically takes that right away.

Every single one of us who chooses to vape around others needs to realize that our actions AND attitudes are helping people form opinions about P/V's.

I'd just as soon have people accept this 'habit' knowing that it is my choice - and I honor others by not affecting them.

BTW - I've vaped at the bank, the Doctor's office, Walmart, grocery stores, the library and anyplace else I go.
No ONE has ever had a problem with it - and I wouldn't think of giving them any reason to.

Wake up folks - YOUR attitude and behavior will play a part in how society DOES or does not choose to accept Vaping. The government will do the law part of it - public opinion can be in our favor if we vape responsibly and with respect to others.
Peace
