Let's not forget something--most sites where we buy our PVs and liquids have that little blurb that reads something like, "Personal Vapors are not endorsed as smoking cessation devices...". Most of us went into vaping as a means of moving away from analogs. If the main benefit is that we feel healthier, and most of us do indeed get away from the analogs, then it's not a bad hobby to have.
As long as my doctor says the words, "You're doing great", I'll roll with vaping as long as possible. :)

There is some debate about " nicotine is bad for you " including medical studies (as stated here as a fact without documentation) but rather than argue that point I will simply say that salt, fat, and a whole host of other things found in the food, air and water we consume daily are very bad for you too, life is not without risks, we may as well accept that fact and live our lives to the fullest (IMHO) There is NO debate however that smoking KILLS millions every year. Tobacco (and the thousands of chemicals BT adds to it) have given nicotine a "bad rep" and much of that is not deserved.

Whatever your reason for vaping may be, every cigarette avoided is a win in my view VAPE ON

I really didn't have any intention of quitting cigarettes when I picked up my first (crappy) e-cigarette. However, even with that one I was impressed that I would be able to supplement my smoking in areas where I couldn't otherwise smoke. Then I began to learn more and more, and found this place (eureka!) and bought my first good e-cigarette. When I got that one, I IMMEDIATELY fell in love with it, and had absolutely no desire to smoke analogs anymore. It's been better and better, and what started out as a way to get around no smoking areas turned out to be a method to quit analog cigarettes. I have no intention at the moment of quitting e-cigarettes. I "may" try to taper down the nicotine levels over time, but at the moment see no reason to do so.

Initially my wife and I saw vaping we saw it more as a method to quit smoking rather than a less expensive alternative, but as we took the plunge into the wonderful world of E-cigs I noticed a curious and familiar (being a pipe smoker) attitude being adopted, that is that vaping was becoming something of a hobby; collecting, trading, sampling, mixing... Is this weird to anyone else? Anyone follow a similar path to vapedom? I guess I am interested to know if anyone shares my thoughts towards vaping, or if it is an unhealthy attitude. :vapor:
Vaping, well I started just like you, to quit smoking! Now, its becoming more and more of a hobby everyday. Also on that note, spending more and more $$$

I havn't actually started vaping yet but for me I want to try and get off the analogs so I maybe can breathe and if eventually I am able to go 0 nicotine that would be great. If I end up just replacing one habit for another I won't be upset I will probably be able to breath even at night when my chest gets tight from smoking too much all day or in the morning when my whole head is clogged. whatever it can do for me weather help me quit or just give my lungs a brake from all the wierd stuff ive smoked in my life I will be happy ( I get my pv today and start vaping in the morning

Wasn't planning to quit smoking. I bought my first crappy e-health ecig just for fun. I liked the flavors they offered. Didn't stop smoking until i bought a riva kit. I lose interest in smoking the first day i got my riva. 6 months later I was frustrated with fiddling cartridges, thinking that smoking is much simple. So I bought a pack of marl in cicle K, can't stop gagging from the first puff. Thrown it to a garbage can in front of that Circle K. Never wanted to smoke again.
I am vaping 12 & 6 mg now, mostly 12mg. I'm not planing to go lower though.

Sent from my mind using my fingers.

when i first started vaping i was smoking pack 1/2 a day plus some days 1-3 black and milds. i did NOT want to quit that smoking habit as i truley enjoy it and its a good way for me to wind down, i found vaping to be a safer, cheaper and much funner method of getting what i wanted :)

EDIT

i should also add i would like to drop down a nic lvl and see how it goes (18mg now) im just a little nervious to do so as my budget dosnt allow for alot of stuff. i think ill order 2-3 of my next samples in 12mg maybe.

For what it's worth, a couple of acquaintances quit smoking eight years ago. They still slap on nicotine patches and chew nicorette gum. They've found their alternate nicotine delivery systems.

I started out vaping 24 mg./ml. e-liquids 11 months ago; in the summer of 2011, I switched over to mostly 18 mg./ml. I'm comfortable at the 18 mg./ml. and get cravings below that level. In my case, I don't plan to reduce the concentration any lower or to quit nicotine altogether. It just doesn't seem to be a worthwhile goal for me. YMMV, of course . . .

Been smoking for 50+ years, the last 4-5 years two packs a day, It took about three weeks for me to quit tobacco. I was introduced to vaping by one of my employees, and I thank him everyday. Like others, I started in the hopes that I could quit tobacco, but like others, it has become a hobby as well. I've read a lot of information on this forum and I would like to thank all of you for the reems of information available on this forum. All the best to everyone in the vaping world.

I think that either consciously or subconsciously, everyone starts out with both methods as their goal. I am surely not the only one who needed that physical replacement of a cigarette in order to quit. I'm not the only one who needed to "feel the inhale" in order to quit. I'm surely not the only one who thoroughly enjoys the tastes of the different juices, either :D

Personally, I can see no reason to continue analogs after starting vaping. The experience is just so much better in all regards..the smell, the taste, the health benefits, so on and so forth..but I don't knock anyone elses hustles..to each their own

I started for health reasons. After finding ECF I found that there was also a financial reward. Currently vaping high nic, but plan on reducing that and maybe even quitting if the urges will go away and stay away as I follow the plan I have laid out.

Not a hobby and avoiding letting it become a hobby - I see nice mods - like them, but ignore that urge just like I do the analog urge. I would rather spend my financial gains on new fishing equipment than on a device that ties me to nicotine...

To me, I enjoy vaping. I don't think I'll ever go back to analogs, as long as I can get my nicotine thru PV's. I have several eGo's & EPowers. They work well for me, I have no desire (at the moment) to buy any mods. But, it is kinda hobbyish in that I buy & try new cartos as they come out. And I've tried & use Carto Tanks. I also keep extras of everything & a whole lotta juice around.

I first tried ecigs with a convience store cheapie to cut down on expensive smokes, but the store stopped carrying that brand. So a failure there. Later I bought an Njoy & when the cartos ran out, I stopped again. It wasn't until I saw a kiosk selling expensive ecigs did I go online & research them. I found this site and got a good PV & quit 3 days later. ECF probably saved my life. Thanks to everyone here!
