Wow, so excited!! Craig sat and looked at the different options with me, he doesn't like the gripper mod, so he's deciding between the kgo and the spinner. He also told me that he plans to make the switch completely and stop smoking all together! He wants to use this as a smoking cessation device rather than a replacement for smoking. I hope he's able to succeed, but I won't mind if he likes vaping and continues to do so... it looks like it has the potential to be much cheaper than smoking cigs and quite a bit healthier too.
Thank you everyone!!

Please give Craig a pat on the back from all of us for stepping up to the plate. And kudos to you for researching and spending this time asking questions and absorbing all this info. The good news is the Kgo, Spinner and Twist ALL use the same type of charger and ALL use 510 threaded accessories so if he wishes to upgrade or expand down the road literally all he would need to purchase are batteries rather than a full kit.

As far as the dropping and/or kid throwing issue you can either go with the rugged durable Provari path or go with the eGo path. While provari's are more durable they also cost way more. But if the 2y/o throws the eGo it's cheap enough to replace.
I just love how people read only the first post and don't bother reading any of the following responses.

MyKuLoO, thanks for your opinion, but everyone is past that point now.

Just do something, times a'wastin.

I know, I know. Little set back, gotta wait til the 15th now...... our ignition lock cylinder decided it wanted to be a punk, so we've got to replace that with this paycheck. grrrr

I tried to get him to just dive in and go for it, but he sees $6 per day ($5 and change) differently from $40. I don't know why. I guess he figures if he has to make a pack last for more than a day he can, but can't recoup the $50 if he needs it?? Idk. Bummed, but we'll get there! Just so glad I found this place so I could learn all that you guys have taught me. We definitely would have stupidly wasted money on an ecig from the store if I hadn't found you all!

LOLLL you sound just like most of us when we we're waiting for our first kit. Regardless of your status as a non smoker you fit PERFECTLY in here at ECF and I'm so very glad you found us

Congrats and welcome. Please let him know that he doesn't have to go cold turkey. Don't discourage his will power, but if he feels at all fidgety about having a smoke, sometimes it's best to avoid a nic fit and just have a smoke. Many of us continued smoking at least one a day, or the important ones like after dinner and you know what, the vapor has a way of eventually coercing you away from smokes as your blinders come off. Cold turkey can add the same stress every cessation device does, scaring people into a panic and back to the old habit.

Good luck to you both.

Aww, thanks  I feel so loved! AND I just read a couple tutorials and watched a couple vids and I think I'm going to save us some money and put the lock cylinder in myself! It looks pretty darn simple and makes me want to smack the person that charged him $250 to do it in the past on our other car. :censored:

Hmm, if advance has one in stock, I may well just have it done before he gets home from work!!

Again WTG Tracie. I do all my own work on my car. Just replaced air suspension- mechanics cost= $3000.00. My cost= $800.00. There are some great automotive forums out there. 2 weeks ago replaced the alternator- mechanic cost= $400...my cost= $125.00

Amazing how much one can save repairing your own car with just a little time & the right tools. I also never take mine to the mechanics anymore .... unless its body shop work... that can sometimes be an art!

Seeing as I'm in front of a PC all day and used to be in construction I really enjoy and look forward to getting my hands dirty and doing some manual labor.

Same here, Vapoor, my youngest son was born 12 weeks early so I stay at home with him. I've always enjoyed tinkering and getting dirty when I work and I miss that. I've replaced a couple of alternators on my cars in the past, thermostats, headlight and taillight housings etc.. simple stuff. I'm pretty mechanically inclined and once I saw the video tutorial, I was like that should be a breeze! I'll take a little bit of frustration and working in cramped spaces to save $200+ any day. I'm actually looking forward to it, now. Bd is a maintenance man, changing out the cylinder in a door lock is quite similar... He just has a habit of babying the cars and not wanting anyone but one specific garage to work on it. I think once he sees the vid, he'll be on board with doing it ourselves.

Then I can call his bluff and make him order his kit!! hahahahhaa

That's another good reason for Craig to quit smoking...you sound like quite the gal. My wife who's a banker is the same. Always helping with projects, loves my tools and says she has a sense of accomplishment after finishing a project. Give a hug to the lil' guy for me...they are gifts from above IMO.
I've also got a mechanic but he understands where I'm coming from...he was host on a Lemonaid car show awhile ago and is just an amazing individual.

Yeah, I think he's finally ready. He had promised to quit before our son was born, but after Ty came into this world 12 weeks early at only 1 lb 12 oz, he was understandably stressed and couldn't give it up. Now, our son is doing remarkably well and I think he feels a lot more at ease with life itself. Plus I've been making his life a living hell lately about the smell of smoke on him and coming into the house blah blah I think he's just plain ready to give it up and shut me up!

LOLLLLL I don't know him but I believe he's ready. I have no idea of how my wife accepted and enjoyed hugs and kisses while I was smoking...Most of us smokers...it's always on our minds about the terrible and terminal diseases associated with smoking. We just don't like to share that part of us with loved ones. I think he's going to be quite surprised at how enjoyable vaping will be. I smoked for 44 yrs and had tried everything to quit. I don't drink, take "funny stuff", and literally had no sense of taste or smell (nasal issues) so when I say I LOVED SMOKING it was my one and only way of stimulating any type of senses within me- throat, hit, taste, etc.
