I read to page 24 and decided to post this question.

Has anybody tried taking the coil out of a Boge 2.0 carto, or an ikenvape 801 fusion, and using it as the coil with the included wicks for the vivi nova heads? Wondering if it can be done. My Nova seems to be held up in shipping. Been stuck in NY for last 3 days. Otherwise I would have tried it myself already.

finally put down my 4 phoenix XL's that i been rotating last 3 days (must say they are fantastic) so i took out one of my new Vivi's and right away notice it was nice and dry and didn't look as if it had what you all call primer in it. I read early that somebody was liking the 1.8 head @ 3.7 so i changed out heads and checked that the coil was glowing like it should and sure enough it was good.

I put it together on a KGO and filled with DIY 70/30 555 and to my surprise it worked as advertised, got about 1.5 mil through it and all is good.

Guess I'm just one of the lucky ones as i am still vaping 2 of the orig. C8's without any problems also.

I don't know :(

Still no luck with the ViVi. It still has a funky taste and strange draw (it's tight, but not really that tight, just feels so different and uncomfortable).

As an aside - since so many here compared it to the Stardust, I decided to try out one. I don't know... it has great flavor for me! The ViVi doesn't come close. Stardust - if I remember to tip it every few vapes or so, it puts out great vapor and, more importantly, excellent flavor!

Am I missing something?!

No, you are not missing anything. :)

Stardusts *do* have great flavor if you use them correctly - they are the best, IMO. ViVis had some problematic heads that some people got, and those lack flavor. They are doing a quick head upgrade, as far as I know, so we'll be able to buy new ones to replace the funky-ish ones.

Did you try all of your heads? You may have gotten just one not-quite-right one.

(There are just *so* many bad jokes in this: not quite right in the head, head transplant, head-case...)

I guess i found out why does my heads taste like rubber... guess what, because it's burning rubber...
I just had to dissect one head, and it's really obvious where's the problem.
I'm really

Yep. On the "funky" heads the lead wires heat up and singe the rubber plug - thus the burnt rubber taste. And you can tell if that's gonna happen by dry burning the coil first and seeing if it lights up normally, or if the lead wires glow first. I had one like that and one normal.

@ Viral,, That's a vertical coil, a bit different of a set up then a CE2, two different animals, the whole pkg of the internals is what makes a Cartomizer of any kind really work, the coil, wick, and airflow the whole internals all come into play and have to all be right and perform together to make magic happen :)

Thanks folks for all the informative info you have posted. Has anyone tried burning the wick with a lighter/torch prior to actually using one of these to see if that helps?

Sorry if this has already been mentioned. I've not even took mine out of the package yet. Waiting on you folks to come up with some scientific solution first.:)

all 3 of my heads are like that, unless i hammer in high voltage the wire under the coil glows but the coil itself doesnt. I'm sure badkolo and the good folks at gotvapes will take care of us so im just patiently waiting, besides, the phonixes are so damn good its not like im in a rush.

i think he just means to harvest the coil wire and reuse it. i would think you could and perhaps even without rewrapping it if your careful and can thread the wick through the middle lol

and thats what im saying devast, people are hoaning in and attacking the vivi over the head which is replaceable, im not hearing issue regarding anything else and thats a big achievement, the vivi rocks and all people want now are heads which is the main part of this whole equation to all work uniformly, im not going to sit here and pass blame any further even though i wasnt in charge of the heads, im dealing with this now so everyone who uses a vivi is happy, be warned that while some places might have heads for sale they are form the first batch and could have the same results some are experiencing, not to hurt anyone's sales but i need to inform you all because the new heads have not been shipped to anyone yet so i dont wont people saying they bought a head this week and they still had a muted flavor or weird taste.

i mentioned this before and ill do it agian, the vivi is not going anywhere, once the new heads arrive im sure everyone will be happy and then the vivi surprises start pouring in, you can do alot with the vivi if you just look at it closely and use your imagination, times will be rocking soon

I certainly hope you're right. I've been fortunate enough to not have any issues with the 2 heads I've tried so far (1.8 and 2.4), and if the issues others are seeing is being addressed, I think this will become a very popular product. One thing I'd like to see evolve is tank choices so users can have translucent colored tanks with or without measurement marking. If it becomes popular enough, maybe we'll even see popular tank makers offer options for the actual tank in etched glass and Pyrex.
