PT: Pass Through, e-cigarette that connects to USB port on your computer and does not require a battery or any charging, (someone please add the rest of the info re: plugging it into a wall thingy etc. because I only use mine on the computer, if you think this is important. I didn't know what PT was and it drove me nuts at first. LOL)

PV: Personal Vaporizer (I think?) That means your e-cig, right, in general terms?

VK: Vapor King ecigarette in context with this forum. (there's another company with the name Vapor King and is not V4L this one, is this worth mentioning).

V4L: Common reference to the website: Vapor4Life:: Because it's your life :: Electronic Cigarettes & Alternatives to Smoking

If you don't think this fits, no biggie, but when I started new, I couldn't keep this stuff straight.

Oh, and maybe post the difference between the auto battery and the manual type?

And what PCC stands for. I know all the alphabet soup identifiers really confuses newbies.

Please excuse if this is already posted somewhere or not appropriate for this thread - it's 1:20am and I can't see straight anymore! I'm new to the forum and new to all of this, but just ordered the VaporKing and couldn't find info anywhere on the ratio of number of cigarettes to one cartomizer, approximately. Currently I smoke a half-pack of American Spirit lights per day. Really looking forward to getting my "stuff"!! I'm trying to get a semi-sense of how long a 5-pack might last me. :) Thanks! I did read through this thread and maybe it's here, but I can barely keep my eyes open right now!

It really depends on many things, I vape about 2 new or refilled 18mg cartomizers per day. I used to smoke about 1 to 1.5 packs of marb reds per day. If you order two low of nicotine you might find yourself vaping more than you would at a higher level. Or if you are like me and love the flavors and the feel you might be vaping more!

I've learned to refill to make it more economical for me.

Thanks. (See, I haven't made it to bed yet ;) ).

I ordered the 18mg strength. I also couldn't find anywhere in the FAQ what strength that actually translates to. I'm assuming light, more or less?

I want to figure it all out first, before I actually try filling my own. I've had my eye on doing this for forever, and finally decided to get off my ... and do it after finding this forum.

I think 18mg is a good starting strength. Here is a guide to give you an idea on nicotine content http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...nverting-e-cigs-regards-nicotine-content.html To me 18mg is comparable to a medium type cig. I have noticed that what works for you isn't always what you expect. We have light smokers who need the high 36mg nicotine cartomizers to kill the craving and some heavier smokers who can only handle the lighter nicotine levels. We all have to experiment a little to find the nicotine level and flavors that work for us.

Filling is not difficult YouTube - How-to guide to refilling KR808D-1 or Vapor King cartomizers
Or some choose not to refill and just use new cartomizers every time, I'd love to do that but I like saving $$ more!

Welcome to the vaping family, poke around the forums and read and you will learn a whole lot!

Thanks so much! It's all a bit overwhelming at the moment. I must admit, one of the biggest reasons I want to do this (and it's the one I see least mentioned anywhere, including on advertising sites of different e-cig. companies) is to eliminate secondhand smoke. The fact that I'm not putting anyone else through my crap makes me feel very happy - and also makes me sound way codependent. ;) But I also look forward to not having a sore throat. And I'm sure you're right, that I'll probably have to play around some to figure out what works best for me.

If there are any specific threads or forums a beginner should read, do feel free to point me to them. At least right here, I'm definitely a follower and not a leader! ;)

Thank you. I'm very excited to get this product. Got to admit - as much as I love smoking I also hate it. I've hated the taste for years and can't smoke one without gum or a mint in my mouth (yet I don't like menthol - go figure). I tried the "evil" ones , the brand at the mall kiosks, and that was the first time and it really gave me a sense of what it was like so at least I thank them for that. And I'm also very glad I didn't succumb to instant pressure and impulse buying and get what he was trying to sell me right then, but came home and started researching. Whew! What a save that was! There's so much out there that I really couldn't make up my mind - until I found this thread. :)

I just got my Vapor King, only three days after ordering. Man, those guys are fast!

I have some questions. I've e-mailed them too, but obviously I'm excited to get started.

Question 1: I read here that the wall charger LED light will be red when charging and green when fully charged, and when I plugged it in it's already green. Do they charge them before they ship them?

Also, along with the two cigs - don't know what to call the bodies - there's also a yellow tube. I have no idea what that is. Anyone know? Thanks for any help you can give!

I THINK I've figured out the yellow tube. It appears to be another body that is charged through the cigarette lighter. it fits into the end of the piece that then goes into the lighter attachment. Now the only piece I still can't figure out is a small piece that has a USB port on one end and a screw-in on the other, about an inch long with nothing else. Guess I'll search their site and see what I can find.

Man - I have the passthrough plugged into my computer and it is AWESOME. Something Mark told me when I called the other day - I asked for hints for novices - is to make sure to drink lots of water at first because the glycerin stuff dries you out - is paying off as well. A whole new addiction. Very excited about this. :)

Does that "yellow tube" have a long cord between the "tube" and the flat connector that plugs into the cigarette adapter? That would be a USB passthru! You can also plug it into a USB port on your computer and use it like a battery. There's no battery in the "yellow tube", so it won't work unless plugged in.

The other piece is a USB charger. You won't find it on the site, but you just screw one of the batteries into it (NOT the one with the cord!!!) and then plug it into any USB port and it will charge that battery.

I finally did figure out the small piece is just a direct USB charger, separate and different from the passthrough.

The yellow tube, though, just has the LED-type end at one end (although it's not LED, but obviously meant to be the end of the e-cig) and the other end has a screw-in piece that fits into the piece that then fits into with the car/"lighter" charger. There's no cord attachment or anything. The screw-in end also fits the cartomizers, so I'm sure it is indeed a battery. I haven't tried it in the regular wall charger yet but everything else fits on it so...just an extra goodie, I guess!

I tell you, it's the weirdest thing...I have no idea if it's psychological or not, but I have a pack of American Spirits sitting on my kitchen counter and have not had a single desire to have even once since I started using this thing today. It's almost like having a full sensation and not feeling hungry. Don't know if that makes sense.

This is all very fascinating to me.
