I recommend not ordering from this terrible company who doesn't even accept returns or exchanges. Defective DNA40 that doesn't charge batteries after a 2 month wait now they want me to wait again while I send it in to be repaired. Terrible company and terrible customer service never ordering from them again.

looks like the LG battery they sent me was just defective it actually made me my vaporshark get pretty hot trying to charge it take battery out and almost too hot to hold it

How long are they asking you to wait while it's repaired (or in this case, while they replace the battery)? From what people have posted, it appears that they do try hard to warranty the product...

I think that is how dna boards do it I believe. The battery meter only updates when you fire it. Mine showed empty after 2 hours charging. After attaching an atomizer and firing it, it went straight to full.

Is everyone experiencing this? Myself and several friends of mine aren't getting the battery meter to work at all, even if we look at it while the unit is firing. Our battery icon only has two types of graphics we've ever seen on it (even while taking a drag) – fully charged icon, or completely dead icon (which is when the unit flashes "weak battery"). We've never, ever, seen the meter show anything but those two states.

So i just purchased a rDNA40 with a black shark skin. I am going to guess its going to take a month to get to me. In the meantime, could someone be so kind to post some images of the rdna40 with a black shark skin with a dripper attached to give me some idea how it will look like? I will be using mine with a marquis dripper.

Many thanks for doing so.

Also, am I correct to believe that all vaporsharks that ship out from here on out are the new version with bigger screen and the different more rubbery finish? I would hate to be receiving the older revision

If it's any consolation I've read that turn around time is pretty quick.

Have you tried calling & talking to someone or opt for email?

I must say it does move rather quick from full to empty. Mine will go all day without moving at all. Then the next day I notice it drops over the course or 4 or 5 hours from full to empty.

The only time my DNA 40s gives an accurate reading of the battery is right after I wake them up. As soon as I fire them, though, the meters show a full or nearly full charge, giving me some projected forecast of future wattage predictions nonsense.

I've just learn't to have 1-2 spare batteries around. But what I dislike is that there's no memory, so it has to do some refining before I can use it again.
So there sure are some areas of improvement to be done. But then again, other then those things, this device really does perform beautifully, and I still haven't used my other mods yet since I got it. This combined with the lemo and temperature control/protect is just silly simple. And performs so alike from coil to coil.

The metering happens in real time only when the device is firing. If you're using a nickel coil and temp. control, you will notice that the meter will behave a bit erratically.
Here is why, it is giving you a forecast of remaining battery life based on the last wattage level the device was outputting. Let's say you have a ni200 coil set at 420degrees and 35 watts.
At the beginning of the draw you will likely be close to 35 watts but as the coil comes to temp the wattage will be reduced to let's say 6 watts.
When you let off the fire button the last wattage output was 6 watts and the battery meter is reflecting remaining battery life forecast of 6 watts not the 35 watt set point.

Thanks,
Brandon Ward
Evolv, Inc.

I hope this is okay to post.

This is a response I received from Brandon at Evolv.

My usual queue to charge the battery is when the meter first changes. At that point, I'm usually at 3.6V with my other devices (DNA 30/SX330) the battery meter is usually at 25% at that point.

I asked earlier in the thread and according to the PBusardo video, Brandon states the chip will shut down when it reaches the 2.75V mark which I don't want to get anywhere near to.

battery meter in the vaporshark dna40 may as well not even be there its worthless

Only because {IMO} many people don't understand how it's supposed to work.
In essence it seems backwards.
In theory only Evolv understands it.
In practice it's confusing!

What many people are saying is even if they do exactly what Evolv tells them to do (which can be confusing), is how their battery meter STILL doesn't work for them. Whatsoever. At All. That's a MAJOR design flaw IMO.

The entire point of a battery meter is to see how much energy your battery has left. If it doesn't work, and you always have to carry around an extra battery with you, I would have been better off buying a 2x 18650 device like the flask or the Hana....I would have just never believed that such a highly regarded chip manufacturer would have slacked at something as simple as a working battery meter.

If it makes you feel better, the LG battery is designed to discharge to 2.5V according to spec sheet.

For those that are still waiting on shipment of their devices. Got an email reply from VS today stating that they have enough devices on hand to fill all orders currently place, so it appears it's down to just processing each shipment. I was told to expect a shipping notification w/ tracking in 3 days or less for my order 67352 placed 12/18.

Oh, and they said their backlog is about 1200 orders FWIW.

What part about a warrantee on a new item scares you might I ask??

well first off, under vaporsharks terms and conditions page. They say that all sales are final. Meaning that they do not give refunds. I dont know anyone else's experience but in the chance that mine is faulty, which seems extremely probable. I do not want to put myself in that position having to wait 2 months for a product and have it get here for me to find out its faulty with no way for me to exchange or refund.

Buying from a reputable reseller if something were to go wrong I know for a fact I can exchange hassle free and/or return for at least 30 days.

The 120 day warranty should still be honored regardless if I purchase direct through vaporshark or a different retailer. Their website says no such thing that would make me believe that they would force me to purchase direct through them for the 4 month warranty. I could be wrong however, so if anyone could enlighten me that would be stellar.

I thinks that's asking too much to be covered by buying from a third party... Once it leaves their hands they don't know what happened to them.... Seals can be faked so there's no guarantee it'll be exactly how they shipped it off to the third party... I think it's all pretty reasonable

That Rogue is SWEET - love the low profile. How do you like the cloud and flavor production in it?

It's insanely airy. Like. Full on lung inhale. The AFC kinda sucks in that you can close it off "fully" and it's still loose. The vapor production is insane though, and it's virtually leak proof. Crank up the wattage and flavor is good

This is at 30watts.
