Hi, my VS rDNA40 has suddenly started doing this when firing:
No matter what wattage it's set to, when you hold fire button it climbs up from 0W to 40W and back down again. I've tried it with various attys and it's doing the same thing on them all. The bottom left of the display is also showing 440F instead of the usual Volts reading. Has been working fine for weeks up until the problem started today. Any ideas?
Thanks

Hmm.....well if the mod is in Temp. Protect mode, then it will preheat the coils. Basically the dna 40 has a feature called Preheat, where it will momentarily dump all (or most) of the available power into the atty until the temp. is 100 degrees below your set temp. This serves to heat up the coils faster so that there's no "lag-time" when you go to take a hit.

You are seeing the temp. on the screen because the mod is in Temp. Protect (TP) mode. I assume you have a nickel build on the mod? If you're seeing TP on the screen but have a normal Kanthal build on the mod, then that's not normal. The mod should automatically switch between voltage and TP mode based on whether you have ni200 or Kanthal in your atty....
