Kiwi can go into more detail but from what I recall he had one issue after another which made him owning a flask not the pleasurable experience others were having.
Personally I think you stand a 50/50 chance of getting one that's flawless or jacked up. I've never had or used one- my opinion is merely based on all the reading I do here & other forums.
Oh where do I even begin hahahaha.
My first one came with scratched up buttons, and one of them stuck out significantly more than the other. My 510 area was scratched up. My USB port was so badly milled/drilled that the bevel ing was off, and it exposed so much of the USB card. Chip started glitching, and getting it replaced was a nightmare. Sent it in, got absolutely no communications. They kept telling me it was getting shipped back, but nope. Didn't happen. Asked for tracking when it finally did. Nope. Never gave it to me.
Next 2 were fine, chip wise. But across all 3 mods,
1) the threads are .......n ridiculous. Think of the worst possible threads from a fasttech clone, and it's 10 times worse. I wish I was exaggerating but trust me I'm not.
2) sheer inconsistency in manufacturing. My first mod could take ALL batteries. My second took sonys and LG HE2 exclusively. My third couldn't take any batteries at all until I sanded the wrapper down.
Lastly, this might be controversial but to hell with that.
1) manufacturer insisted that the uneven up and down buttons were by design. Except my 2nd and 3rd mods came back with perfectly aligned buttons. So does that mean I got 2 consecutive mods with flaws? Makes no sense to me considering their advert talks about specially made buttons to match the contours of the body.
2) the design for the USB port is stupid as hell. It's held by what I've been told a 3d printed scaffold. Problem is it VERY wobble, and when you try plug in the usb cable, you will get BOTH lateral both sideways and in wards. Here's the kicker. Initially when some ppl called them up and ask, they were told it's by design, and helps in battery venting. BS. the battery compartment is completely sealed from the USB port hole. Subsequently they stopped giving that answer, instead just saying that it was by design. Sorry, but if you look at the thousands of products out there, plus the fact that the USB port is the one part that is expected to experience the most cyclical stress.....
Well, they can claim that it's a intentional design all they want, but that doesn't make it not a poor design
And that's the end of my rant. I expect some flask owners to blast me buuuuut. Take my words for what it's worth (which tbh isn't much hahahahahahahah)
