I aim for less clouds when I mix my juice. It's all about the TH and flavour.
I don't have to prove anything to anybody. I don't have to show others that I am vaping.
To me, big clouds just means big waste of juice.

Try this some time when you are just sitting and vaping. Do it with your eyes closed. Does it taste or feel like less of a vape?

I think those huge clouds of vapor is just another place we all differ from one another in our vaping preferences. While they look impressive, I have no need or desire for huge clouds of vapor to be content vaping.
I've wondered the same thing. Personally for me it's taste & TH over clouds. But I do pay attention to the clouds a little because the amount of vapor shows whether my coil is well built. I never try to build them for making huge clouds but if I get a decent cloud then I know the wicking is good & the connectivity to the coil is good, etc.

I was content until it all made sense..
I agree to disagree, once you go obnoxious its hard to vape anything else.. Flavors th, and nic delivery explode

Yes, it does feel like less of a vape. After 25 years of smoking my taste buds are in poor shape. Less vapor = no flavor. Period.

Yes. I have been on a flavor quest when vaping. The secondary effect has been an increase in vapor production. If I need to generate bigger clouds to get more flavor, so be it. Now that I am billowing bigger clouds, I no longer care as much about the size of the PV, or the mod, so bigger vaping equipment may be a tertiary effect.

Agreed...although I'm not sure mod size has much to do with the quality of the vape. I'm currently using a Reo Grand bottom feed box mod (about the size of a business card) with an RM2 RBA with a 1.2 ohm micro-coil and getting what is, for me, the perfect vape. This thing is the end-game for me. I can't think of another mod I'd like to try (although there are some pretty cool looking gadgets out there).

Well...for me it's not necessarily the size of the cloud but the density. For me a nice dense cloud = nic + flavor (flavor more than anything else...I'm already doing 6mg). In addition it scratches that mental "itch" that tells me I'm actually doing something other than sucking in air. Little to no vapor just isn't satisfying.

I suppose I could hold it before the exhale so that very little vapor comes out but the flavor on the exhale is important to me too.

+1 exactly

Everything in moderation. I still vape 2.4 mg because I need throat hit. But that's just me. I usually vape either 100 vg (Boba's), 50/50 pg/vg (Vapor Chef), or 60/40 pg/vg (HHV and my own B&M's juices). I'm not obsessed with "huge pluming clouds". But I know the difference between weak vapor clouds and nominal ones. That very much plays into how vaping worked for me and made me stay. It's almost purely psychological.

However, one thing does bother me. It's RSST people who blow these tremendous clouds in front of noob vapers. The noobs see this and want it, too. Then they look at their little eGo's and their vaping balls shrink by orders of magnitude. I know a person, when someone asks him about his cloud, he doesn't humble himself, but says, "It's a sub-ohm coil built with kanthal ribbon wire using oxidized stainless steel mesh...blah blah blah" And I can see those poor noob vapers kinda shrink back a little. No humility or humbleness whatsoever (from him, not them). And then he proceeds to blow huge clouds.

I have issues with this, but I can't really expound on them personally.

If you are exhaling a large vapor cloud then basicly you just wasted that juice you turned into vapor right?

It doesn't seem anyone has really touched on this, although it was the statement that jumped out at me the most.

First off, people are looking for different things from vaping. Some (like most people just quitting cigs) are looking for nicotine, and usually throat hit. Vapor production is nice and adds to the effect, but it's the FEELING of smoking that they're looking for. There are people who are looking primarily for flavor, and big clouds does not necessarily equate to more flavor. And there are people who want to blow rain clouds... because it's fun.

Second, big clouds don't mean "wasted" juice. In theory, you inhale X amount of juice, and will blow out X amount of vapor. Whether you intake X amount of juice in 1 hit or 14 doesn't matter. Also, the Vapor really isn't what you get your nic fix from. The visible vapor is basically water, which your lungs don't absorb nearly as quickly as they do nicotine. The vapor isn't what you're trying to get into your blood stream, and thus blowing clouds isn't really a "waste" of juice.

Of course, there are LOTS of variables here, heat/humidity, atomizer setup, PG/VG blends, nic strength, how long you hold the vape in your lungs etc. But for the most part, clouds do not = waste.

Excellent point. The new B&M vape shop by me has several cleros pre-filled so that people can sample flavors. They assemble the clearo onto a little 650 mAh Ego. The flavors come out quite well, and new vapors can see right away that they don't "need" the other gadgetry to vape pleasantly. They also don't push and upsell. I really like that shop. Great folks, honest, friendly and helpful to new vapers. I have sent several people their way, and will continue to do so.

It also helps to just not be a douche bag when vaping in public. I sit with the smokers, and don't blow the vape around families and kids. Courtesy is becoming a lost habit in our culture, in general.

Vapor cloud = showing off/fun
You can Vape without ever exhaling a vapor cloud (stealth vaping)

Stealth vaping as an ex-smoker, is a survival tactic for me. hahaha You know how regulated smoking has become in CA, so they aren't very tolerant of the vape scene yet. Stealth vaping through an A's game, or a long Costco trip with the wife has cemented my love for vaping over smoking.

One thing I do hang over the RSST people I know... We all share an obsession with VC's Honey Pearry. All of us do. I ordered a 60 ml bottle exactly one month ago as of tomorrow. I still have half the bottle. The RSST'ers, they're already on to their second (even third) 60 ml bottle within that time. Huge clouds are awesome, but oh, they most definitely come at a price...

If I witness this happening at my B&M, I do my best to quietly acknowledge to my customers that THAT isn't what vaping is about. THAT is a hobbyist having fun. YOU'RE just wanting to quit smoking, and it works. You don't need THAT for this to work...

It seems that most people against clouds, and talking of wasted juice, have never enjoyed a good cigar. I dare anyone to sit and inhale one of my Monte Cristos, but they have a flavor that is only described as "perfect." They will also put you in nic overload if you are not careful, and that is without inhaling. Is the smoke wasted? Nope.

I haven't had a cigar since I started vaping. I still intend to have one on the rare occasion. But I vape in a similar fashion to smoking a cigar- not all of the vapor is inhaled. This maximizes flavor, provides a moderate level of TH, and produces clouds.
