Newport, Hope you get it soon... That is frustrating to say the least.. They surely need someone else in that shipping dept sending orders out..

Thanks. I think their shipping is probably fine. I think they probably do need to hire people to return/answer all customer calls and emails. However, i don't think that aspect of the company would be overtaxed if not for the shortage of product. I think their real issues are production related. Something is holding up that end. Whether it is a specific part in their build, clearing customs, etc. It is understandable to be back ordered on a successful product. It is the line employees and management saying they have no clue when they will have more of the product with customers in a protracted limbo that is unusual.

I;m using mt HTC charger that came with my phone. I do have a multimeter but from the tip to where should I check? The base of the the usb maybe?

I vape my nautilus Mini w/stock DT while charging the rDNA & I haven't noticed any shocking of the lips, that doesn't seem right at ALL! I use the stock micro usb charge cable that came with the rDNA though. If your using your HTC phone charger that plugs into the wall then you better be SURE its the correct voltage, mAh, amp & polarity or it can ruin your device. Do a quick test using the stock charge cable that came with your rDNA, plug it into a USB port on your PC & then into your rDNA & see if you still get shocked. If you don't then the phone charger is probably the culprit & I would HIGHLY suggest you stop using it.

eVolve is the likely culprit regarding product supply. eVolve has had problems keeping up with demand for a while now. If VS didn't order enough boards to fulfill their orders, then they would have a hard time getting more right away from eVolve. For those of us that are lucky enough to have ours, if you open up the electronics cover you'll see how tight everything goes together. My point is that once they are assembled it wouldn't be all that easy to remove the boards and put them into a black case, even if they had them. For this new product release and SharkWeek they ordered X number of DNA30 boards and then had Y number of black and gunmetal shells made and then assembled them. If black sold out then they may not have enough shells or boards to build more. But could still have gunmetal left to be sold. Obviously this could have happened differently and still caused the problem. I have also heard that customers agree that they won't blame eVolve to their customers for lack of supply. Even if they don't have enough boards.

Now to your problem Newport. If all of the orders for black ones have the shipping slips printed along with their order forms, waiting for finished product. Now they are not kept in the time ordered because they thought they will just fill them all, but didn't have enough product. Some would get theirs while others that had ordered sooner didn't. Now they have gunmetal but no black. How do they explain this to the customers. It gets complicated, and hard to explain to customers waiting.

Didn't mean for this post to be this long... LOL

Did as you suggested and the shock is reduced. The computer usb only puts out 500mah where the HTC charger is rated at 1amp (1000mah). The shock I get is very small and feels like a slight tingle. And only from the edge of the drip tip hole. I have now learned to not let the edge rub against my lip or tongue and I'm fine.

So I need to switch my order to gun metal to get any movement on my order? I'm approaching 2 weeks and nothing has happened. I can't believe all you that ordered after me got yours already. That's bs.

Honestly, the best bet is to call them. I understand your frustration. People that ordered after me received their Black RDNAs. They may be out of gunmetal now, or have one or the other in a new shipment. They are the only ones that could answer that.

Already tried. They don't answer the phone. Now I'm offshore and can't call.

Interesting,I thought a 500mah phone charger was o.k. and 800mah like an ipad charger was max. Someone else I am sure can give a better answer, but 1000 mah charging may be over the design.

I don't know if they took Labor Day off. Their store shop managers will say they can't answer corporate questions, and corporate may be closed until Tuesday. Guess you could try your luck on Monday.

I get a very small shock from both the computer and the HTC charger. The computer is a bit smaller. An apple charger is rated at 2amps I believe which is why an iphone charges so fast. The charge regulator in the rDNA is rated at 800mah. So charging from your computer will be slower than a wall charger.

I used to intentionally go on long range fishing trips out of San Diego to be offshore and out of cell range. Otherwise, the treatment centers I ran medical depts for would constantly call needing stuff. It was the only way to get a break. They could reach me by sat phone from the bridge, but didn't want the bill. :)

Haha, good plan! I'm a commercial diver so I stay gone for weeks.

After waiting past different promised shipping times and calling yet again. Yes, that was their statement to me, but others that ordered after me have received black. So, my decision was based on untrue statements from them. Maybe not intentional deceit on their part, but something doesn't add up. Honestly, kind of over the whole thing. I ordered on 8/19.

I'm soooooo sorry!! :( All I can say is wow!! VS is going to have to get their act together with CS! I love mine but really makes me question if I will do business with them again

The problem with evolv is only going to get worse now that they have teamed up with Innokin on the SVD 2. I did see in a video that they are opening up another facility.

I saw that video too. I want John to have mind blowing success. Trying to order all the machines and modify robotic arms, etc. takes time. I worked for a factory when I was younger doing custom plastic injection molding for Sony,Newell fishing reels, etc, etc. there was a whole team of expensive die makers constantly working. I hope they can get set up quickly for all this expansion.
