Possible bad form to reply to my own post but I ran into an issue. Built a .26 NI200 coil on 28 guage and all was good for a bit. 420f and all was good. I started to notice the vapor would get warmer then normal and when I checked, it had switched itself into Voltage mode. Only way to get Temperature back was to pop the battery and reset it. It would hold on Temp for a bit and then right back to Volts. I took it in to Mountain Oaks Vapor in Oviedo (GREAT bunch of guys there) and they swapped it out agreeing it was an issue. Got the new one and it did it almost immediately! They went ahead and pulled them all from the case and refunded my money, so now I am without a temp mod.
I guess I will wait to get one when the bugs are worked out....

Sounds like that's just a connection issue.
Evolve really needs to put out some FAQs...would prevent a lot of returned units.

Hrmm...It was a contact coil but it was a very good strong connection. I was building on a Lemo and I had it centered in the holes. And I was thinking the same thing so I went it and made sure everything was tight. Well hell. I knew I should have came here first....
Oh, and it was the Vaporshark rDNA40.

    Bad build.

Is anyone else bothered by the fact that the battery level indicator on these is useless???? Just wondering

The battery level indicator goes by the voltage of the battery. If the voltage sags, it shows a lower level. This is how all battery meters are set, not just DNAxx boards. The problem is that these are high drain devices so there's more voltage sag than on a laptop or cell phone. It's not like there's anything physical you can measure like gasoline. I wouldn't say it's useless. It will give you a pretty good idea of how much power you have left. If it fluctuates that much, maybe try a different battery.

Well, I can speak to Lemo + VS rDNA problems since I've had some over the past couple of days. (I'm fairly certain the coil is spaced, not contact.)

In any case, I was very surprised to find that 510 on the Lemo is "adjustable". I loosened it a tad and the F/V's issue disappeared.

Don't want to start a wild speculation detour but I am beginning to wonder about the VS spring loaded 510, cleaning it as we speak,

    Just typical USPS.
I'm waiting for a pkg. from Coppell TX. No scan of it leaving TX, but suddenly showed up in Jacksonville FL, after a week in TX.

I opened a ticket with USPS (after a 30-40 minute wait on the phone). USPS Rep was really nice. She said someone will be calling me about it once they investigate. I tried not to laugh but we all know what that means (lol). She also said "it might still be in transit even though it's received no scans," confirming what you've said here. Takehome message to all of you VS orderers out there: for the love of God, consider paying more for upgraded shipping. After the 30 day wait with VS the last thing you're going to want is a +10 day wait from the US Postal Service.

I'd wonder more about the $35 atty than I would the $200 mod. just sayin

True, but it happens with more than the "$ 35 atty". And, the fix is identical.

Experience building Ni200 coils is still fairly new and many people make mistakes and think building a coil similar to kanthal should work the same. Brandon from Evolv stated a number of times that contact coils don't work well. If you insist on contact coils, make sure ALL the coils are touching. And then maybe it will work right. The problem is that while you may think your contact coil is perfect, it can, and most likely will, move and cause issues. Spaced coils is the recommended coils to use with TP.

rDNA 40 and XPV have been the most reliable DNA 40 mods because they have solid connections, grounds in particular.

Apparently you did not notice, "(I am fairly certain the coil is spaced, not contact)" in my post. Huh?

So..... When my battery is at 3.6 volts.... And the battery indicator shows full? I vaped on it for 14 hours and the battery level never showed anything other than full.
Like others I have read about..l if I take the battery out and put it back in.... It will show the correct level..... However once I hit the fire button, the indicator jumps back up to full.

    15-19 watts

ah ok... I was going to say that my batt. gauge on my VF(not VS) doesn't really go down if I am vaping at "low watts" when using my nautilus(9-12w).
sounds like the batt. gauge isn't working correctly.

maybe try a dripper at 40w and see if that gets the batt. gauge "working".(not that it helps you @ 15-19w)
