I'm gonna hold you to that promise!! :)

Luckily I did finally get around to ordering my batteries today (just went with Samsung 25R in the end) and they will arrive tomorrow. What I don't have yet is a charger, but hopefully the batteries come with a bit of juice at least. If not I'll just stroke it gently and fondly during the 6 hours it takes to USB charge :)

No, I'm not going to assume it'll come tomorrow. Faintly hope, perhaps.. :)

You went for a nitecore right?!?! I have only used 25Rs and they are great as far as I can see. Apparently the newest ones are green not light blue but I only have the blue variety! My sx mini is supposed to come tomorrow plus a back order of rda's from 3Fvape so it looks like it could be a good vape day in the south of the UK.

Let us know if it turns up!!

Cheers mate

25Rs should arrive at 3.6-3.7v, mine are almost always around 3.65v.

I didn't order the charger yet, because I was dumb and just left them in my cart all weekend and when I got to it late Monday night, they'd sold out. So I just ordered the batteries (and some new RDAs, naturally). But yeah I will most likely get the Nitecore D4 - I can get it from Amazon any time. To be honest I didn't think there was any chance of the VF coming tomorrow so assumed I had a few days still!

But based on this:

25Rs should arrive at 3.6-3.7v, mine are almost always around 3.65v.

Sounds like I'll be fine to start playing if it does come! Thanks, Dan!

I'll get the charger in the next couple of days, and USB charge in the meantime.

No damn it, it won't come tomorrow, that is not going to happen! That would be far too quick and efficient, and I am always disappointed by shipping, not pleasantly surprised :)

I'm starting to write mine off as lost in the mail. It was shipped from China on the 15th, left China on the 17th, should of been in Aus by the 19th at the most, nearly 3 weeks later, no show. I may have to email 3Fvape and see what they can do about it.

I ordered something from fasttech on the 25th, it shipped on the 27th, 12 days after the 3fvape order and it arrived yesterday so something has gone wrong.

to be honest i think you should mail them. That seems a bit odd but really getting stuff from China is a total crapshoot. Sometimes its really quick (not very often) and mostly its best to forget about it and be pleasantly surprised when it turns up..anyway, their customer service is great so worth a shot!

G'day mate! ;)

Yeah, I'll give it to Friday then contact 3FVape if it has not turned up. Pretty dissapointed as I originally ordered a black Kangxin which after 2 weeks had not shipped, they said they had 2 silver Waida's in stock so I jumped on that and it was shipped the next day, now over 5 weeks later after the original order I still have nothing but a headache. Starting to wish I never ordered in the first place or went with focalcig.

Well you would never guess it, here I am sitting in my depressed state when I hear a van door slide shut outside and a van taking off up the street. I'm thinking, that sounds like the courier that normally drops stuff off and lo and behold in my mailbox is sitting my Flask, WOHOO!

Time to crack this thing open and see if it works now.

Edit: wow, this thing is so much smaller than I thought it would be, the pics make it look big but this thing is quite a bit smaller than my Sig 100w Plus which takes 2 18650's also.

Well, My Waida Silver VF is working perfectly as far as I can tell. Still trying to work out temp mode as I hit the 'temp protection' real fast but I think that is an airflow thing and a setting adjustment and a little fiddling and Ill get that all down. Working with ni200 is a lot more fiddly than Kanthal, that is for sure.

My LG he4's slide in and out with no problem at all, plenty of room for them but no rattle, this thing is solidly built, it is like a little brick. I'm glad I went with the Waida, the fixed 510 does not bother me and it had read the 3 attys I've tried so far no probs. Lemo, Derringer and Plume Veil.

Just running in normal non temp mode for now until I can get a new build going as I broke my coil in half trying to re-position it for better airflow. Ni200 is a lot weaker, found that out the hard way :p

Feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders now this has arrived. Hopefully all who are still waiting for theirs to arrive that they come soon.

Edit: sorry for the triple post, I'm a liitle excited

So finally got around to making my intro thread and just hit 5 posts so here I am to post that I ordered my kangxin black flask on 3/27, my 1 month quit anniversary, tracking says it's sitting in LA customs. Can't wait for it to arrive as my Ipow2 510 threads are starting to get loose and having to recharge the thing about twice a day is starting to get annoying. And of course at the point I ordered the general thoughts were the kangxin was the one to get so a little disappointed that now the waida is the better one.But oh well maybe when I'm ready for another one there will be a better version available.

So I did in fact get my Waidea this morning. Good delivery times etc.

But first impressions were that it's f'ed :( Update: but it might just be that the batteries are completely empty, or dead themselves.. Though if so, it's still been behaving very weirdly (it seems to me.)

  1. Visually it seemed fine - a couple of little marks here and there, a bit of dirt, but probably would all clean up OK.
  2. The threads on the ends of the battery tubes (where the caps screw in) seem particularly dirty, but again that might clean up.
  3. My new Samsung 25Rs also arrived today, and I have no charger, but they showed about 50% charge which should be fine.
  4. I put my Atlantis on it, asked New Up/Same Down, it read the resistance at 0.55 or something (sounds about right), and it fired OK.
  5. Then I put my Subtank on it, again it asked New/Same, and read around 0.57. I tried to fire it, and suddenly it read 0.07 and said "Too Low". That's weird, I thought. Maybe I didn't screw it on right..
  6. I took that off and tried my ELeaf Lemo, which is reading around 1.3. New/Same check. That fired OK.
  7. Put the subtank back on, it read 0.57 again, then when I went to fire it, the device just shut down. Wouldn't wake up on the fire button 5 times, just nothing happening. Blank screen.
  8. So I took the batteries out and put them back in, and it woke up.
  9. But since then, it hasn't ever fired again. It reads the coils and the resistance, and sometimes it seems to show that it's firing - showing a voltage being applied - but the coil never heats up.
  10. Sometimes it just shuts itself down as soon as you hit fire.
  11. I've tried plugging it into the USB and pass-through firing, same symptoms.
  12. When it came it was in temp mode, though obviously was detecting Kanthal. Shortly afterwards I turned temp mode off
  13. Another symptom: sometimes the battery indicator correctly reads around a half or a bit lower. Sometimes it reads full.
  14. I've tried it on just one battery, trying both batteries one at a time separately, and tried both tubes independently.
  15. I've extra-tightened the battery caps in case they were loose or not making a good connection.
  16. Right now I've left it on USB charging, in case the batteries were so low it's messing it up or something.

Update, here's the most recent test results:

  1. Tube 1 = the one below the 510; Tube 2 = the one below the screen (that's just how I refer to them)
  2. Tried four tests: battery 1 in tube 1; battery 2 in tube 1; battery 1 in tube 2; battery 2 in tube 2
    1. With either battery 1 or battery 2 in tube 2 (below screen), it does not turn on at all
    2. With either battery 1 or battery 2 in tube 1 (below 510), pressing fire brings up "DNA 40" then it immediately went blank again.
  3. Then tried both batteries in again, pressing fire brought up "DNA 40" then the screen went blank, then it wouldn't turn on at all.
  4. Then I plugged it back to USB charge, and the red light is on, battery indicator reads full. I'm going to leave it like that for now.

One problem I have is that the batteries are also brand new, just received this morning at the same time as the flask (not from 3FVape though, UK company), and I have no proper charger yet. So I can't independently check their charge, or charge them up.

I might see if I can go out and buy some different 18650s and a charger this afternoon.

Could it just be that the batteries are basically completely flat?? Or faulty? Certainly the symptoms seem to be changing - like 20 minutes ago the screen would display fully, and it would try to fire, but wouldn't. Now it won't even turn on, or turned on then went off again. This could indicate I was using the very last bit of charge.

But surely it should say "Battery low" or something, not do all this crap? :(

Anyway not given up hope quite yet, but not been a fun morning so far.

awwwww mate :( Sorry to hear your strife. Hopefully its a prob with one of the batts! If the batts are in parallel I guess it shouldn't matter which one is filled. Is there any adjustment on the terminals in the flask? There is on the kangxin but not much and it breaks easily.

If all else fails, document the issues with pics/vid and you should get a replacement from 3fvape. Hopefully that won't be necessary.

let us know how you get on!

good luck pal

steve

Am I right that it works with everything but the subtank mini or is that too obvious? In my experience both the rba deck and the ni heads are a pain in this device. Make sure everything is cranked down tight, particularly the air hole screw thing on the bottom of the rba (if thats what you are using. It is really flaky!

Sadly not. The Subtank Mini was what started the problems off. But after taking off the ST the first time, it then fired OK on the Eleaf Lemo. Then putting the ST back on, it stopped firing, and now won't fire with anything. I've tried four different tanks (Aspire Atlantis, ST, Eleaf Lemo, Aqua v2).

It's now been on charge 50 minutes, after about an hour I'm going to take it off and try again. It takes 6 hours for a full charge, so 1 hour is only about 15% charged, but surely that should be enough to bring it up to "usable" again, if it is the battery charge level

When I take it off charge I'll also look closer at the battery threads, cleaning them etc. And I'm thinking of going out to get a charger and new batteries soon, if I can get hold of the store to check they have them.
