It vapes terribly,

Not sure what I have done wrong but it is rock solid stable at 0.14 ohms which I assume is ok but holding the fire button without vaping it struggles to get up to 200 deg ???

Although the atti and top of the mod are really hot.

Something not rite so back to single coils I guess.

Wow...that's not good...to me that build looks like it would a fantastic vape.

So, I've had my vaporshark 40 for a couple weeks now, it's been a love hate relationship. Does it work? Oh yeah! Wireless charging? yep. How well does it work? Meh... either with an RTA, or prebuilt like the Nauti, it'll fire just fine for a while, then stop and ask if it's a new coil, without ever taking the atty off. Also will switch to temp control with a kanthal build or Nauti, and for some reason burns the wick for no reason at all.... anyone else have these issues? Am I doing something wrong? Or do I need to contact VS about this issue???

You need to be more specific. Kinda like saying "the internet is broken" when you can't browse a website.

A lot of my issues have been due to loose connections, particularly with the center pin of the 510 connector. Don't get me wrong, it works well, but some of my toppers needed some work to get them to work with it. Specifically, my Lemo and my Aerotank both had somewhat short center pins that would cause intermittent connections.

I'm running a kanthal build on the rDNA in my KFL and it's running in TP mode for a second every time I fire it, even with TP turned off. Last night I only remember it doing that the first time firing it after unlocking or changing the atty, it's possible that my memory is off but I don't think it is.

Does anyone know which it's supposed to be doing? It would be nice if there was better documentation for the DNA 40.

Edit: Doh! Just realized that it's not running in TP mode but it is taking a second to hit full wattage which I don't think it was doing last night.

What wattage do you have it set to? I'm usually >30 watts for a build in that ohm range.

I had to do the same, on my Squape R I had to adjust the center pin out a lot. Before that I had all sorts of weirdness with the temp control reading 200F and then 1000F, and temp control not working period. It seems to be working correctly now.

My only complaint is the battery only lasted me about 9 hours today on a full charge.

Good to hear I'm not alone. I love the VS, but really wish the spring loaded center pin was about 1mm higher up in he connector.

But once it's making good connections, it really is fantastic!

Vapor Shark gave the guys that ordered on Cyber Monday a hell of a deal. Not only was it 20% off on Cyber Monday they gave another $15 credit for the delay while they redesigned the pv with added features. With all the discounts, battery, and free juice with free shipping, I don't think I could have built myself at that price. I ordered as a gift, but after getting a dud from hana and a delay at VS, I'm a happy Vapor Shark vaper.

sorry guys I'm new and trying to get a rDNA 40 mod. I watched few reviews on youtube and have one question, do I have to use nickle wire to use any DNA 40 mods? because I'm using Aerotank Mega, can I use it on rDNA 40W?

Or if you don't want to... ah, roll your own coils, you can use these: KANGERTECH Temperature Sensing Coils.

Interesting reading this. Earlier I was thinking this same thing & wondering if any of the pre-order buyers had buyers remorse?
Initially I had jumped on the pre-order bandwagon but then canceled. I'm glad I did!

So I am one of the CM buyers who still hasn't received it (though it apparently shipped 1/6)

I am aware of the upgrades, but where have you got the info on a $15 credit? I received NO info on that.

thanks

You should have received an email announcing the delay, at the bottom there was a code for a "free bottle of juice" that's really a $15 off code.

Reading through some of the recent posts, it is reminiscent of the discussions those of us had who got the first batch. I posted a thread, linked in my signature, of some of the important facts learned from some of the early users. If you haven't stumbled across it yet, you may want to take a look at it. Also, for those with a Lemo, you may want to look at this method for dropping that 510 pin and keeping a snug fit.

Thanks! There's some good info in there, I knew most of it but had forgotten a few things. I'll try putting a piece of kanthal in the post holes and use 28g instead of twisted 30g so I have a better idea what my resistance should be, I was right about where steam engine said I should be(.14 ohms, 10 wraps on 6/32, 1.2 mm twist pitch) but I imagine there's more variance with twisted wire.

I received my email with the code at the bottom on December 12. Check for an email from them around that date; given the nature of the code I believe they are unique to each customer. I just used mine tonight so it is still valid.
