Thanks Mlinky! Had a blast yesterday. And I see you're due up next month! Won't be long now. I can't believe its been a year.

My REO Grand still gets a real good workout when i'm at home. Its just too bulky (for me anyway, as always YMMV), which was what made me love the V-mod. There are so many options out there, its no wonder that vaping newbies get overwhelmed sometimes.

I ADORE my tiny REO Minis. :)

Cisco 1.5 ohm 306 attys, VaporBomb Fire n Ice, AW IMR 14500 batteries, my monthly maintenance is about $40.

Congrats on your turning!!

I sometimes can't believe it has been almost a year. It's amazing and life-changing isn't it? I love that you resurrected your old thread, I may have to follow suit!

LOL, wait til Rob comes out with the metal midi (18490 battery). It will be almost as small as the Mini, but last through 3ml of juice. Due out in a couple of months.

Although expensive at times, I tend to get more then whats needed to work efficiently, as stated its more of a healthier hobby in my book. I enjoy the new products that work, I give the others away or combined them with other parts I like when applicable. I sold health insurance until my wife got cancer and saw how the policy really worked. Shes now fine, we both vape and are happy to drop a few bucks on something thats exciting to us even after two years of vaping.

I've been vaping for about 11 weeks. Most of that time, I was still smoking (though smoking quite a bit less than I had been before.) For the past few days (94 hours) I haven't had a cigarette.

I've kept an exact count on what I've spent on vaping stuff. My eGo starter kit, atomizers, cartomizers, tanks, fluid, shipping. My vaping total is 372.58. That includes everything vaping related with the exception of paper towels. :)

And I'm pretty stocked up, with juice, and backups for everything except the battery charger. I suspect I could go for a month without placing an order if I needed to.

My last order was a week ago, and when it came in, I did some math. It's just an estimate, but I've got a good idea of how many cigs I was buying before I started vaping, and how many I bought while I was vaping. And of course, I know how much I"ve spent on the vaping stuff.

As of a week ago, I estimated I was about $100 ahead. Also, based on my old habits, I'd have bought another 2 cartons of cigs to get me through that week (I was smoking 3 PPD), and I was paying $40 a carton (for off-brand cigs.)

So right now, I'd estimate I'm $180 ahead. But I'm really farther ahead than that, since I now have juice and cartomizers and batteries and such.

And the big thing, of course, is that a I'm no longer smoking. It's too soon for me to think of myself as a non-smoker, but so far, it's working well.

Based on what I was spending before, in theory I could buy a mod a month from now until eternity, plus whatever juice I need, and I'd still never spend as much on vaping as I was spending on cigs.

In practice, I expect to get a Buzz Pro fairly soon, and maybe one more VV mod after that (so I know I have a backup if something happens to the Buzz Pro), and then I expect to quit buying mods.

Having just recently getting a BP, I'm thinking 'bout purchasing another, just as a backup...

Backups are important. I certainly won't be giving my eGo setup away just because I got a Buzz Pro - those will be my backups. (And I may use them when I go dancing. I don't mind leaving an eGo on my table while I dance, but I'd worry a lot more about an expensive mod.)

If all I had was one PV, and something happened to it, I'd be right back on the cigs.

hahaha, yeah, I agree with backups. At the one year mark I still use eGos now and then despite my mod collection. An ego batt with LR 306 makes a pretty decent dripping set up. I use my eGos quite a lot when testing out new (to me) juices. If it turns out its something I don't like, at least I haven't put 5 or 6ml of it in a bottom feeder to find that out. When the mod collection grows, extra batts are a must so u never have to lose a mod to recharge time. Some of the fat batts (i'm thinking about my 2300mah 18650s in particular) can take a LONG time to recharge.

Somewhere out there
no rush grim...when its time for a mod...you'll know. And yes this post was all in good fun...actually another ECF member sorta egged me on to do write this post. But its funny to me because its true....at least in my case. And I started out simply enough, as did so many others here, just wanted to stop smoking. Vaping was supposed to be an alternative but for many, like me it seems, it becomes a passion.

Yep I have to agree, it is a fun hobby and healthy so what the heck! My mom asked me when I was going to wean off e cigs, I said never! LOL I keep adding what I saved on analogs, and it is still less than I spent on e cig supplies :) I guess one day I will catch up LOL bnrk

I've dropped well over $1,000 on e-cig stuff since I started messing with them over a year and a half ago. I've still spent less than if I had continued to smoke during that whole time (14 months of it are smoke free).

If someone finds what they like quickly they're set. If someone needs to experiment with different stuff it's a different story. Same if you get into mods/whatever and just have to try all the latest and greatest stuff out there. I know what works for me so my cost isn't that much anymore.

hi all:)..in 7 months I learn so much from ECforum, everyday without fail i check in to see what going on..from the latest gear to what the "Jones" are getting the fav juices & accessories etc etc..i follow quite a few recommendations like cartos, juices, atties and starter kits..through all that i make my own deductions(making mistakes as i go along)..i am looking at simplest form of using electronic cigarette with 2pcs or 3 pcs setup..must have what i want in good vapor and TH & practicality of lest problem on usage and functionality on my e-cig..now as i learn and still learning i have my final setup and loving it..

1)batteries LCD EGO(900-1100 mAh)ideal (VV EGO preferrably 900 or 1100 mAh,next on my shopping list)

2)i am a fan of the tank system i like the 510-T(tank setup)..510 lr or sd atties..good vapor & TH & the mouthpiece i like..tick all the boxes i like about vaping cloud of warm vapor esp with lr atty,TH is good..cartridge 1.2ml to 1.8ml is ideal..simple to refills using a syringe inject into the hole at the base without taking the cap off and a little maintenance each time with cotton swab and tissues on battery/atty and cartridge(last forever if U use it properly)..atties has last and last when cleaning i perform fortnightly

not the type A or B atties with A or B tank..as the setup,i hate the mouthpiece and also the TH is minimal as the vapor is lukewarm

i spent $700 so far on my gadgets & accessories but the fun part of using an e-cig is beyond my expectation & loving it ..as now i explore DIY using bakery flavors(good as food additives, its good to vape on it..as i see no harm) with my base PG/VG nicotine mixtures..endless flavors i found..ice cream soda, pineapple, coffee, lychee i L-O-V-E..durian,chocolate and more

for the mistakes and $$ spent initially is extravagant by me but thro my mistakes..newbies can benefit what i learn & get the setup that works for me..hope they too can enjoy vaping as much as i am ..happy vaping every1..last but not least anything spend on electronic cigarette is $$ well spend.. as this is the only device that weaned me away from analogs after 30+ years on analogs..regards mafig

I am pushing a grand. 75 dollars from post 2 or 3? how!? I am now slowly converting folks at work, and slowly word is getting out locally that I am the vaping guy. This could be good or bad. I guess I will keep shopping deals to push off on other folks to keep them from getting the newb screw that dealt with converting over. It is basically 75 dollars getting folks hooked up with everything they will need without odd 3am phone calls with crazy questions.

I guess I should post that I was heavy in the roll you own world before I decided to change over, and was down to about .93 per day for a pack of smokes, so i am about 3 to 4 years down before I will actually break even, and I am only 2 months into it.

For my first post...

I started vaping April of this year. I found ECF first and made some, IMHO, wise beginning purchase choices. As of today I've spent $455 and a large % of that was on 808 batteries I've ruined on my own. Had I continued on analogs, at 1+ pack a day, I'd have spent $819. I just bought my first and hopefully last mod to alleviate the battery problem so I expect to start saving even more. ..for a while.

On day 4 with a Mistic purchased at a Pilot gas station. I had been eye-balling it for some time and even tried an Njoy but there was what seemed like ZERO vapor. Not so with the mistic. If there was any more "smoke" it would be too much! lol..have about $37 invested into two batteries, 3 carts, and a charger. I'm a pack and a half a day smoker and I've only had about 4 or 5 in the last three days..(all with beers..lol). Absolutley no urge to smoke an analog during the day. I dont know how any other ecig could be better than this one I found. Very happy. And yes, this is a new hobby. And like hobbies, I'd like to get something nicer as long as it vaps/smokes like the Mistic.

I would like to learn how to fill these carts..I was ablw to pop the top off and it can be done. I just need to research more...Great site and great Hobby! I'm loving this ecig thing!
