Vaporesso Gen mod firmware update!

Firm support looks like to be over,so sad.I was wondering why we cant have puff and sec. on the main screen as it is done on the Swag 2.Looks so much better.I really hope to see that on some feature upgrade,as i saw in on my Swag 2.Not the most important,but too important not only for me,i guess.And as it seems on the Swag not impossible also.

This mod is junk. Don't buy it. That is it, that is all. Temp control doesn't work, period. They are refusing to fix it. Save the money unless you only use wattage mode. Sorry to be so harsh but the company knows it and won't fix it.

You all do realize between the new years festival starting on jan 20 and going two weeks or so and the further stop work order issues due to wuhan coronavirus it's quite likely nothing is getting done in any immediate future... right? If anyone from vaporesso is reading this: I hope you all are well and things get back to normal soon.

Aside from a weak pull on first fire I have TC working just fine on mine, though I had to do some trial and error to figure out a good TCR value (while ignoring STC as it's not very transparent what it's actually doing - ie: is it just picking a TC profile that seems closest? is it guessing the TCR when it's "detecting"?) - even my DNA250c winds up being more fiddly from day to day than Gen has been.

I am not sure about that complaining about TC not working.... I use SS on both prebuild coils and RTA and it is working fine for me, cant find any difference between aegis legend, just TCR a lttle higher to work the same way. I just dont liike the screen info, like no puff counter and so on..

My issue is that with brand new Samsung 30S batteries and a 0.15 coil at 95 watts, the mod is giving me overheat warnings. Anyone have any ideas?

Got my Gen today. Feels like a nice mod, but I have a pretty strange issue - when my baterries (Samsung 25R) are discharged to 50-40%, power drops. Not like it shows - "Battery Low" or something like that, it just doesn't provide the wattage it says it provide. I do 65 watts, but it feels like 45. When I crank wattage up to 150-220, nothing changes. Using VWN, Smart VW disabled, Auto ECO mode disabled, firmware 1.3. Batteries are fine, used them this morning in my Wismec RX200s and Predator228, nothing like that happened.

Just got a gen today, mostly due to the favorful tc reviews. Mine wears 1.3. version. I went straight to diy, dialed in the setting I use on other mods and didn't get that "wow" feeling. Probably the reviews we're on 1.0 version. I will have to play around a bit with it, but without a monitoring software (hint hint), it will take a lot of trial and error.

I turned on SVW. My aspire mini (read at 1.97 ohms) was fired at 8W. Ok so far. My TRUE mtl RTA w/ 28 gauge SS wire at 0.60 ohms, was fired at 32W . A very nasty hit. (Normal Wattage is around 10-11. Why did SVW suggest 32W?). Another atomizer, an RDA (hadaly), wearing same wire (but is read at 0.68), was also fired at 32W. Didn't get a burnt hit. Funny thing is that I put a heatsink (2nd test) on the hadaly, and while it still reads at 0.68, it now fires at 30W. Go figure.

For SVW tests, didn't matter whether I chose VWh, VWn or VWs. Still got the same suggested vattage.

Some ideas:
1) A monitoring software. If arcticfox can do it, so can you. If anything, it will help troubleshoot issues as users can provide screenshots of the output. Techs can only test some scenarios, but the true testers are your user base.
2) skins for puff screen. One may want W displayed and another puff time/counter

PS: I don't think tc will ever work properly given it reads resistances so much higher. At least not STC.

im using gen with latest firmware v1.3 and Kylin M with ss316 mesh coils. It worked in the first place but now the gen doesn’t recognize the mesh (smart tc switches automatically to pulse mode). After a lot of trial and error smart tc works and it directly burns my coil into half because of high power.

Please vaporesso, fix the TC mode because it’s a very nice mod and with a working tc mod it would be the perfect mod.

i don’t like the smart tc Mode, it would be fine if the DIY mode for tc worked only.

please use Kylin M with ss316 mesh to test the tc mode.

Smart tc is not TC.Why not use only the DIY TC mode.Smart TC works good for some coils ,for some not.Anyway it cant burn your coil if you start at lower and save temperature.Dont use it and pushing the max temperature at first,just start with lower one and go up.

I am using the DIY tc mode and starting at low Temperatur and wattage nevertheless it burns. The tc mode in all isn’t working properly, it’s broken no matter what your adjustments are.

so the only way to use the gen is Pulse mode or normal wattage.

That is strange.I am 1.3 also and working for me.Have you tried to reflash the firmware,or tried the tank on another mod?May be the problem occurs on some batch of the Axon chip and others works fine.May be that is why not all owners of the mod report TC not working.Too bad our friends at Vaporesso have bigger problems now and i hope everything to be fine soon.

So sorry for your trouble and sorry for late reply. Can you let us know more details when it burns the coil，the temperature and the TCR? We already reported different feedback to our engineers and this time will notice that tank and coil to be tested. Since everything will be a little dragged back because of the coronavirus, we will try our best to get back very soon, thank you again

So far I have bought 5 different mods, attempting to get DNA performance on a cheaper mod. My 1st is grounded to the body. Others got press-fit 510s. Another died on me right after warranty expired. GEN looked promising given the detail on the 510. But it wasn't ready for tc.

Worst of it is that on my side of the world, mods costs twice as much as if I had bought them in the states.

Next buy will be a DNA itself. Or a diy 3d printed DNA / YiHi.

If you want a proper functioning TC, then either pick up a DNA mod or put Arctic Fox firmware on any of the supported mods from the Joyetech/Wismec/Eleaf holy trinity.

I'd love to have an uncrippled Omni 4.0 firmware for the Delta X squonker, but that will never happen...
