Beats me. I guess it still warms up... We need someone to use low res wire like they use in some rebuildable atties and test it that way. I guess the best fix is for them to use some heat resistant (ceramic?) material in that bottom gasket...

For now, I'll just cough up the cash and get me a real Genesis style atty... :(

My easy fix on the battery connection, in real time. Read the comment for the exact measurement. Some should still stick up or draw will be too tight. They should have just fixed the tanks on the VS3. At least we would have been able to vape something while the nova was being worked on. I cant find any more innards for the VS3 now and that sucks monkey nuts. One step forward and 3 back id say.

I just took the plunge and ordered 3 ViVi's. I even made the super discount with this order. Dang I spend too much on this hobby/addiction. Still, wife and I are over $3K in the black after 2-1/2 years of vaping vs analogs. The perfect vape really is a journey not a destination.

i saw a vid once that was for wrapping a coil on an iatty or some such. the person took their coil wire (kanthal or nicrome i dont know wich lol) and measured out a length. they then took some wire like from the leads on a ce2 but without insulation. he held the ends of the 2 wires (res and lead wire) together and twisted it up like a bread tie and then folded the twisted part over and twisted it with the nonrestance lead wire so that it just made a thicker spot (and no solder lol). then he measured the resistance wire length to get the resistance he wanted then twisted another lead wire on the other end the same way. like this:
-------======--------------=====---------
..lead.....wrap......coil wire......wrap.....lead

then when he wrapped it around the wick he started where the wires come together so that all the coil wire was in the coil itself and left the 2 regular wires hanging out for the connection. this way the only part that CAN get hot is the coil itself.
i hope this makes enough sense to follow lol

I tried this with the coil and wick from a fluxo and it would not fire. I should have known, but the coating that covers the wire is preventing any connection from being made.

you can strip the insulation off. no reason it shouldn't work if the wires are bare lol

Yeah, I tried doing that and trashed the coil in the process...lol. I didn't want to rip apart another flux to try again. I will just wait till I order some more stuff from GV and get some new wire and wick and try to build my own coil.

oh i see. i would prolly try unwinding the original first so i just had a straight wire. then very carefully strip the leads. when wrapping the new coil wrap the entire center wire as the coil so only the regular wire hangs out. not sure how many wraps it will take might get kinda crowded in there

I did this, with removing the insulation. It did fire, but the kanthal lead on one side was too long, so it did burn the rubber seal again :( I couldn't fix it, the heating element lead was just way too long... and pushing it up is not an option.
Maybe someone else will have better success.
I'm waiting for the factory "fixed" heads. I get a headache after 5 min vaping on any of my heads, so the nova goes to the shelf, till it's usable. When that happens, i might get some more novas :)

I ordered one tank. I loved the ease of filling it for sure. Not one drop of juice leaked and it fit my eGo ( haven't gotten my ProVari yet...this week). But ...uch, the juice just tastes bad. I like the draw, lots of vapor, enough TH for me, but nothing I do helps this flavor. It tastes almost burnt, but that's not quite right. I can't describe it.
I'm gonna try trimming wicks the way I've seen posted earlier. Keeping my fingers crossed. It's just a nice tank and I want it to work.

OH
im afraid trimming the wicks wont make the foul taste go away. its either coated with primer(chinese tobacco i guess) or the coils are burning the silicone cap.

No, it's there's no primer we could find. This is what was found by en earlier poster and I have the same issue, and several others reported it. This is the most likely cause of the taste:

I guess i found out why does my heads taste like rubber... guess what, because it's burning rubber...
I just had to dissect one head, and it's really obvious where's the problem.
I'm really
