i rinse it before every fill with warm water...take it all apart and cup each piece in my hand under the faucet so i don't lose any o rings down the drain....Then about once a month i will let it soak overnite in vodka...I just got it not that long ago so haven't done the vodka thing yet...maybe not necessary...opinions are appreciated
1. Get an el cheapo "screen" to cover your drain. Trust me. You will thank me later
2. I clean ALL my delivry devices with Wallgreens house brand denture cleaner. Designed to clean rubber, metal, and plastic. Cheap and in a packet so it's easy to handle. Works like a charm like this:
Install screen over the drain
Break down
Hot water bath of all components
Plop plop into the plastic tupper ware with a tablet of denture cleaner
Fill this container with hot water
Let it sit for say 20 minutes until the water reaches room temp
Drain container almost empty
Final Wash with hot water
Let dry or compressed air to dry if you are in a hurry
---> ALL new delivry devices should be cleaned. Machine oil smell is not that unusual. Does a great job on wicks/heads for devices like a PT2, iClear, T2, etc and Eko Wool along with the normal rba or rda crowd. Dry burn the coil if appropriate.
Assembly OCD style: I lube all the orings and threads with 50/50 NIC base or you could use juice before you assemble.
