Very interesting. I wonder if this is just the new pricing level in response to Hana or whether something new is coming sooner than we thought. Exciting times.

To be helpful rather than antagonistic:

Yes, the battery life on the VF is a BIG selling point, as is the form factor. It sits VERY comfortably in my RIGHT hand, not so much in my left.

My problem with the VF is a problem generally with the dna 40. It will randomly go into "V" mode requiring that I hit the fire button to pop it back to "F" mode. That, my friend is annoying as all get out. Some wiseguy will say "it's the 510" that needs to be tightened. I know that and am so tired of having to adjust the 510. I know I shouldn't make such a big deal of that but it is a PITazz. My atty setup is always PERFECT.

No such trouble with the SX. And, for my hand, it is a very comfortable fit, in either hand.

Call me a two-fisted vaper. :thumb:
Glad you like your other devices. I've passed on the flask and sxmini and probably will continue to do so. They don't really offer anything I want.

For me the sharks combination of small size, multiple charging options, and ease of use still have not been beaten. I have 3 already but I may buy another at the new price and definitely if they put the new Evolv chip in one down the line.

The DNA40 I got a few weeks ago has the latest large screen version with atty lock. At the new pricing, I'm really tempted to get another rDNA40.

Anyone having "check atomizer" problem? Mine constantly, says that and if I am using nickel it keeps asking "new coil or same" Sometimes when I charge mine shows, yellow, green, and red light. Here is a vid,

Three comments:

1. If you are using nickel you should not see the "V" that shows on you screen. You should see an "F" indicating you are in temperature mode.
2. Your resistance of 0.30 (shown on the screen) is high for TC mode. It is within spec but still high. Don't believe a pre-made STM coil is available at that resistance, though I could be wrong.
3. The STM, according to reports (I don't own any), is notorious for not making good 510 contact without a fix -- has a floating pin? Search the forum for that fix or await someone with actual experience with the STM to jump in (here).

This is upsetting as I purchased an rDNA40 a few weeks ago at $189.99. Oh well I guess.
I bet, but unfortunately thats the nature of the beast (for which your painfully reminded). I kinda feel for those guys in the classifieds who were/are attempting to sell used/unused rDNA for $130+ as now it has impacted resale value as well. I was lucky enough to snatch up one in the scratch and dent section early April, for the same price as a brand new one.

I bought mine at full retail a week before black friday where it dropped $40. When I received it, I forgot about it and enjoyed the mod. I'm actually vaping on it this morning :vapor:

Such is life...the early adopter nearly always gets screwed on price later. I've come to terms with that fact for the most part, but it does smart for a few seconds when I discover that I could have saved some $. I have a library of ebooks that I have invested more than $20K in over the past ten years and I regularly find that books I've paid hundreds of dollars for are discounted more than 50% off of what I paid originally. Does it suck? Absolutely. Do I lose sleep over it? Not one bit.

I feel your pain. I ordered mine two weeks ago and it arrived on the same day that their Memorial Weekend sale started.

It didn't really bother me because it's such a great mod. My VS DNA40 and rDNA40 are my 2 favorite mods. A distant 3rd and 4th are my Hana mini clone w/lg screen I built myself and Hana V4 I got about the same time as the DNA40.

Yeah, after two weeks I'm definitely a huge fan. Currently debating between getting another rDNA40 or springing for a VF.

The money pit continues to get deeper... ;)

If you want a more portable device, check out the DNA40. Vaporshark is coming out with a Vapor Flask in the coming weeks for under $200.

Good tip on the forthcoming Vapor Flask! I was planning on getting one as a desktop/at home device. The rDNA40 is already perfect for me as a portable but I've gotta admit those DNA40s are really tempting.

I have been using my derringer rda from my other mod, put it on my rDNA and same thing happens. "Check atomizer" error and it's a kanthal build.

Try screwing out a 510 pin a bit (if that's adjustable on derringer).
He is unfortunately having the same issue on any atty he puts on it. My :2c: is maybe the 510 connection on the device itself. Does your spring-loaded connection still move up and down if you press it? Or maybe open the internals and take look inside in case something was loose.
