Mine came in as well. Decided to put the Rose V2 in it, as I've never had any problems with leaking with that one. I just put a random number of wraps around a 3mm coil, and it came out at .13ohms. Heated the coil to 550F and pinched with ceramic tweezers, and it looked pretty good. The biggest problem was getting the cotton in, as the coil easy got deformed. Next time I might take the coil out before I thread it, because it isn't that much room on the Rose.

I found that wicking from both ends of the coil greatly reduced the process causing coil deformity. Cut the wick in half lengthwise and twist the ends of both pieces so it can be easily threaded. Then insert the pointy end of each piece in opposite ends of the coil. Very gently pull the wicking through simultaneously with equal amounts of pressure for both pieces. Tip courtesy of a Heespharm post in one of the dna 40 threads.

Quick question. I just ordered a VS 40 and am not sure what size Ni200 to get (30 gauge, 28 gauge?) I consistently use my Svoemesto Kayfun Lite v2+, but am also planning on getting an RDA and building it with dual coils just to play around with. Which gauge would be best? And does VS include any Ni200 with purchase, or should I order it before it gets here?

Most people are using either 28 or 30 gauge so both sizes are worth trying. If you want to play around with twisted wire you might want to pick up some 32 and/or even 34 gauge. Mamu posted a photo of her genny build using twisted 34 gauge.

VS doesn't include any free wire with the rDNA40. They sell some separately but you can get it cheaper at Lightning Vapes.

So... Thoughts on leaving the rDNA on the qi charger overnight? Worried because of how warm it's gotten... But I'm thinking once the battery is full it wouldn't keep charging per se?

Mine shuts off when it completes charging. However, overnight charging isn't particularly safe. Some people have strategies for coping with a battery that might violently vent when charging unattended but I'm not brave enough to do that. An 18650 going south can be pretty ugly.

I have been testing using little strips of adhesive vinyl on mine. The stickum stuff doesn't stick all that well. Next step is to test a couple of glues for a more permanent fix.

Perhaps if enough people ask nicely VS might be persuaded to alter their design to something sensible.

So people are really liking this device? I have zero interest in wireless charging and would prefer to just be able to swap batteries when I need to. Is this mod conducive for that purpose or is the door too loose with just the magnet and/or the screws not gonna hold up over time? I wish there were no screws for the door and there was something like clips, anything where you don't need a tool and the door would still stay on extra secure like.

Might try and purchase one of these if people think they're pretty decent. I only use Kayfun's but the temp control and non-burning wick has me completely sold. Just love that someone has finally come up with a real advancement in vaping, as I see it.

Anyway, what about some black electrical tape? Probably not, that stuff has a tendancy to not stick super well.

Can't speak for everyone else, but I absolutely love this fella. It's tiny, weighs quite a bit but feels really solid.

The battery panel is held very securely by magnets only. Any screws you see are to hold the rest of the enclosure together. I don't see any issue with it. Swapping batteries is a breeze if you have the rdna40 silicon case. (I'm using the rdna30 skin and its a mighty pain to just take off and put it on)

Well thanks for that response. I have no need for a skin because I'm pretty .... about keeping my stuff in really good shape and being able to swap batts is a must for me. I come from using just mechs really so it's part of the routine. I think you may have sold me good sir. I've read about some nighmarish experiences with this company but I might just take a shot anyhow.

Does it matter? You only see it when you change atomizers.

So I opened my rDNA tonight and it has been flawless so far. Granted, it's only been 35 minutes lol, but it's working great. I switched from a kayfun with nickel and then to an aerotank v2 and then back to the kayfun and it registered correctly everytime. Here's to hoping it stays that way!! This is so much smaller than I expected!! The size of the rDNA is what I pictured the DNA to be. Crazy
