So my faithful rDNA30 finally stopped working yesterday. Fire button stuck on. The button feels like its still clicking but the blue ring stays lit and its trying to continuously fire. Hoping its something easy to fix so decided to ship it back to VS to try out their Diagnostic service.

I was a bit upset at first - I also have 2 rDNA40s, and don't want their buttons crapping out in another few months. But then again I have been using this one daily since September, and one of the reasons I like Sharks is because of the availability of repair services, so we'll see what they make of it.
I wish VS would have the option on their rDNA40 skins to have the button covered like they do for the DNA30 skins. It may not prevent it wearing out eventually, but it would at least keep the dirt out and protect the finish.

I definitely can get behind that for sure as I thought the same thing. Especially keeping out any rogue ejuice attempting to get inside.

I think they leave it open because the button led shows charge state (red or green) while charging. My DNA30 and DNA40 have charging led's next to the usb port and both skins have closed buttons.
Forgot about that, I rarely charge mine with the USB. Would be nice if they gave an option though.

How is it a rumor? It happens in TP mode. PBusardo showed graphs in his review.

It would not be the first time PB made an error or mis-stated,

If you have/own the device, AND, you hear "rattlesnaking" I will not argue with you. Otherwise, I treat such comment as (unfounded) rumor. No offense intended.

I should add, I'm no fanboy, one way or another.

He mentions it at the begining of this video and then at 5m 6s he said you can absolutely hear it.

The only reason I found out about it was because I was still interested in getting one and came across this while doing some research on it.

A little while back, in the other thread, I thought I heard you say you were interested in getting a VF or SX. I have one of each (and 2 rDNA 40's). I could be very happy with the VF on one hand and the SX in the other. Sometimes I do.

Early in the M Class release I, very conservatively, said other chip/mod makers have their work cut out for them.

Just installed the SX update. I could, now, easily double down on that preliminary statement. The correct posture is, as I said then, to light a fire at the feet and backside of the "competition".

Woot, my rDNA came back to me today and happy as can be. @RandyF don't know if you still care or not had a note saying they had to replace the PCB board. I'll test it again to see if it still has the same issue at some point but until then I need to re-enjoy this mod all over again. Then, even if your correct or not, it will just have to come down to taking the battery out every time I don't use it. I know I should anyways and not use the on board charging to practice safe charging. But still happy to have it back nonetheless .

I was very interested since they're both very popular here. I already have a few DNA40 devices but the battery life of the VF interested me but not enough to spend $300 on it. And I'm not that crazy about a flask form factor. I do like the top mounted display. The SX was a different chipset altogether but after watching a few reviews, I decided against it. It's bigger than most of my DNA40 mods. I really like the auto display orientation. Some of the biggest negatives of the SX line (for me) was it was a chinese chipset and forced market pricing.

well with a dodgy kayfun build or whatever at 50J im not surprised he hears something. that is a poor review really!

What makes you think his builds are "dodgy"? He's using a few different atomizers. His charts clearly show PWM (or PFM). I thought this was one of the better video reviews of the SX.

To be helpful rather than antagonistic:

Yes, the battery life on the VF is a BIG selling point, as is the form factor. It sits VERY comfortably in my RIGHT hand, not so much in my left.

My problem with the VF is a problem generally with the DNA 40. It will randomly go into "V" mode requiring that I hit the fire button to pop it back to "F" mode. That, my friend is annoying as all get out. Some wiseguy will say "it's the 510" that needs to be tightened. I know that and am so tired of having to adjust the 510. I know I shouldn't make such a big deal of that but it is a PITazz. My atty setup is always PERFECT.

No such trouble with the SX. And, for my hand, it is a very comfortable fit, in either hand.

Call me a two-fisted vaper. :thumb:
