Personally, as a never-smoker, I have started vaping with the intention of getting a "quick boost" via nicotine, much like I already do with a double-shot espresso with lots of caffeine, when I need to throughout the day, in a convenient pocketable form factor. Which let's face it, is also kind of cool.
EDIT:
If anyone wants to form for themselves an educated opinion about Nicotine's merits and facts, make yourself a favor and read this: Nicotine - Gwern.net
I have spoken with several people like you who never smoked and vape with nic. The others said they haven't developed any craving for nic and can and do stop for periods of time without difficulty. What about you? Do you now have a nic craving or can you take i or leave it? I haven't read all the posts in this thread.
in....When it comes right down to it...I vape for the nicotine...it relaxes me..and takes the edge off...helps sharpen my focus when more coffee only gives me the jitters..I know I am self-medicating..but I used to do that with alcohol ...so far ..a few months in...I haven't noticed vaping ruining my personal relationships, causing me work performance issues or withdrawal symptoms, other than wanting relief which I would have sought anyway in more hazardous directions.
