I smoke 3-5 ultra light 100s analogs per day. I read that somewhere that it's 0.5-0.8mg nicotine per analogs, so that would get me around 3.5-4mg nicotine per day.

Today I just got my first ever vapor kit from V4L, and 8mg cartos arent working for me to replace the analogs, but the samples with 24mg come close for me in terms of analog smoke.

I've been through 2 cartos today, and it somewhat satisfied me.
I still miss the soft cotton tip, the light weight, the scent, the watching smoke and amber and everything else of the analogs.

assume that's 1ml each carto, so i've got 48mg of nic intake and several nic buzz already.

Seems like I'm going to be a lot more addicted to nicotine with vaping than analogs before I can start to reduce to a low mg juice.

Also vaping is .. too easy? I can vap almost everywhere, and the thought of it being a lot cleaner.... i just can't put it down.

Anyone else went through similar exp?

Yep, but not worried about nicotine.

Just glad I'm not inhaling burning leaves and added chemicals.

Nicotine enters the system in almost a time released process when vaping instead of the instant dose that smoking does, so? Do you fret over nicotine overall level or peak level? Since I don't fret the nicotine, I worried about neither.

Since making the switch I have gone from 36mg to 28mg. Couldn't do that with my cigs. When I notice my vaping time going way down, I drop the nic a little bit and it jumps back up. Don't know that I want to give up nic, but it would be nice to get it down if I can do it without any cravings.

Ehhh, I'm not so sure.

There is more than just nicotine in cigs, as far as addictive chemicals. And a lot of people do find that, in the beginning, they compensate for those other chemicals by vaping higher strength, or more often, than they smoked.

You may find that your desired nicotine level drops in a few weeks - for many people, it does. Or you may not. But here's the thing.

Nicotine by itself, is not nearly as bad as nicotine combined with everything else in cigarettes, either in terms of health, or in terms of addictiveness. Nicotine IS addictive... but not as much as you think.

In particular, there are MAOI's in cigarettes as well. They are also highly addictive, and they amplify the affects of nicotine, resulting in a tandem, and very difficult addiction. This is probably why you're finding you have to use such high nicotine strength right now - you're not getting MAOI's, and you're compensating for that with more nic.

On an average day, I probably vape more than I smoked. I smoked 30 a day - about 1 cig every half hour.

But this morning, I didn't vape at all for 4 straight hours. Why? Because my carto was out of juice, and I couldn't be bothered to fill it.

I didn't really have serious cravings. I felt fine. It was certainly nowhere near as bad as I used to feel after going 4 hours without a cigarette.

I have read in places that the actual nicotine absorbtion from e-cigs is lower then Analogs, so that would mean that you would have to Vape more to get the same level as when you smoked. I know from personal experience I smoked analog reds for 22 years at almost 2 packs a day. I vape FAR more then when I smoked, and I think that's just my body trying to get the same level of Nicotine. I vape 36mg Cartos from V4L, It doesnt really bother me though, because no matter how much I vape, it still costing me FAR FAR less then the $8.75 a pack it is here where I live. I do notice though if I hold the vapor in longer, I feel like i get a better "hit" and do need to vape quite as much.

This may be true for you or some people because you may absorb less nicotine from vaping,, a lot of people vape more consistently than smoking, but what you inhale is SO much better than analogs. The only "harmful" thing in e - cigs is nicotine, which is arguably not that harmful. If you call nicotine harmful, you also call caffeine and a lot of other substances we ingest harmful.

just a comparison :) :

I'm not worried about the Nic addiction. However the addiction to this forum, and to buying stuff....

That has my wife up in arms.

LOL my wife asked me if I was addicted to spending the Bi-Weekly amount we used to spend on cartons because I've been ordering a few upgrades and juices....

But to answer the initial question: At first I was vaping away to curb my addiction. Now I've leveled off and only hit my high amount 24mg when I have that "I want one" feeling. For the most part that is gone and I use 18mg sporadically. I vape more for a flavor trial, or a taste that I've already found. I think overall I'm taking in way less, but my big exploration now is trying to find that throat hit and taste combo.

Tests have shown that nic.absortion rate from vaping is about 10% that of the smoking absortion rate.

So you're comparable nic. usage looks about right.

I believe i read somewhere on the forums also that the nicotine content of the juice is, for example 24mg content is 24mg of nicotine per ML of juice, that being said there is aproximately 20 drops of liquid per ML of Juice. So if you are vaping 24mg of nic juice you are only getting on average 1.2mg nicotine per drop of liquid. Most folks drip 3 drops on the atty at a time and that would be 3.6 mg of nic each time they drip..of that how much do u think they absorb into their body.. a very minute amount i would say..just something to think about. I normally vape about 3ml of juice a day. I hope this helps. Corrections apply if i am wrong in my calculations.

I feel somewhat the same way- I started thinking of my rountine when would I have an analog- and then vap within those limits- yes I miss the analogs and sometimes revert to them- this seems to me defeating the purpose of vaping. I have asked for advice and it seems to be a mind set of just wanting to stop the analogs all together but like you said found myself vaping constantly.

Hi mrgodai!
I'm still a newbie, 1 week 2 days, so I can't really tell yet how it's all going to work out as far as how much nic I'll end up using.
Wow, you were only smoking 3 to 5 ultra light analogs, I could never smoke that few in a day!
Way back, about 35 years ago I started with Marlboro Reds, then over the years cut down to ultra lights. Lately I'd smoke a pack or so a day of ultra light Winstons and sometimes my wifes full strength Newport 120s.
So many variables with analogs and e-cigs, it's hard for me to tell how much nic I was getting. Sometimes I'd drag so hard off the ultra light Winstons I'd burn one down by the time my wife would be 1/4 down her Newports.
Now I'm running 18mg juice and a bottle of 18mg that I cut in half with VG, planning on picking up some 0mg, working my way down.
Anyhow, good luck!
