Guys, I do believe you're right. I think the now-famous ;) "yellow tube" is a freebie shorty. It is indeed shorter than the others that came with the kit but it seems to want to be used in the same way.

Anyone else find the vapor stronger with the USB passthrough? It's probably also because my battery wasn't fully charged, but the video on V4L that Mark did says pretty much the same thing. Makes sitting at my computer way more fun now. ;)

I actually forced myself to head outside and have one of my American Spirits. There was absolutely no craving for it. And I probably have taken a total of 12-15 drags off this thing all day, tops. Wow.

Hold it so you can read the V4L logo, then turn it 180 degrees. Does it say Vapor King?

Yup! It's stronger than any of the batteries because it runs a 5 volts (absolute), while all of the batteries run at 3.7 volts (nominal).

Sounds normal! ;)

Glad you're liking it!

Yep, and in searching around this HUGE forum, I've figured out it's probably the older batch of them that need a bit of fiddling to get working properly. No problem. I'll get around to that. ;) Now I'm checking out flavor threads to get some reviews. Turning into a bit of a junkie - and so quickly!

Yes, I had already found that. :) Thank you!

Now, another puzzling question - I decide to find out the amount of nicotine in my American Spirit Lights. According to what I found, each smoke has just under 2mg of nicotine. Can someone explain to me the difference between e-cigs and analogs with regard to this, since obviously the e-cigs are all higher (with the exception of zero, of course!). I'm trying to figure out a good strength for myself without having to go through every strength on the site. I have 18 and 11 right now and 18 is a bit strong, 11 is good, but I'm wondering if I should go even lower. I know it's subjective and no one can tell me what to do. But I'm assuming if American Spirits have that amount, most smokes in general would be somewhat similar. So how do you all figure it out based on that? Seems these have a lot more nicotine. ??

I'm having fun with all this stuff. I'm THIS close to placing another order. :D

Your smokes have 2mg each (for arguement's sake).

One V4L carto is about 3/4 to 1 pack equivalent (number of puffs).

Even at 3/4 pack per carto (15 cigs) that is just over 1mg per "cigarette".

Plus, it has been said that the nicotine absorbtion from vaping is much lower than from smoking. I have no personal experience in this field, but you can find it in the general forums.

Even if it were all equal, we have still eliminated 4,000+ chemical compounds that smoking gave us. Not to mention that 400+ of those are known carcinogens.

Hope this helps to put things in perspective!

Thanks, Taryn! I did find a thread similar to that last night and it's been helpful. In my initial order I ordered 18mg and 11mg and am finding that the 18mg are probably too strong for me. Sadly, I ordered two boxes of those! But I'm fine with the 11mg and will probably order some more of those in different flavors very soon.

This whole thing has brought me some self-awareness too - I always figured that for me smoking was more about the ritual of smoking, lighting up, inhaling, going outside to do it, etc. etc. Now I see just how much nicotine really does play a bigger part, because I need way fewer vape inhalations and don't feel the need for analogs or even a lot of vaping because I'm clearing getting enough nicotine to satisfy me. And here I always thought it was the ritual I needed! Nope - it was the nicotine. ;) Silly me. :D

The batteries:
Length and output, all are rated at 3.7V
Shortys, are 65mm, 180 maH 97mm with a cartomizer
Reg are 78mm, 280-300 maH 117mm with a cartomizer
ExLong are 102mm 380maH 137mm with a cartomizer

Sawlight, I think these measurements still need to be revised, as according to your math, you have a different length cartomizer with each of those batteries (and, of course, the cartomizer length should be constant):

battery > total length - battery = cartomizer length
Shorty >> 97mm - 65mm = 32mm
Regular > 117mm - 78mm = 39mm
ExLong > 137mm - 102mm = 35mm

My ruler confirms the 35mm length for the cartomizer.

My regular battery measures 82mm, so the 117mm total length is correct.

I don't have a Shorty or ExLong, so all I can help you with is the Reg:

Shortys, are 65mm, 180 maH 97mm with a cartomizer
Reg are 82mm, 280-300 maH 117mm with a cartomizer
ExLong are 102mm 380maH 137mm with a cartomizer

All of those lengths were copied from what Steve posted, sorry for the differences.

Oh, no need to apologize to me... it's not affecting my vape! ;) I was just trying to help you out, seeing as how you authored the FAQ and went to the trouble of putting all that info in there... plus, I'd seen you continue to revise and update it... figured you'd want to be informed of any discrepancies, is all.
