Hi, Brand New here. :)

In the two weeks that I've been vaping, I've managed to spend the same amount of money I would for a month's worth of analog cigarettes ($180 - $200). But....I have 3 batteries, 15 cartridges, 6 atomizers, an unseemly amount of ejuice and I'm joined at the hip with my PV. (not too mention just a few more things, PT,PCC - 510 of course :) )

What else did I get for my money? Being able to run up and down the stairs from the top floor to the basement of my home, 3x in a row, and not wheeze, pant and complain it's gonna kill me!!

vaping at work during my lunch hour, 'cause we're Tobacco Free, not Nicotine Free. Hehehe.

Finding out that my co-worker's perfume, that was just a little strong, is really, really cloying. Hmm, go figure.

Those are just a few of my favorite and not so favorite things I got for all the money I spent in the last 2 weeks. Even if I were to spend $20 less a month on vaping than on cigarettes, I've come out so far ahead, for me, totally worth it, IMO.

I am a bit embarrassed due to how much I saved so far since it reflects my previous heavy smoking habit (over 3 packs a day). I have kept perfect records (I am a scientist) of how much I have spent since vaping and how much I would have spent if I still smoked. I also bought tons of things that I gave a way and/or just did not like.

It should also be mentioned that at this moment I have around 1.5 years worth of supplies and juice; therefore, my savings will be MUCH more dramatic in the future.

Here is the data so far:

Would have spent on cigarettes = $7,120
Spent of ecigs and supplies = $2,893.4

Total savings (not too mention my health) = $4,226.6

Boy, do I hear ya on that one! People really need to stop using "Your sense of smell will come back" as a good reason to stop smoking! Seriously.... there was one day when I really considered taking up the smoking habit once again just so I'd quit being able to smell so well!

I haven't kept track, but the head math says that I'm doing well on my spending. $150 a month on tobacco will buy a lot of juice, batteries, and atomizers. My total spending on kits was about $150 initially and I'm still using all but one of the batteries I had in April.

My average spending on Vaping is around $60 per month, so I'm $90 per month in the black.

The trick is using all the juices that you order, even if it means you mix and match to make them work. One of my least favorite juices was Rum. I smelled the bottle and thought of Jamaican alcohol and never tried vaping it. One day when I was running out, I broke open the bottle and tried it. Not bad! It tasted much better than it smelled.

Other juices that were terrible upon arrival turned out to be just fine after a few weeks. Never give up on a juice, read the reviews before you buy hardware, and eventually you will settle down.

BTW, I got my first Backwoods Brew order about a week ago. 555, Applewood Tobacco, and Malty Toffee are the best I have ever vaped! I have never picked three juices from any supplier that were ALL good. These are highly flavorful, produce clouds of vapor, and I seem to never get that burnt taste using them. The bottle says PG, VG, and flavorings. I don't know the percentages but they are spot on in terms of being my best juice so far.

i think when you get a good set up rythm going you will save money in the end. i think people are overzealous with all these flavors of juice to choose from and want to try everyone of them and find that perfect all day vape flavor, which will be costley till you find them. bought a starter kit for pur realism not performance and had to buy a better pv in the end. overstocked there needs by nerviousness that they will run out of juice or supplys. when you find that pv, juice and what supplys you need, you get a rythm in your needs for shopping and what vendors to buy from in the end. i think everyone health is priceless and should feel good that they quit smoking in the end than how much money they spent. now we all need to do is step down our mg of nicotine till were all free of this drug and its habits, then we will all be saving money in the end.

Totally. I've spent about two months' worth of analog money in a week trying to get to a plateau of where I want to be with devices, flavors, and strengths. However, as my satisfaction levels off there's a good chance these supplies will carry me through three to six months worth of vaping, after which I expect maintenance costs to be pretty reasonable. Plus this is way more fun.

And the sales. The sales. They just don't stop. They. Never. Stop. Comingggggg.

I'm with you. I just googled "average cost chemotherapy". Lung cancer: $3,600 per month. I'm not really sure how they get that number. Whatever the dollar amount is, or how much comes out of insurance, or all the extra details, it really doesn't matter much because it is going to be far more, and can't come close to the value of me being able to see what my grandchildren will be like. Or being able to spend an extra year, or two, or an extra decade with them. $200, $300 per month? I'm good with that.

Wow- $18 a pack- I was grumbling that they're $10 in NY. I remember when they were less than $2- and I'm not that old.

I did the math.....my father, and grandmother were dead at 59, and 52 respectively- both of them smoked. The non-smokers all live well into their 80's and 90's.

The .... ton of money that I've spent on vaping gear is a tiny tiny investment for adding 20+ years to my life expectancy. It's probably less than my father spent on heart medications every month.

I think I am about to break even...maybe !

Ya sure ya are class LOL About as even as I am about to break LOL.
But seriously , this was a great post.
I have spent A LOT of money over the last yr and a half. I am finally happy with my choices (for now) ;-) and now I only spend what I would have on cigs in one month and no more, sometimes a lot less.

Gives me a great budget for PV gear etc. The better half never complains when I order!!! "After all dear, I am saving us money".

Big time truth in this. I got into e-cigs because I promised my new wife (we got married on Oct 16th) that I would quit by the time we got married (she's a doctor so there were to be no excuses). The gum and patch didn't satisfy the social aspects of smoking for me, so I went to the internets and discovered e-cigs and they changed my life. She'd be fine with with me spending more on e-cigs than analogs, so I'm pretty golden.

Heh, glad to hear I'm not alone!! After my 3rd order in the first week I just figured it would settle down but from what I see it really doesn't. On the positive side I haven't had a smoke in the 3 weeks! So....

$225 on 2 e-cig starter kits and 1 mod
$100 on carts, attys, a passthrough, driptips, etc...
$125 on pre-made juices and DIY supplies
Total spent in the first three weeks of vaping - $450.00

Quitting smoking... PRICELESS!
