I was just about to ask about this... I know rubbing alcohol is toxic, so I ordinarily use Vodka. But I'm out. What if I rinse the stuff really really well afterwards, do you still think it's dangerous?

I use 99% Isopropyl Alcohol and as far as I'm concerned what doesn't evaporate will wash away in hot water. I wouldn't be concerned if I didn't wash it with the miniscule quantities that could possibly remain. We're talking at most a few parts per million, maybe billion and those are odds that don't bother me when compared to all the other contaminates in each and everyone of our environments whether breathing or eating.

Got my first Vivi today, 1st head - dead! 2nd head - DEAD, 3rd atty head - dead!!!! Then got out another one I purchased in same order - FINALLY, that one is working. Opened a ticket w/GotVapes re: the dead attys. hoping they'll replace them. The tank is great, I love it, vaping mint sweet tea from KBV, 70/30 mix, wicks just fine & lots of vapor.

It is so easy to clean them, I usually throw them in the ultrasonic every 2 tankfuls...

a jewelry cleaner? if so what do you put in it water or soap .that sounds like a good idea just dump it in and leave it oooppps sorry you answered it allready thx

Oy, Samsun, I'm sorry about that spider... I'd probably freak too. I don't mind regular spiders, I leave them be because they get rid of flying critters in the house.

They also get rid of a lot of little critters that we don't see.

Me too - 'cept in Florida nothing can be over 70% alcohol - even PGA is short of the mark here. I don't seem to have a problem using Isopropyl - and it's a darn site cheaper.

Probably not the heads....odds of all three being bad are pretty low. Try the heads in the base of the other one.

I'm with harleydiva on this one... I've now have 5 heads used in rotation without any issue and I've not seen a single instance of someone else reporting a bad/dead head...

Now I personally have screwed up once and didn't get one tightened down resulting in something like that... Another area to check is if you are using an extention/adapter that may not be getting good contact ( which may apply to the PV itself as well )

I still havent done my cracking test. I know I promised to and havent forgotten but I have no more cash right now to buy parts. I do have two metal tanks but I dont want to part with the one clear tank I have right now. As soon as GV starts selling just the plastic tanks by themselves, or I can afford a couple more 2.5's Ill get to crackin.... literally.

I got a juice mix that can crack this baby in ten minutes, and if that doesnt do it nothing will. Safe to vape... i think ... but atomic hell on plastic. I dont normally like to go all mythbusters on my gear but in this case itd be fun. I just gotta be able to afford it... lol.

Oh and if those cracks on the stardust are along the base on the bottom and look hairline in appearance its from expansion of the silicone seal at the bottom of the tank where the plastic and metal meet, not your ultrasonic cleaner.

Atomic menthol based flavors in mine for a week with no tube issues.

Well, learned something new about the vivi today. Two things, really:

1. If you are using a dark syrupy juice, it's definitely worthwhile to change the head in-between refills. It's real easy, after all. As it was, on my second fill of this really great dark RY4, it started tasting burnt and not wicking well. I opened it up, and saw the biggest, cruddiest black ball where my coil should have been. Yuck. I foresee much soaking and vibrating for this one.

2. Which brings me to the second point. It is quite possible to change heads "on the fly", as long as the level of the juice is below the line of attachment. I took off the hat, and used my fingernail as a screwdriver using the wick notches. Worked like a charm. Of course, one could use an actual screwdriver, too, but what's the fun in that?

Note to self: higher voltage vaping grows crud faster; and once you taste burning juice, that means the juice is actually burning and spoiling what's in the tank - the taste will never be the same again, durn it; what a waste. Duh.

Note to self #2: been having too much fun with those Twists and the iTaste - time to clean at least 20 of the 35 Stardust lest they also grow a ball of crud.

I took an empty 30ml juice bottle that I washed. I added 3/8" to 1/2" of PGA. The head is small enough to drop in the bottle easily. I seperate the head and the top cap, and they both go in to the PGA bath. I let it soak and I swish a little for 20 minutes. Next I remove with the universal vaping tool (paper clip) and dry with tissue or paper towel. You know you have a roll of TP by your PC ;-) . Dab those wicks well. I then let air dry 20 minutes and re-assemble. It drys really quick because it is all open to the air and the PGA evaporates well. Not as fast as toxic rubbing alcohol, but quick.

I have been re-using the same PGA for 3 or 4 cleanings. Its a little darker but still doing the job. My point is a little goes a long way. Further if I didn't nip into it...lol. For the 45 minutes it takes to clean, I have plenty of other vaping devices to hold me over. Usally at a week, my carto would be un-vapeable. I would then have to replace or go through a long cleaning and drying process. The carto would not be ready for minimum 24 hours. Of course we all have spares, but just example between carto and ViVi.

Try it, its quick, easy and cheap. Substitute volka if you like, but I wouldn't waste the bourbon.

When i used to buy a particular RY4 it would crud up my coil in no time and i would actually use a needle to carefully break it lose and do the dry burn and watch some parts still glow red then carefully break some more off and dry burn until i could see the coil itself then rinse the residue off complete from the part that the coil sits in otherwise it would give a burn taste .

Now i mix myself instead of buying several types of RY4 and notice they do not crud up nearly as fast as before and my mixes are not as dark yet taste better and save me a ton of money. ; )
70pg/30vg i vape and it works excellent in the viv nova 2 and 2.5 my 2 vivi nova 1st versions are now in trash .

You know what I found that cruds up a device? Yipes Stripes. Its a carto killer. But its so tasty I can't put it down. But now with the ViVi, its so quick and easy to clean, no worries.

Really? I didn't know Florida restricted that, bummer. My PGA is 190 proof (95% alcohol), here in Texas. Well even 70 clear alcohol will do it, it will just take longer.

For those using rubbing alcohol, your right. At the low levels you are probably not in danger. But let me pose a hypothetical question. If you had two Burger King sandwitches in front of you. One with a drop of rubbing alcohol on the meat and one regular. Which would you choose? With all the toxic things in the world that we can't avoid, why choose to add even a little more? Its just a matter of buying 1 product or the other. And please don't tell me the price difference is driving the decision. If you can afford to vape and buy these neat new goodies, you can afford to invest $12 in PGA. The $11 saving on getting rubbing alcohol is not worth it.

Do as you will. I just hate to see my vaping fellows ingest bad stuff if they don't have to.
