For me i have spent way too much on my other hobby. Paintball. over $3,000 in one year. so i come to this with an attitude of "Budget Baller". I have spent just $100 and i'm set for another 3 months.

This is leading up to my new creation? i guess, more like a new material for a cart mod that is the best one i've found.

but anyways, if your lucky and you have a good mind set, you can make it by with very little money.

I have become addicted to ordering things and then watching my email for shipping updates. Ive been able to curb this addiction by filling carts of various websites and then not ordering lol. Wishlists are my favorite. I have too much juice as it is and theres at least 20 different flavors/vendors I want to try. I am recently unemployed ( again ) so I cant go crazy like I want to. But at least Im not spending the 9 dollars a day i was spending smoking a pack and a half a day in cigarettes.

check my sig. Ive spent about 250 more dollars on juice and backup gear. So instead of 900 bucks Ive only saved 650 bucks. Its STILL $650 bucks! hehehe

I've spent about $400 in just over a month of vaping, but with the spare hardware I just ordered and the juices that are on their way, I should be set for at least 5 or 6 months. I'm about 100 in the hole right now, but in about 10 days I'll have broken even.

I can't believe how much money I'll be saving, it's amazing! I had been trying to figure out where I could save 20 here or 10 there, what spending I could cut out and not miss it too much. Then realized that if I just quit smoking analogs, I'd save more than enough to ease the ol' budget. I have quit smoking for over a month now, and I don't even miss it.

Best savings/get out of debt plan ever devised! And my body thanks me for it too.

Vaping is definitely worthwhile but the original post is so damn true...
So far I have saved about $150 cutting down on analogs and spent $700 after my last two orders.
In the last 6 weeks.

I DO see some light at the end of the tunnel: I now have the pv I need (and a couple of emergency spares!) and some spare batteries on order.

Juice and attys will be about all I need from now on so once I find a few flavors I really like enough to stick with, the saving will start.
And cost far less than my old 2 pack a day habit.
wow I started 6 weeks ago too and dropped $700 and got prodigy v3, riva 510, riva 901, ton of flavor, juice , 30 25 atty 40 cartos....but i agree with you that the saving will come sooner or later. Already paying off in health wise.

i have had some bad luck with vapeing since i started. first i started off buying my e juice from a local place and a bottle of 15ml of juice cost $25 and still to this day one of my favorites is from them. next both batteries on my 510 went out and i was getting tired of having to always recharge them so went with an ego and spent about $90 on it with an extra atty. i would say to this day i have spent more in e cig stuff then i did on smoking but my life and the way i and everything else around me smells is way worth the money.

Great post phorbin.
I was looking at the T-Rex at first, but ended up buying the Riva.
Up to this point, luck has been on my side parts wise, only had one defective atty.
I've spent $240 and am damn glad I did! I have lots of extra parts and liquid.

Even if I have to vape unflavored e-liquid while I'm chewing my favorite gum, that is still much better than analogs! ... If I am still vaping a year from now, I will then consider buying a 'mod'. :vapor:

So I'm not the only one who does this? Oh good! I work from home too, so I keep looking out the window in the morning, waiting for the mailman to pass by.

I can sure relate to your story.

I've probably spent $1,300 or more in the first two months, but I swear I'm done buying for a few months and should break even by the middle of March.

A lot of that was for junk that I'll never use (Volcano products, passthroughs, liquids I don't like).

I have enough juice to last until about June 2011, plus a lot of small bottles of various liquids that I'll probably never use again.

I have seven eGo batteries (and one dead eGo that burned out due to my fault).

I have seven passthroughs that I won't use much anymore.

I have enough cartomizers to last for the next two or three months and enough atomizers to last for a long, long time.

Recently, my best friend wanted to start vaping, and since I had done all the research and even ordered the parts for her, she gave me $101, and I gave her the following (all bought in one order at litecigusa.net, except for the juices, which I gave her for free):

Two eGo 900mAh batteries
Two eGo 510 atomizers
2 boxes of Boge 510 cartomizers
Stainless steel drip tip (the best drip tip!)
USB wall adapter
eGo fast USB charger
1-30mL of my juice mixture
6-3mL samples of my old juice
2-10mL samples of my old juice

She's all set and never had to do anything, except hand me $101. She's only vaped about 15mL of juice in the last two weeks (as of tomorrow night), due to not being able to vape much at work, and she's been working 12 hours per day lately.

I wish it had been that easy for me!

Once i decided that vaping was something i could really get into, i went through a period of 4 weeks where i spent about 40-75 dollars a week. I did find it a bit difficult to restrain myself. And i gotta tell you that i am really holding myself back from ordering a spiced apple cider flavor for a bit.

It started off orderign, waiting till my analog budget caught up, ordering again, waiting for analog budget to catch up.

But now it is the opposite. I am saving money compared to the analogs. I could go on a spending spree on like 50 differant flavors and still break even. I gotta say, it took a fair bit of will power though.

I thought I did my research well enough so placed my order and miss. Cut my tobacco down but not out and massive pain to work with. An upgrade and more money later still no good. Yet another upgrade and more money later analogs are gone but still way more work the smoking. Some modding and cash later I think I'm there now. No tobacco, low maintenance, and nothing left to buy but a monthly order of juice and a 5 pack of E2s. So for me 3 months to break even, 3 months hovering at break even, and the last 2 months have been a quarter of my old tobacco budget.

I've been vaping for about 1.5 months, and spent around $500. I was getting my smokes for $20 a bag (carton worth) on the native reserve.
It will pay for itself assuming I stop buying more things by around March.

But you know what...for being able to quit smoking, it would be a bargain at twice the price.

And all the family and friends I tell about ecigs don't have to spend as much, because I can give or sell cheaply some of the stuff I tried that just wasn't good enough for me. Gives them a chance to try it out, make sure they like vaping, and then come back to me and let me hook them up with good stuff without them having to spend as much trying things.

I'm sitting back reading this thread and nodding my head in agreement. When I first looked into vaping, I was looking at it totally from the economic point of view. My views are slowly changing. Seriously, I have been known to pick up a hobby and become so engaged it in and then one day I wake up and I've totally forgotten about that hobby because some other thing has caught my attention. I've spent goo gobs of money on what I call my ADD hobbies. Anyway, I am saying this to say that dang, this vaping thing has totally got my attention and I am engrossed and seriously, this interest has been like no other. I literally started vaping about a week ago. I hope I don't go broke in the process. I still can't imagine spending $255 a month (the amount I was spending on analogs) on this hobby. LOL
