Mines from the first batch, and my button is starting to wear out alrdy. Dark discoloration and scruffs.

On a related note, huge rDNA fan here, but objectively I can't be the only one who's a little. Bewildered. By some of the decisions VS made with regards to the value of the mod. A proper stainless steel button (instead of a silly chrome plated one) would add what? 1 dollar to the cost at most? Same goes for the 510 connection. Probably a couple bucks at most.

Silly corners to cut tbh

So the only cons I've found about the rDNA40:
1.) potential juice leakage from channels - which can be fixed with tape, etc.
2.) minor rattling sounds from +/- buttons - which can be made 'quieter' due to shark skin.
3.) easy wear and tear on power button. - solution?

But I want one with Justin Bieber on it... lol.
I don't know you should be the guinea pig and let us know if it works! ;)

Will do, when I get it. Justin Bieber is a little too masculine for my tastes, I'm thinking this one is pretty awesome:

#1 thicker paint now create a better seal... I've had a catastrophic leak and not one drop made it inside... 2. My buttons don't rattle at all hrmm

#1.) Thicker paint good to know! Thanks!
#2.) The rattle is hit or miss from what I've read. YMMV

That's like comparing a ego with a DNA40. 2 different things. In regards to driving the M3 has to be 100000000000000 times better than a ford F150. In regards to feeling like sitting on your sofa at home the F150 probably beats the M3.

I knew from the getgo there was something about you that I liked. Now that I know you own a M3 I figured out why. Good taste sir, good taste.

Have you been in a newer gen F150? I have the FX4 with just about every option and it's pretty damn nice. I've looked at american cars for over 15 yrs and the interior used to be horrible. Fisher Price buttons and terrible materials on all surfaces. I had a 4runner before but wanted a pick up for my motorcycles. It obviously doesn't have the handling like an M3 but I can take the truck anywhere, any time.

Get a skin buddy. I normally hate skins but the "shark skin" (available on the site for only $9.99 if you call now) is honestly the best skin I have ever seen. Isn't a dusk magnet, feels smooth and soft like a baby ...., and the best part about it is it keeps your shark like new. It's a pain to put on the skin but once it's on it ain't going anywhere. Best $10 I've ever spent.

The skin breaks in and gets much easier to take off/put on after about a week. The open button is so you can see the fire/charging light around the button. And the smell goes away after about 3 days

nickel is a pita to work with and it will probably take you a few builds to get it all right but once you are there you will love it. Just make sure you use the "new coil" feature correctly, don't build your coil on the device itself, and be patient. I almost lost it the first few days with the dna40. I was honestly about to throw that thing against a wall but that was mostly my German Temper kicking in lol.

It's really not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. You just need to be a bit more careful when building. The "New coil" option should only show up if the chip isn't sure what coil you put on the device. It won't ask every time and that's how it's supposed to work. The DNA 40 also reads the temp of the coil as well as ambient temp (inside the mod) for an hour and adjusts so you might see the ohms reading go up or down.

I had a Ni200 coil ready to go in a KFL+ before I got my rDNA 40. It was awesome. 2nd build on another KFL+ wasn't so good and had to rebuild it.

Another case of people freaking out over minor (non?) issues they read online somewhere.

Thanks for the clarification. I always forget the whole "business days" vs "regular days" when approximating into weeks.
No really. I do.

The 15 days on the site is 15 BUSINESS DAYS. 3 weeks.

Usually, they ship out within a few days. With the holiday sales, they might be behind by a few days though.

Just want to have all angles covered with no silly surprises!
Gotta go with ktm on this...i put pics of my electrical tape weather seal thingy, but its really not neaded, the new finish is more of a powder coat, dont think thats what it is; but ut almost puffs on thr edges and seals the perimeter. My first run dna40 doesnt have that finish, the second run ones do. The finish does completely seal the seams, Im not sure why they changed it but I'm glad they did.
2 of mine have the button rattle, my solution is not to hold it to my ear and shake it.
The button wear, well, im looking at it now and yeah a little wear but much ado about nothing. My provari has a rubber button that's funky looking and the board rattles. I'll take button wear any day.

Patient: Doc, it hurts when I move like this...
Doc: Stop moving like that

I haven't had mine that long (a little over a week?) but not even a hint of wear on my button. I go thru about 1.5 batteries every day on it vaping at 16w-18w (a LOT of vaping).

According to the tracking, the rDNA 40 I ordered on Monday will be here Friday!

Super excited! :vapor:

My rDNA 40 kit (with Russian 91% and black sharkskin) arrived yesterday evening. It was ordered during the Cyber Monday sale!

So far all I've been able to put on it is a Kanger Aerotank 2 (the Russian will be my first rebuildable).

Initial Impressions:
- This thing is much smaller than I realized. I'm not sure why, but I pictured it being much larger. And smaller is a good thing!
- Very solid in hand. For being small, it's got some heft.
- Coming off a Spinner battery is like night and day. Vapor is immediate and dialing in the wattage for flavor is much nicer.
- Also, coming off a spinner, I realize how inconsistent the spinner battery was. With the VS, all hits taste exactly the same.

I will say, I would not recommend the Clove ejuice that I got with it. I was hoping for something like a clove cigarette, with deep flavors and sweet notes. Not at all...

If you think the Aerotank is good, wait until you build that Russian :thumb:

I found that tobacco flavors aren't all that good for vaping (at least for me). I've been vaping strawberry and melon flavors with some coffee flavors in the mornings.

The only one showing wear is my first run, the finish is holding up great but the button that i hit all day every day has slight signs of wear, well its still has that great tactile feel. When the provari button started looking dark and funky someone asked if it still fires, i said yeah, then silence. Lol

I'm really looking forward to building the Russian. I don't have any supplies yet though, so unless I want to use what came with it, I'm going to have to wait until I order some :(

On that note, does anyone know what comes with the Russian as far as Kanthal wire gauge, etc?

Thanks for the pictures btw.
Well to each his own. Nobody is freaking out over anything..
But if i'm shelling out a good chunk of cash for ANYTHING that I purchase..
I will question EVERYTHING- even if they are just minor discrepancies. Sorry that you and KTM don't feel that way.
I am sure there are a buttloads of people (including me) that ordered this thing on Cyber Monday that were not aware of these "minor (non?) issues."
