Heespharm,

Last night I made a ref. to AMDs problem with the short and I said with "No Atty" plugged in. I said that wrong it is only with the atty in. The center pin in VF pushes down and shorts to the negative lead that goes to the 510 connector ground lug.

Like I said AMD claims it is a "Dog Simple" fix if you are willing to open the unit. You should PM AMDTrucking and see what he has to say. I'll bet he can tell you how to have it fixed and running in less than 15 minutes.

Here is a link to the pictures he posted: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-dna-40-nr-nickel-builds-20.html#post14829440

PS - the hex wrench is a 3/64.

I know how to do the fix... I actually showed how to do it when the vapor flask came out .. I just don't want to do anything that'll keep me from getting a replacement just in case bc I already have 360 tied up in this mod and shipping for rma etc

I understand completely. While I am pretty quick with the do it yourself suggestions I would probably take your path and send it back. But I'll tell you the shipping does start to add up pretty fast. - Ugh!

One good thing about having them fix it is they might not have any idea that this particular problem exist or I would think they would take a little extra effort to make sure it doesn't happen. I mean it just takes a little care in assemble.

Yeah I emailed them the pics and they "fixed" it by adding a plastic circle under the posi post... Well this "cuts" the wire even more which is what happened to mine I'm guessing

Either way I'm starting the 12 stages of grief all over again! Hahah

Hey guys!
Just joined the gang... I haven't been on this thread because my first run Flask40 (confirmed order first minute of first day VapingArt) was glitch free until yesterday.
Sending in to VF today.
At least they have the RMA down by now.

Mine acted up showing "weak battery" with fresh batts after about 3 vapes. Tried another set of fresh batts and same thing.
Then it showed volts only.

Got to have backups; just ordered a new VaporShark 40D to go with the XPV40 that's still glitch-free... now I will have 2 proprietary battery devices while I wait.

I will say this tho,., with all my problems, the communication and service of vapor flask has been top notch

Yuppers - I have to agree. I just sent them a note asking if they received mine and when I may expect it back. They responded by email within 30 minutes. WOW!!!

That makes me feel better about giving them my money, especially coming from someone who has had so many issues. I hope your next one is as good as mine, I'm really loving it!

I absolutely love the design of the vapor flask, there is just one thing that keeps me from buying it. The lack of being able to use my samsung 25rs in it, my vtc5s have been loosing their charge after like a million cycles and there is just no way to reliably replace them with all of the fakes on the market. Plus the 25r has a much longer lifespan at higher watts imo, while the vtc5 is the most powerful the 25r has the best endurance. With a dual battery 40w device, its vaping time that is the major bonus and power isn't really as important with the two cells paired, so it sucks not being able to utilize it. That combined with the so far janky dna40 have kept me planted on the fence.

Waiting patiently on a dna40 v3 VF, I can't get with being basically a beta tester for a device with this price tag. I know that their service is great, thats not the issue. It for me is that a $300 mod should come to your door with ZERO major issues. That is the high end of high end in the vaping world, so it should come as so. If they knew the evolv board was having some serious issues they should have just backed up the release and sent out the perfectly working units IMO. Would have honestly saved both the consumer and themselves some time and $$ with all of the return and repairs they have had to do.

I love my Flasks. Have had to return 2 thus far. The one on the left is a v2 DNA30. Hoping to get the board swapped out for a 40 soon.

My Sammies fit fine.

Bizzare, must be slight changes to the diameter during production. My LVS (i go to school in raleigh) got in a few and i was there first thing the next day to see if my batteries would fit, vtc5s worked like a charm. My 25rs while i could have been able to get them in with some muscle, would have been impossible to get out, left scars on the sleeve from where i got them in half way. Could have potentially gotten them in if i removed their sleeves, but i hate doing that as it makes it difficult to tell batteries apart. I think they made it super tight to deal with battery rattle but legit 1-2mm would have been all the extra room needed to fit practically every 18650 make.

I could deal with that though and just use my last couple fresh vtcs but its mainly the dna40 (not really faulting VF with these) issues that i am waiting to see resolved. I know myself, i am impatient as hell when it comes to new mods, wanna use em as soon as they arrive. I know if i ordered one and had to send it back that i would be raging, venting it out on the FB groups and CS. Better for all of our sanity for me to just wait it out. So far the only really reliable dna40 has been the vaporshark from what ive been seeing, but temp control is taxing on batts so i really need a 2 batt mod to get me through the day. I'll prolly just wind up getting a custom if need be while i wait out VF.
